Reading Pride and Prejudice was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It was one of those books that you expect nothing but the best. The book met up to my expectations and satisfied the idea I had of the book. The romance aspect of the book grasped my attention and the development of the characters inspired me. Jane Austen wrote this book a long time ago and it is still a classic surrounding the romance between Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy.
The experience of Pride and Prejudice was intensified by how I read the book. I found this great audible on YouTube that had over a million views read by Karen Savage. When I would grab my book and listen to the recording, I was brought into the full experience of Pride and Prejudice. The person reading it kept me engaged with the pace of their voice, the accents, and how they transitioned from different characters based on tones. This led me to fully understand what was happening at each scene and know who was the one talking. I would connect my phone to the speaker and turn the volume high up and listen to the book in the afternoons when I had time. Literature connects us in ways we did not know we were connected. It explores themes that are critical to society that many are not aware of. Literature not only improves our reading skills but improves our understanding of the world. Life on earth would become better if individuals were attracted to literature. Literature changes individuals in ways they did not know. Before, I would notice literature and never explore it like we did in this course.
