When people visualize heroes, they visualize a person with superpowers, a prince or a king from a Disney movie, etc. Most of the familiar ones are fictional characters, but it can be anyone in this world. It can even be someone you haven’t even met. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t because it’s their actions and traits that count. I specify a hero as someone who is thoughtful, someone who never gives up, and someone who inspires other people. Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, mostly known as Katy Perry, is thoughtful, never gave up, and inspired many. She is my hero. Many people don’t have a mere idea of what thought is, but there are also many who do. Katy Perry is definitely one who does. She has been involved with many charities involving humans and animals ever since her rise to stardom. During her most popular, successful tour, The California Dreams Tour, she raised over $150,000 for the Tickets-For-Charity fundraiser. The capital was distributed among three charities: the Children’s Health Fund (CHF), Generosity Water, and Humane Society of the United States. She also signed a copy of one of her three albums and her label, EMI, donated it for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Last year, she was officially given the title of a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, “with a special focus on engaging young people in the agency’s work to improve the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children and adolescents. All these charity involvements, donations, etc. make it clear that Katy is a generous, thoughtful woman. Instead of being an egotistical woman, with her money and not care about others, she takes the time to not only think of her family, but also the whole world. There are times when people feel obligated to give up b... ... middle of paper ... ...o make people have a better day because they are blissful songs. They helped me through the past difficult year that I went though. She made me feel that there was someone out there who cared about me and would always be there for me. She taught me that it’s okay to weird. That weird is better. Even though I’ve never personally met Katy, I know without her and her music, many people wouldn’t be as happy as they are today. I know this because I wouldn’t be happy. Katy Perry is thoughtful, never gave up, and inspires many people. I know she will always be like this because she has a kind heart. Although many people will disagree with my opinion, I believe she is the perfect hero in my eyes. She is a woman who makes and will keep on making a difference in this world. She will never fail her Katy Cats because she will always try her best to make sure that we’re happy.
The comparison between siblings has become a universal problem over the past several decades, as implied in Peg Kehret’s elementary monologue, I’m NOT My Brother; I’m Me. Through Jonathan, Kehret expresses the valuable message to never judge people based on the characteristics of their siblings. As the oldest child in my family, I support Kehret’s message and additionally believe that every individual is different and hence, should not be judged or compared with their siblings, family members or friends.
For one, she sends kids up to age 5 a book every month. If you just sign up your child at the website called imagination library and there's already 956,710 kids on it. She also is always looking for charities to give too. She gives to Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes, Boot Campaign, Cancer Research, UK Dogs Deserve Better, Imagination Library, Operation Once in a Lifetime, Save The Music Foundation stated in looktothestars. She is always giving to people that need help. She has helped so many people like the kids that she is giving to and not only is she helping kids but she is helping animals that needs
What is a hero? For many, a firefighter, police officer, or superhuman may come to mind. According to Robert F. Kennedy, “Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or the lot of others, or strikes out an injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope.” Clara Barton, a civil war nurse and the founder of the American Red Cross, is the epitome of a hero, as her heroic acts, courage and care during the Civil War serve as an inspiration for others in today’s dark times.
My Personal Michigan hero,Luis Andalon, works hard and never stopped working hard, which inspires me to be great. My hero overcame coming from a big and a poorer family, always worked hard and never stopped. A hero is a person who inspires you and cares about you, like my hero does. My hero doesn’t have any real superpowers, but it feels like he
A hero is someone you look up to, someone who has done something to inspire you, someone who is your role model. In our society, there are many different types of heroes—family, friends, teachers, firefighters, and police officers to name a few. But a hero that stands out to me is a U.S. soldier. Soldiers risk their lives every day just so we can have our freedom.
“A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself” (Campbell 1). When we think of heroes most of us think of movie stars or professional athletes, but it’s not always about your popularity or talent it can also be about how you help society. What I think make a great hero is someone who is able to overcome his or her obstacles in life, is highly motivated, and has plenty of bravery.
To me, a hero is someone who can show courage when faced with a problem, who Is able to help others in various ways, someone who gives others who need support the strength to push and go on through life’s difficulties. When one thinks of heroes, names such as Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and Mother Theresa often come to mind. Not only did these people had a lot of achievements in their lives, but they also left a mark in our world. They have definitely changed the world. When I personally think of two heroes that changed the world’s idea on women I always remember Oprah Winfrey and Malala Yousafzai.
What is a hero? Why are they recognized in our society? A hero is someone who sacrifices and strives to help others, even if their lives are at risk. Heroes aren’t afraid, irresponsible, or frail. They don’t just lag around when problems are happening; they stand up for what is right and just for others. These role models inspire and protect others through the hardest times. Some major role models in our society today are Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, Welles Crowther, and Nancy Gianni. These people don’t hesitate to stand up for the right cause though many trials rise before them. They aren’t afraid of the unknown path they are taking.
When Autry made Troubadours the first time I was so excited! She is just an overall great person and a very close friend to me. I will cherish her friendship for the rest of my
Scholars most often say that the definition of a hero is “a person noted for courageous acts or nobility of character” (Staff). However, average citizens would often differ from this definition, depending on their core values. For me, I consider a hero as someone who stands up for what is right, even when others stand against. A hero is someone who never gives up on their goals, even when the path gets rocky. A hero is someone who believes in the betterment of the world, through proper education. All of these qualities add up to a hero of extreme proportions, one that would rally a change and movement. Malala Yousafzai, of Mingora, Pakistan, is a prime example of a hero who stands up for what is right, never gives up on their goals, and believes in the betterment of the world.
According to the Oxford Dictionary (2003), hero is defined as “person admired for bravery or other good qualities.” People usually refer heroes to well-known individuals that have particular features and outstanding achievements that distinguish them from ordinary people. In my case, my hero is not someone who is renowned in the world, but is significant to me personally. Moreover, she is someone who influences me the most. My mother is my hero.
Most people when thinking of a hero they view it as someone from the military who has horrific stories to tell. Someone famous who walks down the red carpet and signs autographs, or someone that changed the world. But from my point of view my hero is my sister, Brooke Simonis because she has changed my world in more ways than you can believe. Brooke is my hero because she my second favorite women in this world, she is very respected, and she is always trying to bring me up.
“That’s all a man can hope for during his lifetime- to set an example- and when he is dead, to be an inspiration for history.” (William McKinley) Anyone can be inspiring, small, big, old, young, but to be inspiring you have to set good examples. In other words, to be inspiring you can’t do normal things, normal things are irrelevant to heroes, you have to be different. The true definition of a hero is someone who is inspiring to others positively.
A hero isn’t always about the super powers and magic. A hero may have their adventures and big impacts on their lives, but a hero to me is a person who accepts the change even if it’s hard on them. This person realizes that nothing will ever be the same anymore. Their life has changed completely. The person I call a hero is my dad. He goes out of his way to give me everything I need to survive. I call my father a hero because he accepts me for who I am and accepts the changes that I have met through my teen years when no one else would. When times are tough, he finds a way to avoid the negatives and always thinks positive. Even though life is very difficult, and life is hard at times, he still manages to succeed in keeping me alive. I could not ask nothing better because my father has been here for me since day one and always will. When there’s no one to talk to, he’s there to listen to. My dad is my hero because he looks out for me and cares for me. My dad has been through so much with me and still manages stay by my side.Others may consider a super-hero being a hero because of their flying, or mind controlling powers, but think about how hard it would be without having super-hero...
Personally, I absolutely love Taylor Swift. As a fellow singer/songwriter, I am envious of her ability to be so poetically honest because that is what I struggle with most when songwriting. I am always afraid that something I write will end up sounding silly or stupid, which ultimately prevents me from creating something amazing. But fear has surely never stopped Taylor Swift, and I think that’s what makes an artist like her so special. She openly writes about what she’s going through, and she doesn’t care about what other people might think about her. Whenever I listen to one of Swift’s songs, I can’t help but feel like it could have been written specifically for me. It’s almost as if she takes my thoughts and puts them into words, which is quite a valuable talent if you ask me. In fact, for every big milestone in my teenage life, there has been a Taylor Swift song that I could rel...
