Extracurricular Activities Keeping Kids Out of Trouble Playing sports and being involved in things within the school will benefit you in the future. Participating in activities like sports, music, clubs, etc. will help you stay out of trouble throughout high school and possibly college. Staying out of trouble for people has been a huge issue. A multitude of teenagers are known for getting into some sort of trouble. Being an athlete and participating in different activities keeps teens out of trouble. Although it is the students choice between right and wrong being involved partakes in keeping kids out of trouble. Extracurricular activities are activities you can do after school. For example, athletics, clubs, music groups, and after school programs are all considered extracurricular activities. This offers a way for kids to spend time and energy productively instead of being bored. Occupying yourself with sports and other extracurricular activities eliminates time to get involved in drugs, violence, etc.. For example, I am the oldest of six kids which means my parents hardly have time for all six of us. I also go to a different school than my siblings, so my parents tend to worry about where I am. Parents worry about where their kids are at all times. Knowing your kid is at practice with coaches and people you trust, puts the parents at ease. Playing a sport and being in clubs keeps you busy. Therefore, you have practices every evening and sometimes in the mornings. Many coaches have two-a-days which means you show up in the morning before school and you practice after school. When you have this amount of practices you don’t have time to worry about doing things that’ll get you in trouble. As a young lady graduating from The Dalles Whatonka High School I think it’s important to be involved in as many activity’s as possible. Throughout my high school years I have been involved in many school activities and comities such as student government. I have always had an interest in athletics and played sports. These leadership and athletic roles have tough me skills that will last me a lifetime.

I am an actively involved and motivated student, for I participate in numerous school activities while consistently undertaking superb grades. Throughout my past two years in middle school, I have prospered in the following activities: Newspaper club, Cross Country, Track, Academic Olympics, the Ocean County Math League, Chorus, National Junior Honor Society, and finally, Student Council. In the duration of these activities, I have flourished and excelled greatly.
When there are less kids, there is a greater opportunity for kids to be involved. They can be in several sports, performing arts, or any group they desire. I was involved in volleyball, football managing, basketball, track, cheerleading, softball, choir, and student council. I was always busy with projects or practices “promotes an overall feeling of unity and social solidarity (Schaefer 2016:18). Activities and “sports serve as a safety value for other participants and spectators, who are allowed to shed tension and aggressive energy in a socially acceptable way” (Schaefer 2016:18). At big schools, not every kids has a chance to be involved and so they have to get their anger out some other way, which can lead to bad things. Since I have been involved in many activities and had ways to relieve my anger I do not need another way; therefore, I have not gotten into bad situations. I am satisfied that I haven’t missed out on an activity that I have wanted to do because of my school. Sadly, this does not happen in all schools. Many large schools do not give the students the same chances because there is more competition. At these schools, kids have to compete to be on an extracurricular team. They really have to specialize in the organization or else they do not have the opportunity to be a part of the activity. Many have to specialize in this extracurricular activity
Extracurricular activities should be mandatory because the students will learn social skills. During the activities the students will learn how to make friends and gain friends too. From personal experience I know that being involved in my school activities I have gained many friendships that hopefully last all throughout high school and life. I am involved in my school's art club, and I have made many friends just from that activity alone. When doing these activities, especially with friends, the children will make a tremendous amount of memories that they will have forever.

The Purpose of this essay is firstly to discuss risk factors posed to Simone and Sasha through the scenario provided and highlight ways a professional should assess whether a child is suffering from an abusive or neglectful situation. Secondly the appropriate action that needs to be taken, and the support that needs to be given, and what services will be involved with the family in order to prevent a family brake down while safeguarding and protecting the children’s welfare, will also be discussed. Lastly this essay will draw on current legislation, guidance and procedures that promote multi– agency working in order to effectively safeguard and promote children’s welfare.

At some point students has had trouble either at home or at school and need to release stress or tension. Some of these times the teens choose to do activities that are wrong. Youth want to feel comfort and accepted, therefore they sometimes will do events that are not well for their body just to fit in with a group. There is evidence that proves sports can reduce the likeliness of teens committing crimes, or getting into trouble. Tees look at the negative substances such as drugs, alcohol, or tobacco, and think that they can do whatever they want. Many teens look at these activities and think they are “exciting” or “cool” and want to try them, but if they are busy with sports they most likely will not be as easily influenced. Participation in sports helps keep teens out of trouble by taking up their free time which could be used for mischief, gives them an opportunity to meet new friends for positive role models, provides teens an outlet to develop a higher self-esteem, and also enables student to set goals for on and off the field.

However, this study will focus on the effect of extra curricular activities on academic performances. In many cases, participation in extra curricular activities positively influences attendance and connection to school. This study will investigate the impact of extra curricular activities that require a daily commitment over an extended period of time, greater than a month. Athletics is the dominant after school activity that requires a daily commitment; therefore, this study will involve student athletes as well as students who are involved in other extra curricular activities. Another reason why student athletes will be a large part of this study is that there may be a correlation between the skills necessary to succeed in athletics and academics (American Sports Institute, 1991).
High school is one of, of not the, most pivotal moments in any person’s life. What the student does and how he or she acts in high school determine, for the most part, what they are going to do for the rest of their lives. One way to put themselves on a positive path for school is to sign up and attend after school clubs and sports. Developing these skills at primary school ages can prevent students from struggling with their ability to build social relationships at a later age.
