John was born on June 22, 1903 in the Oak Hill section of Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the youngest of two children, his sister was Audrey Dillinger. His father was referred to as a harsh man who was very firm with his discipline. At the age of 4, his mother passed, resulting in Audrey caring for John until their father remarried in 1912. After his father was remarried, he was given 3 more half siblings; Hubert, Doris, and Francis Dillinger. It was said that originally, john despised his step mother, but that changed and he came to fall in love with her and the two had a 3 year relationship. As a …show more content…
teenager, john was known for getting in trouble with the law frequently for charges such as petty theft, and assault/battery. He was also known for his so called “bewildering personality” and constant bullying of smaller and younger children. He eventually quit school to work at a machine shop, where he did infect work very hard. Despite his hard work, his father came to believe the city was corrupting his son due to his constant partying and late nights out, resulting in the family movie to Mooresville, Indiana, a more rural location, in 1921. The change in scenery did not have any effect on john’s rebellious behavior. Eventually, in 1922, john was arrested for auto theft, bringing about the retrogression of the relationship between himself and his father. He then enlisted himself in the United States navy where his was a Fireman 3rd Class assigned aboard the USS Utah. This didn’t last long, a few months later he fled while the battleship was docked in Boston, resulting in his dishonorable discharge. After his discharge, he returned to Mooresville in 1924 where he met and married Beryl Ethel Hovious. During the summer of 1924 john played as shortstop on the Martinsville baseball team. During his time on the team, he met a man named Edgar singleton who soon became john’s first partner in crime. Their first attempt at committing a robbery together went awfully, resulting in the two of them being sentenced to jail time. While john was imprisoned in the Indiana state reformatory, he met two men by the names of Harry Pierpont and homer van Meter. These men too became his crime companions. John’s wife, beryl, did not take the separation well, as she divorced him June 20th, 1929, breaking his heart two days before his birthday. John was later denied parole due to the fact he was not an exemplary prisoner due to his unsuccessful attempts at prison break. He later asked to be transferred to Indiana state prison in Michigan City, Indiana. He told the officials his reasoning was they had a better baseball team, but in reality he wanted to join friends, harry and homer, who had been transferred a while before him. Once reunited, they began to plan out their escape and future crimes. In May of 1933, john was notified that his stepmother was near death, resulting in him being granted parole.
He took advantage of this and joined some of harry and homers accomplices and they netted about 50,000$ worth of dirty money by multiple robberies allowing him to put the escape plan in motion. Coincidentally, the day harry and homer managed to escape, john was arrested and incarcerated ay the lime, Ohio jail. This happened to be very close to harry and homers hideout so john was quickly broken out of jail by his accomplices. Right after their succsesfull prison break, the gang went off to chigago where they planned and organized one of the most deadly bank robbing gangs in the country. The gang went on a crime spree, robbing banks all over illonoius, Indiana and wesconson. After a while, they decided to move to Arizona due to the police searching all over the Midwest for them. They decided, before they left, to rob the first national bank of Gary, Indiana. This robbery did not end well, it resulted in the injury of his partner and john murdered a police officer during their escape. After arriving in Arizona, the gang was rounded up by police and all were assigned to different states for
trial. While awaiting trial, he was placed in Crown Point Prison, where he later escaped on March 3, 1934, without a single shot fired. After escaping, john put together a new gang, but the member where not carefully chosen, and located themselves in St. Paul, Minnesota. They proceeded to go on a crime spree in 4 states, robbing half a dozen banks. On April 24, 1934, the gang was laying low at a lodge called little bohemia in Wisconsin, when the FBI arrived and mistook 3 civilians for part of the gang, and proceeded to shoot them. The FBI's mistake alerted the gang and the lodge broke out into an explosion of gun fires and the gang successfully escaped. Johns notoriety and fame made his lifestyle very difficult as he was labeled as public enemy number one and placed a 10,000$ reward on his head. To avoid being caught, john stayed at jimmy Probasco's house for about a month as he underwent crude plastic surgery. On June 30th, 1934, john robbed his last bank, the Merchants National Bank in south bend, Indiana. On July 22, 1934, john was set up by an acquaintance, Anna sage, who was romantically involved with an FBI agent. She informed the FBI agent that she and john would be attending the movies that day at 5:00 pm, where they saw him and fired 4 bullets, only one being fatal. John was then taken to Alexian Brothers hospital and pronounced dead. His lifeless body was then taken back to Mooresville, Indiana, to McCready funeral home where his sister, Audrey confirmed the identification of his body. He was given a Christian burial and laid to rest in his family plot at Crown hill cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana on July 25, 1934.

One of the most horrendous serial killers in modern history would have to be John Wayne Gacy, Jr. He was the second of three children and born in 1942. He lived in Chicago and attended catholic schools, and wasn't a very popular boy in school. Gacy seemed to live a very normal childhood, with exception to his relationship with his father, and series of accidents that effected him. No one could have known what the future held for John, not even his father.
John Quincy Adams once said, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” After getting a behind the scenes look at J. Edgar Hoover’s life and accomplishments I consider him to be a very influential leader. I was always familiar with the name J. Edgar Hoover, but I never fully understood his impact on the United States. Edgar, as his mother would call him, wasn’t a perfect man by any standards. He was born with a variety of traits that contribute to his leadership. Some of these traits attributed to his downfall. Throughout the movie there were many instances that tested his leadership in both negative and in positive ways.

For the past century and a half bank robbing has been a major crime throughout the world that law enforcers are trying to crack down on. During the modern world we live in now many banks have put in high tech security systems trying to stop these men from stealing all of their money. As people may imagine bank robbers have had to change their plans in order for them to get away with how they go about taking the money and having a successful getaway. Today people that want to rob a bank have to go through extreme planning to make sure they are not caught. Many of them go after hours so they stay away from potential problems that may arouse when their are others around. Back in the 1920’s that was not the case with the back robbers of that day because they did not have cameras or security systems that they have today. The first banker robber that started it all for others was a famous man by the name of Herman Lamm who robbed his first bank in 1913 (“Bio.com”). Other great bank thieves like Pretty Boy Floyd, Baby Face Nelson, and the most famous of all John Dillinger studied and imitated the majestic still of Lamm. John Dillinger was considered the most brilliant and efficient bank robber of all-time and eventually earned the title from the FBI as Public Enemy Number One. In almost two whole years Dillinger and his men robbed a total of twenty-eight banks and took a total of 760,000 dollars which in todays world would be about ten million dollars (“Bio.com”). The FBI covered up the killing of John Dillinger because he was not only public enemy number one and a banker robber but he was a man of the people.

It all started May 29, 1917 in Brookline, Massachusetts, the day John F. Kennedy was born. Jack as the Kennedy’s called him was born to the parents Joseph P. and Rose Kennedy. Jack may not have been the first born in the family, but he certainly wasn’t the last. He was born as the second child out of nine children in the family, and they all were successful. All eleven of the Kennedy’s lived in a clapboard house in Brookline, a town just outside of Boston. Jack had a lot to live up to though, being the second born and also being named after Rose’s father John F. Fitzgerald, or Honey Fitz as some referred to him as. Honey Fitz was a popular politician and a former mayor of Boston.
A serial killer is defined in Webster's Dictionary as someone who murders more than three victims one at a time in a relatively short period of time. There is no one generic profile to identify a serial killer. They usually are people seeking for a sensation, a lack of guilt or remorse, a need for control, impulsivity, and predatory behavior. These traits make up a psychopathic personality disorder. Psychopathy is a disorder manifested in people who use a mixture of charm, manipulation, manipulation, and occasional violence to control others, in order to satisfy their own wants and needs. There are four main types of serial killers; thrill seekers, mission-oriented, visionary serial killers, and power and control killers. There may be other
John Dillinger was born on June 22, 1903, in Indianapolis. Three years later his mother died; his father remarried six years afterwards, but Dillinger resented his stepmother. Being raised by a very strict father, who invoked disciplinary extremes, Dillinger became a troublemaker. Dillinger quit school and got a job, but quickly got bored and decided to stay out all night. His father was concerned that city life was corrupting his son, so he decided to move his family to Indiana. However, the move made no difference, since Dillinger began to act the same as he had in the city. After a “break with his father and trouble with the law” Dillinger enlisted in the Navy (“Famous Cases,” n.d). In the Navy, Dillinger got into trouble and decided to leave his ship and move to Indiana, where he married 16-year-old Beryl Hovius in 1924. Both Dillinger and Hovius moved to Indianapolis with a “dazzling dream of bright lights and excitement” (“Famous Cases,” n.d). However, Dillinger had no luck finding work due to the Depression, and joined the “town pool shark, Ed Singleton” in search of easy money.
