Ryan Wiederhold Mr. Ioannidis English 10 B 2nd hour 01 March 2024 Everybody Makes Mistakes There were a bunch of deaths in the tragedy of Julius Caesar, but some things stuck out more than others. Most people die in tragic ways in this play, suicide, murder, honorable deaths. Julius Caesar was murdered by a group of conspirators. Marcus Brutus killed himself in an honorable way by running into his sword and his friend holding it. These two are the most tragic deaths, but one is more tragic than the other. Brutus had a lot of suspense building up to his death. Having all the stress and being accused of murder makes it very tragic. He had to kill his best friend to benefit the people of Rome. He had everything against him, which is very tragic. Everything was tragic right before his death. Caesar’s death was tragic, but not as tragic as Brutus’s was. Caesar had a lot of warnings coming at him about his death. It wasn't very surprising, there weren't a lot of issues coming from Caesar. He didn't have many people against or for him, he just had a group of people who were power hungry other than Brutus. He had a soothsayer telling him that the days of march were after him. His wife had a dream of a bloody statue that he died under. Brutus had more things against him and didn't have much to do when Caesar's ghost told him to die. He felt it was right to die when he regretted killing Caesar. After Caesar had been killed, Brutus' tragic flaws all happened at once. Caesar always had his flaws and they didn't change or come out at a bad time. Brutus also lost his wife before he died; when she killed herself, Brutus had more than a war, regrets, and Caesar's ghost told him to die. A lot more things for Brutus were tragic than Caesar. A lot of people before seeing the play “The Tragedy of Julius Caesar” didn’t even know who Brutus was. Which Brutus was more a main character than Caesar
