The Jordan Rules were an important aspect for the rivals of the Chicago Bulls the Detroit Pistons in the 1980’s and early 1990’s. This style of defense limited the players of the Bulls defense including Jordan from entering the paint and was carried out by Dennis Rodman and Bill Laimbeer. The Rules were most effective for the Bulls opponents during their first three playoff games. Detroit beat Chicago 4 games to 1 in the 1988 Eastern Conference semifinals using these Rules. When Michael was in the tenth grade he got cut from his high school team and played junior varsity. He was very upset with the decision that the coach had made. He thought he was good enough to be a varsity player. Throughout the season on JV, Michael dominated. He averaged well over twenty points and had several forty point games.
