Automobile engines is one of the greatest inventions in history. Automobile engines have made it easier and better for us to get around. A gasoline engine's power a lot of things other than cars that help us out in life. The first gasoline automobile engine was first built in 1876 in Germany. It was built by the man named Karl Benz. benz was born on November 25, 1844 and he grew up in Germany. When he got older he studied at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Benz graduated July 9, 1864 with a degree of mechanical engineering. While Benz was still in school he started thinking about the idea of the horseless carriage. Karl Benz started working at a mechanics workshop when he was 27 years old, in 1871. There he worked with his friend Austin Ritter.
In 1871 Karl Benz started working on his idea of the 2 stroke engine. He had some business misfortune and he was trying to find a new way to make a new source of income. Karl Benz had patent several different engine parts such as the speed regulator system, the water radiator, the spark plug, the ignition using spark with the battery, the carburetor, the clutch, the gear

The diesel engines do not have spark plugs like gasoline engines do. The diesel engines run off hot air. The diesel engines has a high compression that allows the air in the cylinders to become hot. When the air in the cylinders is hot enough it will ignite the fuel. The diesel engine has fuel injectors instead of spark plugs. At first the diesel engine was not put into cars or trucks. They were run in trains and ships, then later they used them in buses. It was not until 1923 that Daimler put the diesel engine in the trucks. The first diesel engine to be put in a car was made by Citroen Rosalie. His car was the first passenger car with a diesel engine. The new diesel car had a lot of restrictions so the diesel powered car did not go into production until
diesel is actually a new-to-us motor in the US as it has been used quite a bit by Fiat in Europe
Louis Chevrolet was born on December 25, 1878 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. He growth around people who liked to repair things, his dad was one of them, a watchmaker, from him he learned all that he knew. Louis also enjoyed racing cars and bicycles. Chevrolet made a world speed record that made him famous. He invented Chevrolet’s company with his partner William C. Durant. On specific Louis Chevrolet invented a six cylinder automobile. He wanted to make a powerful engine and the result was a six cylinder model. Louis aspired something new and different from the other types of cars. But this was not all. On addition, he was the founder of the Frontenac Motor Company. Later on the Chevrolet brothers began to produce an aircraft engine called the Chevrolair 333.
The history of the diesel truck engines began why back in the late 19th century.
Diesel mechanics are practically the backbone of this country. Everyone knows that things are delivered via eighteen wheelers these days occasionally they need to be repaired and have maintenance done to them. When that happens who’s there to save the day? DIESEL MECHANICS that’s who! You’re about to learn what it takes to become a diesel mechanic and what you’ll make when you are one.
The image of a self-propelled vehicle dates back around the early thirteenth century. Europe is the birthplace of the automobile, but it was adopted by America. Roger Bacon had a vision of cars being made without animals so they can be at astonishing speeds and maneuverability . About three hundreds years later, Leonardo Da Vinci rejuvenate Bacon's idea with hopes of creating a military vehicle. His idea was transformed into the modern day tank. The first step in making a self-propelled vehicle was taken by Nicholas Joseph Cugnot. He was an eighteenth century French artillery officer. "In 1769 he built and ran a three-wheeled carriage mounting a steam engine of his own design, with the idea that it might be used for pulling guns"2. It was very clumsy vehicle that was shot into the air when it reached the top speed of three miles an hour. Cugnot's vehicle provided almost no improvement of the horse. In the early years of the nineteenth century an American and British duo had began an automotive experiment. Richard Trevithick, a British engineer, and American genius, Oliver Evans created a workable but crude vehicle propelled by steam3. This early experiment was an improvement, but the railroads and stagecoach companies joined together. With this new combining of forces the new steam vehicle, the Orkuter Amphibolos, was brought down.
Cummins has a history of innovation beginning in 1919 when it was founded and produced its first diesel engine, a 1.5 to 8 horsepower model used to power pumps. In 1929, a Cummins engine powered the first diesel-powered U.S car. The company continued to advance in the diesel engine and power generation industry, and in 1958 Cummins Filtration was started to meet the high-performance requirements of Cummins diesel engines (Cummins Inc.). In 1985, Cummins introduced aerodynamic contours to Class 8 trucks years ahead of its time. This new shape greatly reduced air flow drag and, combined with a lightweight engine, attained up to 20 percent higher fuel efficiency than similar vehicles at the time. In 1999, Beijing Public Transit launched a fleet of 300 buses with Cummins B5.9 engines to improve city air quality, being the first clean, alternative fuel fleet in Asia and remains the largest in the world, with more than 3500 Cummins Westport natural gas powered buses (Cummins Inc.). These are just a few examples demonstrating a history marked by improvement and innovation of new technologies in order to reduce emissions and increase efficiencies for the benefit of the environment.
With new diesel technology in today’s world, I think people should consider trying or using new diesel cars and trucks as well as the use of clean diesel.
New technology is arriving every day. The greatest invention during this time was the steam engine. The creation of the steam engine was credited to James Watt. There had been other steam engines before James Watt’s, but none of them were efficient. Watt’s engine was the first efficient engine that could be used in a factory.
He looked through hundreds of books on bicycles and books on horse and buggies. Ford decided to use wheels from a bicycle, and the same steel framing. From the horse and buggy, he took the idea of the shape of the actual frame. He also made a handlebar that was in the same place as horse rider for a buggy. When Henry For opened his first automobile plant, not only did it bring much attention to the industry, but it also made people want to own a car so that they looked “cool”. People knew that this was going to be a successful industry so they wanted to work in it. Even though most people think that the first true car ever made by Henry Ford was the Model A; they are actually being deceived. Henry Ford’s first actual cars were made for racing. Only a year or so later did Ford start making Model A’s.
World War I was fought between 1914 and 1918, with most battles occurring in Europe. The Great War between the allied powers and the central powers was the first major war to use airplanes. Many heroes emerged from the war, but perhaps the most famous of these is Manfred von Richthofen, a German fighter pilot.
Mr. Coffin was born in 1873 and grew up on an Ohio farm, and in Ann Harbor, Michigan. He first discovered one of his visions while attending the University of Michigan. His vision was somehow to produce a low cost car, which would sell for less than a thousand dollars and that would attract a mass market. In 1902, Howard Coffin went to work for the Old Motor Works of Detroit, where he began his phenomenal career as an automobile builder. After the Olds Company decided to stay with their expensive car, he worked at other companies until he was finally able to achieve his dream. With the financial support of the Hudson Department Stores of Detroit, he invented the Hudson Car. The car was the first model of a four-cylinder roadster that sold for about $900.
By 1899 Ford created a more proper looking motorcar with the help of wealthy businessman William Murphy. It had high wheels, a padded double bench, brass lamps, mud guards, and a "racy" look. In the same year Ford founded the Detroit Automobile Company. Within 3 years Ford had built an improved, more reliable Quadricycle, using a four-cylinder, 36 horsepower-racing engine. In 1901 his car beat what was then the world's fastest automobile in a race before a crowd of eight thousand people in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. The publicity he received for this victory allowed Ford to finance a practical laboratory for refining his auto ideas. In 1903 Ford launched his own car company, The Ford Motor Car Company, and by January 1904 he had sold 658 vehicles. By 1908 he built the famous Model T, a car that was affordable to the middle class. The automobile was no longer the toy of the rich.
Diesel engines are an important component of society in how they are used efficiently and effectively. Diesel engines have been around since 1892 when inventor Rudolph Diesel was able to achieve his goal of developing an internal combustion engine that can achieve maximum efficiency as seen in the Carnot Theorem. The Carnot Theorem set the standard for determining the maximum
The Invention of The Automobile The first automobile was invented in Europe, however the automobile industry had an enormous favorable impact on the United States economy. Brown & Co. 329) There was not one specific person who "invented the automobile," but, there were many people who contributed to the invention of the automobile. (Ingrassia, 5) (Boyne, 31) These people include Isaac Newton, who developed a power carriage in the fourteen twenties, and Joseph Cugnot, who built the first steam powered automobile in seventeen sixty nine.
Bad gas prices are causing more car companies to make more hybrid cars to save people money in the long run. Not all diesels are gas guzzlers. Most of the new diesel trucks get a lot better gas mileage now than they did ten years or so ago. Volkswagen is now beginning to make this new car that has a Turbo Diesel Injection Clean Diesel motor in it. Unlike old diesel engines, this one is more modern to get better gas mileage and be cleaner to the environment. This new car that they have invented gets much better gas mileage than the older diesel engines that were in old trucks and cars.
