Everyone is different. In high school, people make sure you know that. I used to think that stereotypes were silly, that they weren't applicable to reality. However, over time I have realized that an endless amount of stereotypical kids are inside the walls of our everyday high schools.
First are the highest in power, of course, the “jocks”. Movies often portray them as big muscular and dumb. Normally this accusation is false. The jocks I have come to know are always different, but they all take pride in one thing, competing. Males focus hard on their game and are known for being funny. Athletes are popular in a different way known to be playful, energetic and friendly. They are popular with every crowd in unique ways. Their attire consists mostly of Nike, Adidas, or any type of fitness fashion, new or worn.
Following at the second highest in power, are the brains. Usually the athletes fit into this category as well, showing passion for their game but also focus on their education. This group consists of people who make excellent grades and are involved in excessive activities, such as Student Counsel, Key Club, NHS, FFA, and UIL all at the same time! These people are
regularly overwhelmed and extremely busy but determined and successful. The style here is not specific in genre; everyone seems to have their own distinct taste.
The next group is the scene kids. Scene is a term for pop gothic. These people try to be excessively different in order to draw attention to their “uniqueness”. They’re typically seen wearing neon colors with black and are leopard or zebra print obsessed. Their hair is dyed at least two different colors and cut at different angles, most always parted to the side causing bangs to mysteriously cover half their face.
