In life we all go through certain situations that we let our impulses take over. We are humans and we make mistakes and that helps us grow and become better human beings. As we all age, maturity and wisdom is gained through all experiences. We are all required to deal with the realities of the real world and learn how to handle the responsibilities that are given to us. Life is full of various difficulties but it always gets better. The majority of times we don’t like our lives, jobs etc.. All we can do is try to get better and find ways we can change our current life and reach our goals. From the beginning of the story, you can see that Sammy is disinterested, doesn't like his job and the people that surround him. To him the people around him are boring and useless. They all live there life like zombies and Sammy sure doesn't want to become one of them. I bet you could set off dynamite in A&P and the people would by and large keep reaching and checking oatmeal off their lists and muttering “Let me see, there was a third thing, began with A, asparagus, no, ah, yes, applesauce!” or whatever it is they do mutter.
