Poseidon
Poseidon is said to be the second most powerful god with Zeus being the first. Hes supposed to have power over all waters(both fresh and salt), earthquakes, shape shifting. In some statements its said that he can give people the power of shape shifting. He liked to spend most of his time in his watery domain. He was stronger in the water. He was responsible for all the natural and supernatural event though he is mainly responsible for the ones that involve the sea. He was said to be able to create GIANT tidal waves, storms, floods whirlpools, and pretty much anything related to the sea from nowhere and when he was to strike the water with his trident, a giant tidal wave would come rushing toward you. These are the abilities that made him known as the second strongest god and feared by sailors, they were always worried that Poseidon might send out a tidal wave or storm to kill them. He could cause shipwrecks and drown people and lands. He could also save the ships and people. Its said that the trident is supposed to make his powers stronger and to help with the accuracy of aiming. He is said to possess superhuman strength and be able to lift 70 tons on land but 100 tons under water. Poseidon was said to be the one that created earthquakes, hes said to make them whenever he strikes the ground with his trident and the angrier he is, the bigger the earthquake would be. Some even say that he could make volcanoes erupt! Others believed that when volcanoes erupted, it was a sign that Hephaestus was angry. Poseidon was also known for creating Islands. They say with just a raise of his hand, a new island would appear out of no where. He could make them any size he wanted and wherever he wished. He’s said to have created the islan...

He became the king of Athens by virtue of being Aegeus's son, but availed himself of Poseidon's parentage in facing a challenge handed him by King Minos of Crete. This monarch threw his signet ring into the depths of the sea and dared Theseus to retrieve it. So Theseus dove beneath the waves and he not only found the ring but was given a crown by Poseidon's wife, Amphitrite.
His roman name was Neptune.
