The Kallang River is the longest river in Singapore and it flows via the Marina Channel into the Marina Barrage a dam (Cornelius, V., 2008). According to the researchers from the (National Parks Board, 2009), the Kallang riverside park located on the side of this river which holds many recreations and sports activities such as fitness equipment and jogging and cycling tracks marked with distance markers. This cycling tracks leads down towards the Esplanade Park which is one of the oldest parks in Singapore. Built in 1943, it was redeveloped in 1991 to enhance the Civic District's identity.
The Waterways Watch Society (WWS) is a society that works with the community to identify such sources of pollution of the Marina reservoir and propose solutions to stop it through environmental education and awareness activities. WWS has a bicycle environmental patrol programme since 2005 and the map of this cycling path is shown in Fig-1. This programme consists of various hands-on activities, ranging from environmental science, history and culture to biodiversity at the southern marina of Singapore. It provides a sense of ownership and holistic learning through both positive and negative impacts of human habits and development toward the environment (Waterways Watch Society, 2013).

With the warm tropical climate, it is occasionally difficult to attract participants to take part in these meaningful activities, especially those who could not balance on a bicycle, and dislike outdoor activities. One way to promote participation is to re-design a concept cycling device to take up to four participants to increase the fun and entertaining factor and to attract the amusement of passer-by, bringing attention to the good cause...

Brimbank Park (coordinates 37.7340° S, 144.8370° E) is located in the Maribyrnong Valley (hollowed by the Maribyrnong River), near the Melbourne suburb Keilor. It is intersected by the Maribynong River and the M80 highway, which reveals the adaptive nature of the natural environment in a growing urban area. (Parks Victoria, 2013)
The marketing concept is producing a product that people want to buy and that the business is not selling because it likes making the product there doing it because they know people will buy their product. To begin to appreciate some of the problems, the initial mandate of the waterway and how it has been traditionally facilitated must be examined. From the beginning, the basics of the system were clear...

The creation of the computer and the Internet has significantly furthered and revolutionized Parks and Recreation Districts across the country. Parks and Recreation Management is a profession that has been able to prosper with the Internet and personal computers today. Recreation in the present day is becoming especially popular due to a general decrease in working hours because of the economy. With many people having more free time, more demands are put on the Parks and Recreation districts. Also with the many national, state, and private parks in the United States, it is crucial for the park systems to have a systematic approach to dealing with these new demands. The computer and Internet has become the answer to this problem.
There is a very brief window until the games begin in Rio, but they still have lots to accomplish before the opening ceremony. The Guanabara Bay, the host site for Olympic sailing and windsurfing events made international headlines because of its polluted waters. Kaiser says that “as part of Rio’s Olympic bid there was a promise that has yet to be fulfilled to clean up the bay by 80 percent”(Kaiser). By January Andrea Correa, the state environment secretary confessed that this would not be possible(qtd. in Kaiser). They are only at 49% of their clean up goal currently. While Mayor Eduardo Paes told CNN last June that “pollution does not pose any health risks for the athletes ”(qtd. Kaiser). On the other hand Moscatelli disagrees, he claims, “that sailing in the bay is like playing Russian roulette “(qtd. in Kaiser). He warns “that sailors run the risk of hitting anything from plastic bags to car bumpers, pieces of wood, tires and even furniture,”(qtd. Kaiser). He discusses how if the sailors fall into the water they may possibly be victims of gastrointestinal infections, mycoses, otitis or hepatitis. The fact that the pollution of the water could potentially affect those who get in the waters health is not a good sign for Rio. This shows that they may be unfit to handle the Olympics and the the preparation is ruining their city even
...good job to bring us as close as we can to the same experience that they had without us physically being there. I especially like how in almost every community that they visited find the usefulness of the bicycle, rather if it’s the cycle yatra in India or bicibomba (bicycle-powered water pump). This is significant to me because something as simple as a bicycle can help improve a community. The book also provides realistic solutions to the challenges that the global community as a whole is facing. So we can literally apply what we learn and use it in our own community. Our individualism has taken over much of our lives, and our sense of community just isn’t there anymore; but the book suggest that if you don’t want to be oppress by your community due to the lack of it, there is always better alternative. I am glad that the types of community still exist today.
The cycling industry as a whole has a variety of different bikes that will work for any scenario out there. The first bike that the industry creates is the “road bike” which is a made for paved surfaces, triathlon or time-trial. Following the road bike is the “Mountain bike” which is made for dirt trails and rocky terrain. After the mountain bike is the “Cyclocross bike” they are for off season training, for professional bike riders. The bike has a heavy duty frame, with fatter and knobby tires. One of the new creations in the bike industry is the “Hybrid bike”, this bike has an upright sitting positions that has comfort amenities such as having a wide, thick seat and simple gears. Another part of the cycle industry is the children’s bikes in which have smaller wheels ranging from 19’’ and below. The newest creation in the cycling industry would be the “BMX bike” which are used for motocross events that have smaller wheels, knobby tires and are used for jumps and stunts. Cruiser bikes are used for rent purposes they have fat tires, big handlebars and a more relaxed frame for an upright riding style.

A cigarette butt lies next to my foot, still emitting a trace of smoke. Nearby on the dusty asphalt a pigeon waddles self-consciously, bobbing its head as if pecking the air for some invisible food. A squirrel churrs a threat to his brother, challenging him to romp.
This literature review will look into cycling as a means of transportation, for both commuter and recreational purposes, as well as look in depth, the question of just how much can cycling improve both our mental and physical health? The review will examine/critique the statistics that try to prove the affects of physical activity for public health, as well as outline the strengths of each claim and expose the weaknesses. The great philosopher Plato said that the "lack of activity [in society] destroys the good condition of every human being, while movement and methodical physical exercise save it and preserve it". This review will outline the dilemma we face in todays society; it ultimately can be referred to, as David Bannister suggests, the fascination with 'distance, speed and time'. For these three qualities are so domineering in our lives today and the effects (both positive and negative) play a substantial part in our lives. The review will critique the writings of scholars such as Tranter, Bannister, Racioppi, Tight and Lindsay as they attempt to define the importance of physical activity for public health.
In the early 1960s a new sport was on the rise in the California area- that sport was motocross. Children and adults alike were entranced with the loud roar of the engines and the high speeds and air which these motorized bicycles could reach. Many people began swarming to motocross events, and others even began to race their bicycles on dirt tracks to feel as if they were motocross racers. Bicycle manufacturers saw this as an opening for expanding to a new market. (Davies)
Over the past few years, climate change, plastic pollution, acid rain, and the interlinked nature of these challenges have brought much concern of many researchers and environmentalists. In a post-modern society, we have created a lot of environmental issues with global impacts because our environment has begun to be treated as an unlimited field full of abundant resources for groups and organizations with the power and skills to acquire them. Though many news and social media often underline the consequences of disturbing ecosystem and the significances of respecting the environment, but as more people cluster together in large metropolitan areas today, there are fewer opportunities for them to explore the city environment. Consequently, people do not have enough environmental awareness, and this could make the environmental challenges become even harder to cope with in the future. Hence, it is extremely vital to have environment education since it can help people to

People from all over the world go to beautiful beaches that are filled with water as clear as ice or as beautiful as diamonds. But, what will happen if we do not conserve the appealing sites that draw attraction to the public? Contaminated beaches has become a controversial issue to the public because of the causal problem, the harm to the people and marine animals, the government agencies supporting or opposing pollution, and the industries involved in creating such unlawful decisions. To create and find a solution, we must first find the core to the problem.
