Keep It on the Track
Everyone speeds every now and then or drives a way that does not obey the rules of the road. I have a pretty good experience of not obeying the traffic laws, such as flipping my mother’s car or even speeding up to 130 mph, and sometimes drag racing on open road. After a bunch of tickets and raising my insurance rates I came to see that I should keep the reckless driving on the track.
I always seemed to not learn from the first mistake when it came to driving, after my first car accident you would think I’d learn to obey driving laws. I had just got off work at 5pm and my co worker was outside smoking a cigarette and yelled out “go ahead and show me that you can really burnout”, as I got in my car, and of course I wouldn’t say no. I put my car in gear and took off and burned rubber in the empty parking lot, as I’m sliding out the parking lot I hear a loud pop, it’s my front passenger tire that popped and the next thing I knew I had no control of the car and ahead of me is a curb that leads into a shopping center but is about 10 feet down. At this point my car is in the air and the car lands nose first flipping the car upside down. I crawl out the car and realize I just totaled my mother’s car.
Driving fast in the car I built is my favorite thing to do and it had got me in plenty of trouble but I felt as the rush was worth it. It was a few summers ago and I had just got my turbo put in, I was on the highway on my way to the local car meet and I decide to take off, I get my car up to 100 mph then slow down, but then I want to time it this time so I get my phone out to use my timer and take off again but this time I reach up to 128 mph and I stretch it all the way to the capital blvd exit. Right as I thought...

...ea but I would be one of the people that don’t get away. As soon as my I get my car to slow down so I can turn back, there are 3 cops coming towards my car and realized I couldn’t go anywhere. The officers cars come to a halt and one of the officers tell me to throw my keys out the window and I was taken downtown for the night and was explained to, that my car will be seized by the department and will be crushed due to the illegal street modifications and I will have to attend the day they crush my car as punishment, including the several tickets I received.
Driving is a really good, fun thing to do but if you abuse the power of a car it can be tragic. It took me awhile to realize that this sport is meant to be on the track supervised, after I have flipped my mother’s car, received many tickets, and finally getting caught off the track I clearly learned my lesson.
charge ten to twenty dollars per mile an hour over the speed limit. The officer
Drivers who speed often do not realize the enormous danger they are creating. When someone is speeding they have a higher braking time and are often going too fast to notice all of their surroundings, and fail to take all of the safety precautions a driver should use. Road conditions play a large role in the effects of speeding. Choosing to speed can also get a person’s license taken away, cost a fortune, or both.
Have speeding ever been a problem with you? How many speeding tickets have you received within a year? Have you ever wished that speed limits did not exist?
...bit faster than normal. What should drivers do? Well, there is something we can do that would allow for us to be able to raise the speed limits. We can write to our local representatives and let them know the need for raising the speed limits. Provide good research and valuable information that will help them to make the best possible decision. Of course, we must obey the law until the speed limits are changed. God has commanded us to render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s. (Bible) This was used not only in the aspect of money but also in the aspect of all of Caesar’s laws. The urge is very real to want to break the law, but think about others before yourself. According to Terry Turner we need to think of the why before the how. Basically ask yourself, why do I need to speed? Then after careful consideration of all factors, decide how fast to drive your automobile.
Moreover, not only did I not comply with the speed limit, I did not obey my
“So much of what goes wrong on the road, especially the accidents, are preventable. When I’m teaching, I always stress that how our next drive goes is up to us. It’s in our hands. We can’t take shortcuts, and we can’t take chances,” Viers said.
The light stands at a bright red while you nervously twist your hands back and forth on the steering wheel. You feel your heart beating faster and you start to sweat, as you playfully look to the right at the car in the next lane. Suddenly, the light shines a glorious green, and you punch your gas pedal to the floor with your heavy foot, as your wheels spin from underneath you, ready to launch off like a rocket ship! Sounds like fun, doesn’t it? Many teenagers have this same adventure every day, not knowing what the outcome could be if something went wrong. Speeding and street racing can be very dangerous to you and others around you. I’ve experienced many times with family and friends what speeding can cause. I’m hoping that you will read my stories and see how speeding can really be a deadly thing. I hope this essay will make you think twice before going over the speed limit. Speeding can cause pain for you and your loved ones.
My grandfather looked at me and simply said, “Relax” , once again it was one of his faulty attempts to call me down. Looking back at the skid marks I had left, I return to the driver's seat . With the smell of burnt rubber searing my nose hairs as my grandpa climbed back into the passenger seat. I turned up the music and tried again, and again, and again, off the clutch and onto the gas, finally shifting to 2nd gear drifting down State Road.
First of all it is obvious that a motorist driving over the speed limit has more chances of getting into an accident that a motorist who is traveling at the average speed. One who drives fast does not have proper and that well of a control on the vehicle as one that is moving at a safe speed or at the speed limit mark. It is true that traveling above the speed limit will save time and time is money but is it really worth it. Speed over the limit is a major factor in about two to five percent of fatalities. When driving over the limit it is hard to determine the other drivers speed, this is called the speed variance and this can cause an accident while overtaking the other vehicle or simply changing lanes because the other driver could be speeding up as well, at the same time as you are changing lanes that would result in an accident.
Speed creates more of an impact on the body in car accidents, and can cause damage to a person. Speeding in an accident can make a vehicle spin out of control, flip, and even catch fire. Over thirteen thousand people die because of high speed accidents annually. (National Safety Council) Not all of the fatal crashes are a result from illegal street racing, but also from drivers under the influence and safe drivers who are only speeding slightly. ABC News suggests “No national numbers or statistics exist on the occurrence of street drag racing, but nearly 100 people die annually in California alone, according to the California Department of Motor Vehicles.” One source from CBC News says that one Canadian dies each week from street racing due to the high street race occurrence
If there is an accident on that same road that you are traveling and you are traveling way to fast you can lose control of your vehicle and you won’t to have the ability to stop yourself from creating a large accident. Some people like to drink and drive drunk people go really fast that they don’t think they can get in serious injuries. It not a good idea drink and drive fast and slow people mess up their car by driving fast and slow and breaking fast. Many people don’t pay attention to the rode and causes accidents. People don’t like following the speed
“The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status, or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we all believe that we are above-average drivers” -Dave Barry, comedian. The number of accidents over the last ten years have drastically increased, drivers are paying less attention to the road itself. Many individuals behind the wheel of a car believe that their driving does not affect the road conditions, however it always will. The driving habits of today are catastrophic due to the reasoning that the driving will affect other lives through reckless or distracted driving, and disobeying traffic laws.
I learned with that incident that I should never take my life for granted because in one instinct my life could be gone. One major lesson I learned through this experience or accident is that life is way too short to be worried and stressed out all of the time, since I am still young I want to go and have fun but also be safe while having fun. Through this one experience I will never forget that I could have died or I could have gotten more injured than I actually did. I really never thought that much of texting and driving because I would pass by cars, and it would never really affect me but after that one afternoon if I see a person texting and driving, I usually honk my horn or I get as far away as I can from that person. Finally the last major lesson I learned is to never text and
As we were eating some sleazy greasy food, I obviously had to tell my friends about running from the law and my involvement. After telling all my friends about my night so far they all had a good laugh. Later that night when we were leaving the Waffle House the law was behind by my car running the tag. Once the law left we definitely decided it would be a good decision to go home. However, when we started to leave I put the petal to the metal. We fish tailed the car sideways, and as I was trying to regain control of the wheel I accidentally over corrected. If one knows anything about driving cars to fast and or wild, one of the biggest mistakes one can make is to over correct. Following my big mistake the car spun out of control off the road, into the ditch, up a hill, and finally came to a rest once I had hit a power pole with the rear bumper. As if the night had not already been embarrassing enough for me, this car accident put the amount of embarrassment I felt over the
