Recommended: Arguments about animal rights

This video depicts Katy Perry's transformation from a damsel in distress to the queen of the jungle as she embraces nature through her experiences with it. In turn, finding self-empowerment and coexistence with nature.

The three meanings of nature are portrayed throughout the video. The first meaning of nature includes everything that is non-human. Hence, this range from the plane, the jungle and animals to the geographical features such as the waterfall. The second meaning of nature is the essence of something. The tiger mauling on Katy's boyfriend is showing the essence of a tiger being predatory. Also, the alligator preying on Katy along the river banks and striking from shallow waters. Politics are related to the animal rights and cruelty in relation to animal actors as stated by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Nonetheless, Katy rebutted with the American Humane Association’s (AHA) approval that no animals were harmed in the making. Parity is absent as animals are unable to voice out their views. Hence, humans have the upper hand against animals. The least humans could do to even out parity is taking care of the animals in terms of adequate food and shelter. Progress is done by PETA in constantly reviewing what the music industry offers both positively and negatively, acting as a voice for animals in standing up for their rights, raising awareness and educating knowledge to the general public. Ranking from the largest power, players involves Katy Perry, AHA, PETA, The Serengeti Ranch, Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden and the animals. Transactions between different players are where profits come into play such as the Serengeti Ranch and Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden profiting from Katy Perry as she uses the physical environment and animals in exchange for money.
