So she was always pushed to the side because he coach would get frustrated with her. Kerri was always told she was good enough by other teammates, it didn't only hurt her and make her feel bad about herself. But it always gave her the drive to push harder in practice and games. To practice outside of practice, and condition on free times. Just to prove that she is good enough and that she can be the best of the best. “ Kerri Walsh had just came out of a shoulder injury again. Bethany is resilient because she was one of the amateur surfers of Hawaii. If you don't know what resilient means , Well it means that you are a hard worker. That is one of the reasons that I think Bethany Hamilton is resilient .I mean the girl was an amateur at the age of 13 ,so don't you think that it took a lot of work to get there.

Diana is an excellent illustration of the many struggles of women to find a place for themselves in sports. On an individual level, defying societal stereotypes is extremely difficult. The buriers that the first person must overcome are often extreme. However once the first person breaks down those buriers, it becomes increasingly easier for others to follow in their footsteps. Diana's struggle demonstrates both how far women have come and how far women still have to go.
We were going to win the game. That was the end of it. I knew it. We were the winners of that game. I stood up and yelled in a voice that even frightened me. I didn’t scream about moving our feet, or calling the ball, I screamed about how big of winners we were. I was done with moping. For seven minutes of my life, I had forgotten that I could do anything I set my mind to, and I had given up. The worst seven minutes of my volleyball career were those seven minutes in the third game of the final match at Brighton Volleyball Tournament. I had put my determination down to wallow in my disappointment. Disappointment needs to build determination. I had decided a long time ago that there were certain things in life that I could do better than other people. Those were my gifts. I use my gifts to my full potential.

As we can see there are both positive and negative experiences for women entering a sport, whether it is non-traditional or traditional. The great thing about being human is that we have the opportunity and freedom to choose how we are going to let other people affect us. We, as women especially, have the greatest opportunity of them all; we have the chance to teach societies and help them grow. Not many people have the power to change society but women athletes are taking that power and using it well. No matter how hard it gets to be and no matter how much you want to give up a sport because of someone else's negative vibes remember that the cultural costs do not outweigh the benefits. The greatest achievement is to raise above all the negativity and be a role model for younger athletes; the best possible reward is to hear another athlete want to be just like you.
I love volleyball even though it has not always been easy. I have had a lot of problems during my volleyball journey that have helped me grow physically, mentally, and spiritually. I started playing volleyball in fifth grade on the middle school team and am now playing on JV. I did not get a lot of playing time when I first started, but I practiced and learned the basics of the game. I developed a love for the game with a great group of girls that I looked up to, during my first season. I have not always had the best team and coach, though.
Even though injury she thrives and keeps training and moving forward. At the beginning of the 2016 season, Lindsey broke her arm in three different places at Copper mountain. Her career has thrived from her constant work and stubbornness to never give up. That is one of her main messages that really reaches the ears of everyone around the world. On an Under Armour commerical Lindsey truly portrays her devotion to her community and her sport. She says, “I will be doubted. I will be underestimated. But I will not
First and foremost, someone is a sucess if they try their hardest at something. Even if a girl doesn’t win a trophy, she should still feel proud. She should feel sucessful for trying her best and giving it all she had. When I play softball, I always try my hardest to be the best catcher I can be. I always try my hardest to beat the opposite team, because if we don’t beat them, we’ll try harder next time. Even sports teams are proud to be their even if they lose the game.
It seems strange that a simple sport can do so much to a person, but it is not just a simple sport. To an outsider it is just volleyball, but to a player it is love, commitment, and family. It is a way to connect with people who become people in your life that are unforgettable. I have spent the past five years playing this sport with many different girls and I watched them as they grew up and went on to college and other things in life, and now I am that girl. I am now a senior in high school playing volleyball for the last year and I could not imagine what my life would be like if I had never tried this
