Kanye Omari West was born on June 8th, 1977 in Atlanta, Georgia. After living in Georgia for the first three years of his life with his mother Donda and father Ray, they decided to get a divorce. After the divorce case was finished, Kanye lived with his mother in Chicago and spent the summers with his father. Donda decided to move to china for a year, taking ten-year-old Kanye with her, to teach a university exchange program. Once they spent the year in china, they came back to Chicago and lived in a middle-class south shore neighborhood.
After graduating from Polaris High School, Kanye won a scholarship to study at Chicago’s American Academy of Art. Kanye decided to drop out of college to follow his dreams in the music industry, naming his first solo album “The College dropout”. Once he produced many songs for different artist, Kanye realized that he didn’t want to be the person in the background, He wanted to be the main act. Kanye didn’t grow up struggling, therefore he wasn’t taken seriously by many record labels. Finally, after going into many different interviews, Damon Dash decided to sign Kanye to Roc-A-Fella in 2002. In that same year, Kanye was driving back home from a recording session and was involved in a car collision leaving him with a shattered jaw. Through his recovery, Kanye wrote and recorded an album and a specific song about the crash naming it

Kanye apologized to Taylor afterwards and she accepted it. After that whole controversy, Kanye took a step into the fashion business and took a break from music. Signing a $10 million deal with Adidas, then lunched his first collection ‘Yeezy Season 1’. Kanye returned to his music about 2 years later, dropping his fifth album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” which added 3 more Grammy’s to his
I was talking with my aunt about current events, to the extent a thirteen year old can discuss such a thing, and she asked me with a slightly disarming fervor if I was a Kanye West fan. “No” I remarked innocently. “I mean I liked that one song he was on, but I would hardly call myself a fan” I thought. “He’s prejudiced ya know” warned my aunt I found out later that week that the man had apparently made a fool out of himself publicly, jumping on stage and drunkenly trying to disarm Taylor Swift of her newly received VMA Award, declaring “Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time!” At this point the only information I had received about Kanye was that he had made a pretty enjoyable contribution to a song I liked a year ago, and he apparently had acted very rude at some award show.
In 1997 he went to the Rap Olympics in Los Angeles where a few producers were very impressed and took a demo to Dr. Dre. After the two met, they recorded four songs within the first six hours of working together, creating his first album Marshall Mathers LP. That album was the first rap album to ever be nominated for “Album of the Year” and won 3 Grammy awards. In the first week the album was released, it sold 1.76 million copies in the U.S. which is a record for a solo artist. Eminem has released 10 albums, all rap music. He would spend hours...
He was introduced to the life of drugs and crime at the age of 16, where he stayed and didn’t look back until, in 1992, he decided to leave the world of drugs and crime. Soon after doing this, he began looking for a record deal as a solo artist. But Shawn just wasn’t getting lucky. It wasn't until a friend, Roc-A-Fella CEO Damon Dash, convinced him to form a record company with him that Jay-Z's career finally got off the ground. Jay-Z released his first single through Roc-A-Fella in 1995, "In My Lifetime." It was a hit in New York, and helped Dash secure a distribution deal for Jay-Z’s first album, “Reasonable Doubt.”
Kanye met Kim in 2004 while Kim was married to another man. They both dated other people until they got together in 2012. Kanye waited over 8 years to date Kim. He wrote a line in one of his famous songs “Cold” saying “And I’ll admit, I had fallen in love with Kim / Around the same time she had fallen in love with him.” ("Kanye West (Ft. DJ Khaled) – Cold")
It starts by describing a young woman in college, stating, “she has no idea what she’s doing in college, the major she majored in don’t make no money, she won’t drop out, her parents will look at her funny (West).” By doing this the song establishes that this woman wants success but she doesn’t know how to obtain it since she was basically pushed into pursuing a career in college that she was unsure of in order to obtain success. The song furthers the story of the woman when she states that she gives up and goes on to say that her tuition money is enough to buy a few pairs of new shoes. The desire for success and frustration of not being able to achieve it, is what essentially leads the woman of taking this shortcut of dropping out of school to acquire material possessions in the “now” instead of the slower more standard route of finishing her education and finding success through that. Kanye West then describes in the song his addiction of material possessions when he began to acquire wealth from his music career. He says in the song “Man I’m so self-conscious, that’s why you always see my with one of my watches,” showing that he took the route of obtaining material possessions as soon as he acquired money to try and show others his success (West). He furthers this point by stating “then I spent 400 bucks on this, just to be like, you ain’t up on this,” showing it wasn’t just one instance, but a constant reoccurrence of showing off his material possessions to constantly try and present himself to others as
As seen in his Kanye West’s book “Glow in the Dark” there are a plethora of photos of him displaying his odd sense of style. To the normal eye this can he can be easily sectioned off by society and labeled as black sheep of the music industry. The impact of his clothing has also reached out to the youth as another means of relatability. As discussed before his narcissistic behavior already makes Kanye West a character to be marginalized as misfit to the world. His clothing style contributes to this in a major way that some dont expect. Kanye had interest in many cultures and sought out to understand them. One culture that notably influenced him as a person is Asian culture. Considering that he lived in China for a year when he was ten years old there was no way he wouldn't be touched by this. This can be seen with his clothing style, adopting Japanese streetwear and incorporating it into his style. From this his clothing Brand “Yeezy Supply” was created. Him venturing off into the world of fashion has made the same impact his music has created. Once again the people who feel to be a misfit or black sheep can vent out and be like their role model Kanye West by dressing in his clothing. With Kanye West’s signature shoes being very popular within the youth he wants everyone to be able to own a pair. As stated in an interview on a radio interview 103.5 “The

The rapper known as Tupac Shakur, was born in 1971 in Bronx, NY. Tupac's struggles began early. When Tupac was young, his mother was a member of the organization known as "The Black Panthers." Tupac survived a hard childhood with a drug addicted mother and the rough streets of Baltimore, where they both moved. Soon after their move, Tupac would attend the Baltimore High School for the Performing Arts. This school is what started Tupac in his love of poetry as well as music. Tupac also began writing his rap lyrics here. Rap and music inspired Tupac but may have also been his downfall. In return to Los Angeles in 1987 He released a few 12 inches with “My Posse”. He worked with his crew C.I.A , World Class Wrecking Crew and then the contentious N.W.A. This crew know as N.W.A was The first group to bring gangster rap to mainstream. This crew was very triumphant. This crew generated a lot of controversy by the media and their trademark aggressive, chauvinist, homophobic words. He may just seem like another rapper to you but if you actually listen to his lyrics you can see he’s not like any rapper out there. His name is Kanye West and he was born in Chicago Illinois. He grew up in the “ghetto” and learned to appreciate life. He didn’t learn to really, truly appreciate life until October of 2002. Driving back to his hotel late one night after a recording session, the new-coming rap/hip-hop artist was involved in a devastating, near fatal car accident. The crash left him with a broken jaw in three places and an appreciation for life. Just weeks after being released from the hospital he recorded his first major hit, “Through the Wire,” with his mouth still wired shut. He records every song like its going to be his last song and that makes every song better than the last. He’s not only a rap artist but also a producer. He has been responsible for being behind songs like Jay-Z’s Izzo, Girls, Girls, Girls, The Takeover, and 03 Bonnie and Clyde.
Young Carter swung his way into rap at a youthful age as a departure from the drugs, savagery and destitution that encompassed him in the Marcy Projects. Jay wanted to better himself and did that by getting out of what is known as the “corner life lifestyle.” Be that as it may, despite the fact that he had a stage name, Jay Z remained generally unknown until he and two companions, Damon Dash and Kareem Burke, established their own particular record name, Roc-a-Fella Records, in 1996 (Rubin, 2015). In 1989, he joined the rapper Jaz-O—a more seasoned entertainer who served sort of like a mentor that guided to record a song called "The Originators," which won the pair an appearance on a scene of Yo! MTV Raps. It was right when Shawn Carter grasped the nickname Jay Z, which was at the same time a tribute to Jaz-O, a play on Carter's adolescence nickname of "Jazzy" and a reference to the J/Z tram station close to his Brooklyn home (Caramanica, 2012).
"After some time Tupac released his own album "2Pacalypse Now", which was a success. His career skyrocketed; he became tight with main pawns in the rapping industry. Tupac signed to Deathrow Labels and released songs and albums with them."
He said “the CEO’s tell him that they can 't invest in his ideas, because he 's not a true fashion designer, that he 's a rapper” like he didn’t have any experience in the fashion world. Then he tries to explain that he 's not a true musician either, he doesn 't know how to play the piano. Kanye is an artists, he went back to school and graduate from an art college. I can relate to that in a way, because the past few years I been playing football, and actually came here to play. The summer before arriving to Guilford I had stopped playing football because I felt like there 's more to life than just football. I soon began to take in interest in cars along with fashion. My family tried to marginalize me by telling me that I don 't need to worry about anything else just to play football, like I didn 't know anything about cars or fashion. Little did they know, I took an Auto Tech class in high school, so I know the basics of auto
Lil Wayne turned his anger into a rap. When Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans August 29th of 2005, countless personal items belonging to him and his family were destroyed that he can never recover. Lil Wayne produced a song entitled “Georgia Bush” because he was very distraught about the outcome of Hurricane Katrina. Lil Wayne was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He had family and friends who died trying to save themselves. Many of his childhood memories were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Lil Wayne decided to dedicate his song entitled “Georgia Bush” to the former president of the United State George W Bush, with the introduction saying “This song right here is dedicated to the president of the United States of America. Y 'all might know him as George Bush, but where I 'm from, the lost city of New Orleans we call him this: Georgia (That’s right) Georgia (Bush). Not only did Lil Wayne criticize the way that President George W Bush handled the hurricane Katrina disaster, he also criticizes the way that he ran the country and was sending troops to fight in the war. He stated in his song “Thick white skin and his eyes bright blue, So called beef with you-know-who , he just let them kill all of our troops Look at the bullshit we been through” Had our niggas sitting on top their roofs, Hurricane Katrina, we should’ve called it Hurricane (Georgia) Bush. The people of New Orleans were outraged about the outcome of their city. Their houses
