Kakegurui - Compulsive Gambler
Hyakkaou Private Academy style of teaching is a little bit unorthodox. The students of the school are mostly from rich homes and wealthy parents. Believing that they have to prepare the students for the challenges of the outside world, the school has two modes of teaching. During the day, the students learn the normal subjects that every other school teaches. Subjects like history and languages are taught during the day.
At night, a different type of learning takes place. The school teaches the students what it takes to deal with money and control people. The school becomes a gambling den at night and a new type of lesson is taught. Here the students bet their fortunes by challenging one another in betting duels.

She treated Ryota in an inhumane way when he lost to her in a gambling match. She made him bring her meals for her and even had him kneeling on all fours as a stool when she felt tired. She enjoys taunting her opponents during matches and ridicules them when they lose.
Mary is the first person to challenge Yumeko to a gambling match and she also the first to lose to Yumeko. She rigs the gambling match against Yumeko but didn’t realize that Yumeko was aware of her scheme. Mary wins the first match and agrees to a rematch with Yumeko. She loses to Yumeko and ends up being Yumeko’s pet.
Mary has to partner with Yumeko during a Debt Settlement game to enable both of them get out of debt and the house pet status.
Itsuki Sumeraji: Itsuki is a supporting character in the Kakegurui - Compulsive Gambler series. She is the daughter of a wealth toy maker and also a student of Hyakkaou Private Academy. She is in a different class from Yumeko and Ryota. Though she is a first year student, she is also a student council member. She bought her seat due to the influence and money that her family

Itsuki, sure of victory as she had rigged the cards, bets 20 million yen. Yumeko announces that she didn’t have that amount to bet with but Itsuki agrees to lend her the money. Itsuki’s plan was to add Yumeko’s fingernails to her collection.
Unknown to her, Yumeko was aware of her cheat and defeats her during the gambling match. Itsuki is left humiated and becomes the second person that Yumeko defeats in the series. Itsuki’s defeat leads to her being dropped as a student council member. She later joins up with Yumeko and Ryota when she finds out that Yumeko’s goal was to challenge the student council president. Itsuki assumed that Yumeko want to become student council president and so she befriends her to have a chance of getting back on the student council.
Kirari Momobami: Kirari is the present student council president and the antagonist in the tv series Kakegurui - Compulsive Gambler. She became the student council president when she won a gambling match against the former president. She was in her first year when she won the match. Kirari formed the house pet system and hierarchy status in the school. Her goal is to have Hyakkaou Private Academy students rule the country with her at the

Okonkwo is on two ends of a stick. Sometimes he can be shown to be a caring, sympathetic character, but others he is shown as a ruthless person that is very unsympathetic person. Okonkwo is a man of action that would rather solve things with his fists rather than talking it out. He is a great wrestler hailing from the Umuofia clan that has thrown Amalinze the Cat. Okonkwo is also a very good farmer, where he has been able to grow two barns worth of yams. This article points out the flaws in our modern education systems. Students should enjoy school and feel as though they are learning important things in the subjects offered. The classes can be altered to tend to the interests of children, so they can properly express themselves. School should be preparing children to be mature, how to handle hard situations, and ultimately prepare them for their future lives. Firstly, Itchoua is a brave veteran who overcame many terrifying experiences while fighting with many vicious rats. Throughout the story, Itchoua proved that he was brave by putting his life at risk for the safety of his friends, persevered even though he was unconsicous and that he has characteristics of a leader. Juveniles are being taught that in order to have a nice car, branded cloths and the house of their dreams, by getting into an expensive mortgage, they have to be an employee of a huge corporation. In addition, they have to undergo to a prestigious school, study hard, have excellent grades in order to become popular and respectable in the world. However, many people would not become those super leaders, but these majority of people have a great role in the capitalism society of the US. As Gatto says, “We buy televisions, and then we buy the things we see on the television. We buy computers, and then we buy the things we see on the computer. We buy $150 sneakers whether we need them or not, and when they fall apart too soon we buy another pair” (38). Such results are in part of a wrong education that teenagers have received trough many decades. In addition, Gatto highlights that modern educational system has been working in a six basic functions methods that makes the system strong and unbreakable: The adjustable function, indulge students to respect authorities. The integrating function, which builds the personality of the students as similar to each other as possible. The diagnostic and directive function, which allows a school to set permanent scholar grades in order to determinate his or her future role in society. The differentiating function, which gives to the student a good education and after his or her role is diagnosed, they prevent any educational progress. The selective function, function that the system has used to prevent academic growth for the non-selected students. The propaedeutic function, which works in the selection of specific groups of intellectual adults to keep perpetuating the system all over again making it a continuous sequence. (Gatto 34). Mary’s aggression and motivation is what drives her to get her mother. When her mother was arrested she was alone. Mary loved her mother so much that she had to free her. When Mary couldn’t find her mother she became angry because Caleb seemed to give up hope. “Well, we must find out,” Mary said firmly. “Somehow, we must find out” (240). This motivation that she has helps her and Caleb to find their mother. Mary was also the one who came up with the plan to save Virginia Chase. If she would have PAGE 2 given so would everyone else. It was because of Mary that no one gave up or lost hope in their cause.
In Zeami Motokiyo’s Noh play, Atsumori, he retells the story of Atsumori as seen in Heiki Monogatari. The story revolves around the young Taira no Atsumori who was killed at the age of fifteen by Kumagai of the Minamoto clan during the Genpei War at Ichinotani. Atsumori was left behind and spotted by Kumagai along the Suma shore. Kumagai felt sorry for Atsumori because he was about the same age as one of his sons and was torn between whether or not to kill him. He decides to kill Atsumori because if he did not, then someone else from his clan would. He figured it would be better for him to do it because he would pray for Atsumori after his death. Shortly after killing Atsumori, Kumagai renounces his ways and becomes a monk name Rensho and travels back to Ichinotani to pay his respects to and pray for the soul of Atsumori. This play is a continuation from Heike Monogatari because it tells the tale of Kumagai and what he encounters in his new life as a monk while stressing the importance of Buddhist values, such as nonattachment and karma, and character transformation of warrior to priest and enemy to friend.
Toni Cade Bambara wrote the short story “The Lesson”, and in this story she writes about a teacher who not only teaches her students educational things, but she also teaches them the ways of life. Or another way to put it, she teaches them that they must get a good education in order to make something out of themselves. The class that the story is based on is mainly poor children and some wealthy children. Miss Moore is the teacher and she takes the class to a “rich people” toy store, and she lets the children walk around the store. When the children find something that interest them, Miss Moore will teach them accordingly to what the item is. The theme woven throughout the story is life lessons, particularly about how school relates to the world around the children, how money does not define them, and how society uses money in the wrong manners.
She has a secret dream of writing romance novels that no one, except her teacher, Mr. P, had known about. The book explains, "People just don 't live and hide in basements if they 're happy" (Alexie 39). Mary was not happy where she was at, she would not let anyone read her pieces of writing. Skip downing states in his article, “ Victims are people who do not feel they are in control of the outcomes in their lives” (Downing 42). The way she acted made it seem like she was not confident in what she had been doing. Victims, like Mary, feel they are stuck and that they have to support which makes their ability to reach their goals fall short. Mr. P explains, "She always thought people would make fun of her" (Alexie 37). All this has shown that being in the basement and not pursuing her dreams had taken a toll on her. Okonkwo and Frankenstein begin to experience hardships. When a boy named Ikemefuna is taken from another tribe, he is placed in Okonkwo’s household. He becomes like a son to Okonkwo, and is liked by all of his family. The clan decides that it is now time to kill Ikemefuna.
In conclusion, Mary is clearly shown to have a very manipulative and sinister character because she was a cold blooded murderer who had no feelings for her husband when she killed him, and she made people believe her grieving stories to make them feel sorry for her. But, all she wanted at the end was to cover up all of the evidence so she does not get caught and go to jail.
Mary describes the burning and chaotic scene from the Native American captors. She seems to be in control of her own life, however, when the attack occurs she loses her sense of self. “Thus these murderous wretches went on, burning and destroying before them.” This quote illustrates the situation at hand. Mary demonstrates a quick and receptive response to the Native Americans. “Of thirty-seven persons who were in this one house, none escaped either present death, or a bitter captivity, save only one, who might says as he, “And I only am escaped alone to tell the news.” Her husband, children, sister, and others in the house and in the surrounding areas were dead. Hatsumomo, is the antagonist of the novel and is always trying to make Chiyo suffer to get her to leave the okiya, which only provides conflict into the protagonist’s path towards maturation. “She can’t bear to have rivals”, reveals that even though Hatsumomo views herself as the the most beautiful geisha in Gion as pointed out by Awajiumi a retired sumo wrestler, “Maybe you’re just too pretty yourself to be able to see it elsewhere (Golden,123 & 60)”. She regards Chiyo as a rival because she finds her to be attractive contrast to Chiyo’s older sister, Satsu, who Hatsumomo refers as “That ugly sister of yours” to Chiyo (Golden, 48).
