John Keats was one of the greatest poets of the Romantic Era. He wrote poetry of great sensual beauty and had a unique passion for details. In his lifetime he was not recognized with the senior poets. He didn’t receive the respect he deserved. He didn’t fit into the respected group because of his age, nor in the younger group because he was neither a lord nor in the upper class. He was in the middle class and at that time people were treated differently because of their social status.
John Keats was born in London on October 31, 1795. He was educated at Clarke’s School in Enfield. He enjoyed a liberal education that mainly reflected on his poetry. His father died when he was eight and his mother died when he was fourteen. After his mother died, his maternal grandmother granted two London merchants, John Rowland Sandell and Richard Abbey, guardianship. Abbey played a major roll in the development of Keats, as Sandell only played a minor one. These circumstances drew him extremely close to his two brothers, George and Tom, and his sister Fanny. When he 15, Abbey removed him from the Clarke School, as he became an apothecary-surgeon’s apprentice. Then in 1815, he became a student at Guy’s Hospital. He registered for a six- month course to become a licensed surgeon. Soon after he decided he was going to be a doctor he realized his true passion was in poetry. So he decided he would try to excel in poetry also. His poetry that he wrote six years before his death was not very good. As his life progressed his poetry became more mature and amazing. He looked up to Shakespeare and Milton. He studied a lot of there poetry and imitated these two writers. His work resembled Shakespeare.
Soon after medical school, he returned to London and met Leigh Hunt. They began to write the Examiner, which was love poetry. In his lifetime he published three books of verse: Poems (1817), Endymion (1818), Lamia Isabella and other poems including two famous poems “Odes'; and “Hyperion.';
Hunt then introduced him to a circle of literary men, including Percy Bysshe Shelley and William Wordsworth. These men influenced him to create his first volume of verses, called Poems by John Keats. Shelly persisted that he needed to develop a stronger body of work before publishing.
Fifteen years separate Washington Irving’s short story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” with Nathaniel Hawthorne’s short story, “Young Goodman Brown.” The two share an eerie connection because of the trepidation the two protagonists endure throughout the story. The style of writing between the two is not similar because of the different literary elements they choose to exploit. Irving’s “Sleepy Hollow” chronicles Ichabod Crane’s failed courtship of Katrina Van Tassel as well as his obsession over the legend of the Headless Horseman. Hawthorne’s story follows the spiritual journey of the protagonist, Young Goodman Brown, through the woods of Puritan New England where he looses his religious faith. However, Hawthorne’s work with “Young Goodman Brown” is of higher quality than Irving’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” because Hawthorne succeeds in exploiting symbols, developing characters, and incorporating worthwhile themes.
He then spent 11 months at the University of Virginia but due to his gambling problem, his guardian refused to let him continue his schooling. In 1827 he published his first collection of poems. His poems didn’t do so

“The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” by Washington Irving is a tale that has many different interpretations. One interpretation, in particular, is that of the supernatural and the headless horseman. The history of the town is peculiar, there is also a history of ghosts and mischief going on in the woods. This story mainly focuses on Ichabod Crane and what really happens to him at the end of the story when he is gone suddenly one night. Through the history and setting, chaos is ensured through people leaving suddenly, which gives Sleepy Hollow a haunted essence. Irving uses the character, Ichabod Crane, to show how the supernatural and history of the town are involved with Ichabod leaving town.
...than usual and Katerina seems to disappoint him and leaves him crestfallen. On his way home he finds a dark and creepy path he takes and sees a dark figure nearby that passes. He finally notices that the man on the horse has no head. He tries to get his horse to go faster but fails, because he is not a skilled rider. He ends up by the church where the Headless Horseman is known to be seen. The Headless Horseman follows and with his detached head throws it at Ichabod forcing him to fall off his horse. The next day, there is no sign of Ichabod, but the horse returns back to the owner’s farm. Later a group of people go looking for Ichabod and all they find is his hat next to a smashed pumpkin. Some people believe that Brom pulled a great prank, but the local folklore and old women know he was taken by the Headless Horseman. Ichabod is never seen again in Sleepy Hallow.
William Yeats is deliberated to be among the best bards in the 20th era. He was an Anglo-Irish protestant, the group that had control over the every life aspect of Ireland for almost the whole of the seventeenth era. Associates of this group deliberated themselves to be the English menfolk but sired in Ireland. However, Yeats was a loyal affirmer of his Irish ethnicity, and in all his deeds, he had to respect it. Even after living in America for almost fourteen years, he still had a home back in Ireland, and most of his poems maintained an Irish culture, legends and heroes. Therefore, Yeats gained a significant praise for writing some of the most exemplary poetry in modern history
It is a dark, misty night in Sleepy Hollow with gusts of wind that’d give a chill to anyone’s body. In the distance birds were chirping along with a perplexing scream. No one dared to go out at night because it was terrifying to the average person. Ichabod, a respected school teacher, was not the average person. He went for a stroll, as he always did, a decision he will soon regret.
Nathaniel Hawthorne, an American writer was the child of Elizabeth Clarke Manning and Nathaniel Hawthorne. He was born on July 4, 1804 in Salem, Massachusetts. He is a descendent of a long line of Puritan ancestors which of one is his great-grandfather John Hathorne who was a judge in the Salem witch trials. He was not proud of his family’s background and in order to disassociate himself with them he added a “w” to his last name to make it Hawthorne.
On of the most influential romantic English poets of the 19th century was Percy Bysshe Shelley. He was born August 4th 1792 to Sir Timothy and Elizabeth Pilford Shelley in Field Place, Horsham, Sussex, England. (Crook) Shelley was the oldest of six children. He had one brother, John and four sisters, Mary, Elizabeth, Hellen, and Margaret. His family lived a very comfortable lifestyle, especially his dad’s father, Bysshe Shelley whom owned quite a few estates. Shelley’s father was also a member of parliament.
Nathaniel Hawthorne, born on July 4, 1804 in Salem, Massachusetts, was an American writer. He was the descendent of a long line of Puritans, including the magistrate during the Salem Witch Trials, John Hathorne. The “w” in his name was added to distinguish himself from another writer with the same last name as himself, and also to distance himself from his family’s involvement in the Salem Witch Trials which brought upon a great deal of shame. After his father, died of yellow fever at sea when Hawthorne was but four years old, his mother became overly protective and pushed him toward scholarly things rather than hobbies of any physical danger. His childhood left him fairly timid, intelligent, and bookish, which formed the mold for him to become a writer.
Concrete today is considered by many modern engineers and architects as a more efficient and effective alternative to steel n regards to the creation of buildings, ranging from low-story apartments to neck-breaking skyscrapers. Through the rapid growth and development of the world's major metropolises and growing cities, concrete today has become one of the most important building materials to date. According to the World Business Counsel for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), “it has become the most consumed substance on earth, only superseded by water, with three tons for each person used annually” (World). This huge demand for concrete makes the cement industry one of the world's largest carbon dioxide producers, accounting for about five percent of all man-made pollution. “Approximately one ton of carbon dioxide is put into the atmosphere for every ton of cement used” (World). The cause for this problem is the increase of the global population and the increasing demand for land and energy. It's effect is that as the population continues to increase, it forces builders and developers to meet the quota of creating unlimited amounts of infrastructure within a limited resource-filled world. Knowing this, a proposed and widely agreed solution is to make the concrete in an environmentally-conscious way that will incorporate more demolished concrete, scrap from past projects, and other recycled aggregates.
Concrete is used from the ground up in the construction of buildings. Foundations are made using concrete, and every from that point up can also employ concrete. As a result, the specifications of this concrete must be more stringent than the concrete used to support the aforementioned fence post, and with increased specifications comes more specialized installation practices. While Quikrete can be mixed and forgotten about, much of the work done for buildings requires much more careful monitoring over an extended period of time. In addition, sometimes even concrete is not strong enough on its own. As a result, sometimes concrete must be installed with a particular gauge of rebar installed in various spots in order to reinforce the concrete. These specifications are very specific, and it is an exact science. A contractor must be aware of these things ahead of time, and must be sure that they have the personnel and the training necessary to adequately install this

Robert Browning established some great works in the 18th century his poems had dramatic verses and a dramatic style. Browning took off very slowly but when he did he became very noticed in the English society and his hard work eventually took off and got noticed also. Browning symbolizes the dramatic monologue like for example, in his poem ‘’my last duchess’’ he gave out conclusions through his characters actions. Browning was influenced by many other poets and events that took place in the 18th century. To begin, my author is named Robert browning and he was born on May 7th, 1812 in Camberwell, England. Browning is a middle class suburb of London he was the first born of his parents and the only boy he had one sister named Sarianna Browning. His mom was a good Christian and a pianist while his father worked as a clerk at a bank. His father was an also an artist, scholar and collector of books. Most of browning education came from his father because he was very smart when Browning turned 5 he was already proficient at reading and writing. Browning was very much influenced by Percy Shelley poetry and by his 13th birthday he wanted the rest of his works. Her and Browning kept their marriage a secret because her father ...
In my personal experiences, social media caused social division due to existing lifestyles, hobbies, and fashion caused by sites being liked by certain social groups in my high school. Boyd in her article quotes a comment made by a student named Craig where his description of the segregation caused by social media “focuses on a comparison of MySpace and Facebook to a series of lifestyle brands” (413). While my high school was not clearly segregated into cliques, friend groups were usually made due to similar hobbies, such as sports, or similar interests such as fashion or comics. It was during high school that the popularity of social media became apparent to me, and honestly before high school and the introduction of social media I can’t remember what I had done online. By then Facebook was considered a site that everyone used, there was no social segregation. However, there was a segregation between people who used Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr. When I first started learning about social media I was told that Instagram was used by the “preps”, anyone who was considered “social” and “popular” and usually played sports. Twitter was for “hipsters” whom were people that scorned the “preps” and liked grunge fashion and alternative music. Tumblr, the social media website I initially joined,
