Two artists lived in New York. One of these artist Johnsey caught a sickness at a young age. Although Johnsy’s memories of this sickness stayed present. Johnsey has become a renowned award winning artists. She is proud of her accomplishments but always remembers the reason why she pursued it. She did not just enjoy art she obsessed over it. Her reasoning was that if a person can save my life with art I will do the same.
A knock at the door startled her out of concentration on her new art piece. Johnsy placed her art supplies on the table next to her and began to walk to the door, while the old wooden floors squeak at every step. The door handle rusted almost to the point it could not turn, she opened the door to an old friend.
“Hello Johnsey,

She didn't wanted anymore disturbances even from her caretaker as a child. It was not that she did not love her. Her focus on her art made her distant from everybody. She stayed in the same building from her younger days by the same window she watched the leaves fall. Every winter all the leaves would fall except one. Jonhsy would say, “always without life, yet always with meaning.”
Jonhsy painted by the tattered window with cracking wood and a broken window. As time rode past more and more paintings where finished the leaf on the vine began to wash away. Johnsy watched this leaf as a child and now as an adult. It had been almost 40 years since the illness had come across Greenwich village. The disease was like a mouse (simile) quiet and unexpected. As winter was around the corner Johnsy began to prepare her home. It was more tattered and broken then she has remembered and did the best she could to patch the holes. One day when snow began to fall Jonhsy was working on a painting and realized she ran out of some blue for the sky. She did not want to leave her home without somebody knowing she was gone. She went to get the home phone and called Sue.
“Hello sue, it’s Jonhsy.” Said

“Jonhsy! Hello how can I help you?”
“I am going to get more paint’s, I wanted to know if you would like to come with me.” said Jonhsy
“Yes, of course I will be there soon!”said Sue. “No i will come meet you.”
She hung up the phone before she could say anything more.
Johnsy put her boots on and her jacket. She walked out the front door turned the rusty door knob and went to go see Sue. Jonhsy and sue had not had an interaction like this in a very long time and Sue was excited that Johnsy wanted to see her. Sue waited at her home, for an hour then became worried. Sue picked up her phone and called Johnsy to see if she was home. No answer. Sue then dialed 9 1 1. There was a search for johnsy and a storm began to roll in.
……..
The next morning Jonhsy was in her bed looking out the window at the vine. Once again like when she was a child. Sue walked in and saw her staring at the window shade. “I know you want to see the vine, but the window is cracked and it will let cold air in,” said Sue
There was no answer. Jonhsy signaled with her hand to open the shade. Sue did so. “I have some soup made for you come and eat it

Jonas wakes up in a home made out of logs. The man, who saved Jonas and Gabe, was making a fire. "Who are you?" Jonas asked the man. "I'm John and you and the little one with you are lucky to be alive." Jonas paused for a moment "Thank you for saving us." "What were you thinking when you went out in that blizzard?" John asked. "Its a long story." Jonas said in a scared tone.
Crossing the porch where we had dined that June night three months before, I came to a small rectangle of light which I guessed was the pantry window. The blind was drawn, but I found a rift at the sill.
Filban said the home had a yard that was overgrown. “The trees and bushes were overgrown, and the house was dark,” Filban said. “And the windows were covered.” She and her sister slept in the front bedroom of the house. She remembers the bedroom having a large, floor-to-ceiling window. She said you could look out and see the wra...
Art is a very important part of humanity’s history, and it can be found anywhere from the walls of caves to the halls of museums. The artists that created these works of art were influenced by a multitude of factors including personal issues, politics, and other art movements. Frida Kahlo and Vincent van Gogh, two wildly popular artists, have left behind artwork, that to this day, influences and fascinates people around the world. Their painting styles and personal lives are vastly different, but both artists managed to capture the emotions that they were feeling and used them to create artwork.
Marie’s grandparent’s had an old farm house, which was one of many homes in which she lived, that she remembers most. The house was huge, she learned to walk, climb stairs, and find hiding places in it. The house had a wide wrap around porch with several wide sets of stairs both in front and in back. She remembers sitting on the steps and playing with one of the cats, with which there was a lot of cats living on the farm...
The room is silent, lit by a single flickering candle, and the shine of a full moon through the window. Candy and George are sitting in the bunkhouse seemingly lost in their own thoughts. It’s been 24 hours since Lennie and Curley's wife have passed, but the tension is still heavy in the air for many folks. Georges eyes drooped low, slightly watered at the rims. Curley, sitting on the other side of the room, stared blankly at the candle with an expressionless face. George jerked quickly towards Candy.
Hallie stated walking back home. She had seen enough decorations. It was time for her to finish the final decorations on her house. Once Hallie got home, her mom was outside putting up all of the lights. Hallie just made a couple of newspaper ghosts and hung them up in the tree outside of her window. It was getting dark, so Hallie’s mom said she would finish up and let Hallie get some rest.
My body stood stagnant while my eyes stared at the LOVE mural in Highland Town. My facial expressions showed concentration yet my mind was a revolving door of words formulating into questions and incomplete thoughts. This simple four letter word made me feel so many emotions that never wanted to stay suppressed. “Hey kid, you know I created this to make people happy right?” I looked over at the well-known street artists and gave him a slight chuckle “Yeah…funny isn’t?” Michael gave me a quizzical look “That something created out of genuine joy, makes someone want to cry.” “It evokes emotion…you’re feeling what this city is crying for — love.” I nodded my head and continued to allow the revolving door to spin thoughts in and out of my mind. I diverted my view from the mural I saw on basically every hipster's laptop and back at the man who created this art. Michael nodded at me as if silently saying, “Go ahead and say it.” “How do you validate your art as true art?” I cringed at the way I had worded the question. Michael gave me a small smirk “You feel something in your chest right?” I nodded “Then its art kid.”
She started to walk in the same direction as the man when she realized what she was doing is dangerous and could end up really bad. “I have college to look forward to I can’t do this” she thought aloud. She walked onto her front porch and into her house.Kaylee then laid in her bed staring at the ceiling waiting to fall asleep. Little did she know this man would reappear in her life very
Throughout my undergraduate education, I discovered the healing effects of art. As someone affected by mental health issues, I found power in expressing and processing my mental frustrations and emotions through artwork. Art has always been a consistent outlet for alleviating my problems. I found that reflecting on, creating and observing art helped me processed my problems and move past them. Soon after, I sought out and wanted to become a part of a support system for young adults. Through my own healing process and that of my loved ones, I became interested in and developed a passion for mental health.
A shovel scrapping cement, the unmistaken reminder that life goes on even in winter. Esther slowly awoke, stretched, and glanced at the clock setting by her head. Suddenly, bolting upright she reached for the alarm clock, simultaneously threw the covers from her body, and swung her feet to the floor. Nine o’clock, how could that be? It was only six moments ago. She looked around the room disoriented, the phones lay by her bedside, the paperback had fallen to the floor, beside an empty tumbler sat the youthful face of her mother, smiling. Mother. She had slept through their ritual of exchanging early morning phone calls. Oh, well. Lazily she reached for the Motorola phone and flipped it open. Holding down the number 2 she dragged her free hand over her forehead raking back the strands of hair to lift them from her face and slowly shrunk back into the hollow her body had left in the bed, resting her head on the pillows. No answer. Esther unconsciously tugged the quilt up over her breast and covered her flannel night shirt seeking warmth. Well, it was Monday morning after all. Mondays were mother’s day out, communing with lady friends, sharing events of the weekend, and plotting new adve...
The arts have influenced my life in amazing ways. Throughout my life, art has been the place I run to and my escape from the world. As I’ve grown older, art has become so much more than that. Every piece of art I create is a journey into my soul. It’s a priceless way to deal with my emotions and my struggles. I create art not only because I enjoy it and because I want to, but because I have to. Somewhere deep inside there is a driving force, urging me to put my heart down on paper. I become emotionally attached to each of my pieces because they are like dashes on the wall marking my growth. Each one is the solution to a problem I have dealt with and overcome.
I climbed the steps the rotting front door and pushed it open with both hands. The smell of damp engulfed me as I stepped over the threshold and clumps of ash were pumped into the air as I continued onto the carpet. As I passed through, I traced my hands on the familiar wallpaper before placing my hands on the shiny doorknob to the kitchen. I twisted it, listening to the scratching of...
