Johnny is a pretty popular name; ranked number two hundred ninety-nine in America. According to the web, the name has a hard-working image. Johnny Depp, a movie actor, Johnny bravo a cartoon character, Johnny from the folktale Johnny Appleseed, the list goes on. Seems like some popular figures allowed the name to gain fame.
Named after my gynecologist at birth, I don't know anything about him. All I know is that he was a Vietnamese doctor, which most likely influenced my family to name me Johnny even more.
My mom gave the honors of naming to my dad. My dad was then debating before the birth either to give me a foreign name or an American name. Originally my name was Gia Bao Dao and was out of

my reach to pronounce. He decided that my future would be exceedingly way easier for me to have an American name. At birth, my dad saw my doctor's nameplate, "Johnny Nguyen". He said the name stood out to him, so he named me after my doctor. But somehow there was a flaw during the making of my birth certificate. My name was misspelled as Jhonny and my parents then had to go correct it.
At school, my name is simple to get down and remembered. Teachers don't need to struggle to try to pronounce my name like some of the cultural diverse students I like my name, maybe because I've been called by it for 13 years now, and I wouldn't change it at all..
As time moves on, I would like to meet success just like the famous Depp. Live up to my name like how other Johnny's do. "Go! Johnny! Go!" one of my teachers would cheer for me.
