Josh Duggar’s Scandal is Still Negatively Affecting TLC In June of 2015, TLC decided to pull the hit reality TV show, 19 Kids and Counting, from the network due to the Josh Duggar Scandal. Records of Josh Duggar’s molestation charges went viral after the media found out that the oldest of the 19 kids was previously accused of molesting four of his sisters, along with a babysitter. After this news released, many became angry prompting the network to pull the show completely. Later, Josh Duggar admitted to cheating on his wife, Anna, when his account was found on Ashley Madison, a website for those who want to have an affair. Since then, TLC has decided to run a spin off series featuring the Duggar’s oldest children called, Jill and Jessa:

The number of sexually abused children is five times what it was in 2012. Jerry Sandusky has contributed to this statistic. Jerry Sandusky was the head coach of the Pennsylvania State Football team (Penn. State). He has a wife and a few children, some adopted from his charity organization, the second mile, but this did not stop him from committing the crimes he did. Jerry Sandusky was convicted of raping ten innocent children, some of which he met through his charity. This earned him thirty-sixty years behind bars. There are issues from this case that are similar to some issues in the play, Twelve Angry Men. Ultimately, throughout both cases the jury was faced with difficult decisions. In both cases the verdict took a long time and a lot of thinking. But, in the end both came out with the right resolution. Sandusky’s reputation of being the guy everyone looked up to made the overall decision of the jury, in this case, inordinately difficult.
Jodi Arias and Eva Dugan are both women who were convicted of murder and were sentenced to death in the state of Arizona. Jodi Arias was convicted of murdering her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander on May 8, 2013. Eva Dugan was convicted of murdering her employer chicken rancher Andrew J. Mathis in January of 1930.
The adverse subjects of child pornography and sex tapes have consistently been a controversy in the world. Today, there constantly seems to be a new sex scandal or pornography crime occurring. Sex tapes of celebrities are regularly circulating and they appear to be a popular topic to discuss. This was true when singer, R. Kelly, allegedly participated in a sex tape with a young girl. Kelly went to court on an account of child pornography instead of rape or sexual abuse.

Most media mainly focus their attention on violence, drug use, and crime. They only show what they feel will give them the most ratings by the end of the episode. Producers and directors do not really care about what they are making the African American community look like they only care about the money. It seems as if every reality show has to have a crazy black person, a black woman with an attitude or a thug like male role. Shaunie O’Neal, producer of hit reality show Basketball Wives, as well as an African American herself, continuously says the drama is too much and she wants a successful show, but by having people who do not really have much going for themselves or having people drama seekers on her show, what she says means nothing. She can fire whoever she would like to make her show how she would like it, but she keeps the cast the same for the ratings and the money. Shows that even African Americans do not care about how they are shown on television.

Lately, the top story in the news day after day, months after months have been about William Jefferson Clinton, also known as Bill. Who could blame them, there is nothing better than a story out of the ordinary, especially one with presidential status. For the past months he has been the most talked about figure, being the essential topic for news, talk shows, late night comedy and even going as far as the big screen. Talk about 'Primary Colors' and 'Wag the Dog.' What has gotten to me the most however, were the constant flow of Republicans, along with a few Democrats, who just want to say how shocked and embarrassed they are along with the people of the United States.The president had not just become the most talked about figure, but also one history had ever seen, so far that is, breaking the record and becoming a topic of conversation and debate 'twenty-four seven.' The people, who I think were most affected by this crisis and feel very sad for, are the Republicans, since they had lost severe amount of sleep over the president's bedroom crisis. They had to perform their republican duties by shocking our brains with the president's affair with Monica Lewinsky. We had to ignore the rest of the world news and its issues while they plough through the valley of lies, abuse of power and something they called high crimes and misdemeanors.
It is true that there have been cases of priest abusing kids but the Catholic Church do not believe it is because the priest are not married. For a person to sexually abuse a child means the person is sick. There are normal people who abuse children sexually and they are referred to as people who are mentally sick and so a priest should be no different. Finding priests who abuse young children sexually is just like sexual abuse in a family which is called incest e.g. a father sleeping with his daughter or mother sleeping with son. This is not to say that it is a normal thing but it should not be blamed on the fact that the priests are not married.

It is not the producers fault if the show is a bad influence on kids if it is the parents fault for letting them watch it even after the warning speech it gives at the beginning. if you dont have children and just dont like that kind of television genre, then its okay because everyone has their own opinion. Reality tv should not have regulations. It is up to the viewers on whether they want to watch or not so if they don’t like it, well then just change the channel.
