Joseph Stalin got his way of power unique how does a pig represent him in animal farm gets the power is even more interesting. Animal farm is a political allegory based on the russian revolution. The author is George Orwell of Animal farm. Manor farm has a bad farmer who keeps getting drunk and doesn't care for his people so the people gather up and hear old major (Vladimir Lenin and Karl Marx ) gave his famous speech. Three days later he dies and the animals revolt and they choose pigs as leaders some of the smartest ones are Snowball-Leon Trotsky, Squealer-Propaganda, and Napoleon-Joseph Stalin. So Napoleon is a intelligent pig who gains control by using his intelligence after they revolt against farmer Mr.jones and his men that work on the farm. Soon Napoleon really starts using intelligence when he takes the 9 dogs from Jessie and Bluebell and “ educate them “ but later uses the dogs to chase snowball off the farm. The evidence for Napoleon power is “ in august Napoleon announced work on sundays.”(Orwell) So what this means explicitly is that they will now be work on sundays but implicitly it means he has a lot of power to change when there will be work on. Napoleon got all his power through intelligence and manipulating other animals with lies. Napoleon is said to be the smartest animal on the farm no one is really allowed to go against Napoleon beliefs or they get executed. Almost all animals on farm help Napoleon and he lies to maintain control over farm. Napoleon is a very corrupt and selfish ruler aswell on the farm. This is what Squealer was told to say by Napoleon“ afterwards Squealer was sent round farm to explain the new arrangement to the others… “comrade he said I trust everyone appreciates Napoleon's sacrifice.”(Orwell) Explicitly this is basically saying that all the animals should appreciate Napoleon sacrifice that he made supposedly. Implicitly Squealer is sent to make sure people have to believe that Napoleon did good for this farm and he is falsely telling the other animals about Napoleon's sacrifice and lying. So Squealer represents propaganda and he always lies that’s why he gained his power in the first place. Squealer is not the main leader he is smart enough to make animals think that white is black. He always manipulates his powers through lies and ability to convince animals that he is always correct or Napoleon is always correct. Lastly Snowball used his intelligence because he wanted control. So Napoleon and Snowball are both power hungry but very intelligent pigs on the farm in fact smartest ones on the farm.
