The CIA was allowed to use private fiscal and govern technique. Also, the Agency was free from various usual limitations on the expenditure of funds. I am extremely interested in this job as CIA agent because I have great foreign language, computer, and communication skills. If there were any one person that needs help, I would want to help them. Keeping any and all threats away from the people of America is my number one believe. So being able to have a career in helping American citizens is something I would be glad to do so.

dollars. When working in a specific environment /profession, there’s always advantages and disadvantages. One peculiar advantage of being an agent is knowing how to be creative constantly. Another advantage working for the CIA is great benefits. A disadvantage would be that they have a classified work environment, which is restrictive. Finally, the most important advantage of working for the CIA is serving and protecting your nation and pride. The last disadvantage would be that work efficiency and personal life can be affected when working in classified environments. Common myths about being a CIA agent include: going to cocktail parties, driving the most expensive and fastest cars, traveling around the globe, etc.
Even though you might have seen situations like that in James Bonds movies, not all are considered 100% fact. In fact, some agent cars are not that exciting at all. agents are supposed to blend into the background, being unnoticed. Depending on what part of the world you're assigned in, you might even have no type of vehicle. Purchasing a car that may not be in the best position may be just what you have to do, just so you're unnoticeable in that specific environment. If traveling around the world excites you then having a career, as a CIA agent would definitely be the best option. Although a majority of agents work in the United States. Officers who are exposed to flying around the world can be exciting, but sooner or later one may get tired of all the airport rituals, bumpy flights, and uncomfortable seats. Even though most are only about eighty percent true, one must remember that a CIA agent is an ordinary
person. Education is an immense part of being apart of the CIA. Training is not all about physical strength or problem-solving. Most of the ideas and strategies that are planned come from analyzing data. Which means knowing how to read and write. Finding coordinates to a specific location includes knowing how to plot and graph points, using your math skills. Another component of education is knowing history in every aspect of the world. Even knowing a foreign language is important, when you have an insider who doesn’t speak English, you're still able to gather Intel. Being interested in this career field comes with knowing math, English, world history, foreign language, etc. Throughout history, agents have been using secret codes, scripted messages and more to get information to other agents. In order to pass messages to one another in secret, agents made use of some everyday items. During the Cold War, agents would tie their shoelaces in a specific way that acted as coded messages to other agents. For example, if two agents were to walk into the same room and had information to give, one agent would simply glance at his shoes to see a design that would signal, “I have information.” Shoelaces would also be tied in many different designs meaning different information. Some shoelaces meant, “Follow me.” or “I brought someone with me.” Secret codes have been used all through history, by using everyday objects that may seem useful just for a particular setting, agents use the items and created a message.
The American Revolution saw the rise of the American spy, and the father of these spies was George Washington, commander in Chief of the Continental Army. The siege of New York demonstrated the importance and dire need for intelligence to General Washington. Unfortunately, the difficulty, at least initially, lies with finding people willing and able to serve in this manner. Upon recognizing the necessity for a network of subterfuge, Washington created the Culper spy ring. Housed in New York City under the command of Colonel Benjamin Tallmadge, its purpose was more than merely gaining intelligence.
After World War II American intelligence had the need to be transformed. The inexperience along with bureaucracy and poor coordination among American intelligence officers obligated the United States intelligence community to change dramatically in order to confront the new challenges that emerged after the end of WWII. From Early America through WWI the intelligence system of the United States of America was involved in operations in which they had to construct intelligence systems virtually from scratch (Andrew 1995). Human intelligence was already developed, but with certain limitations and other intelligence disciplines were underdeveloped and very seldom sophisticated. After WWI America recessed and settled in a period of peace. The United States faced no threat to its security from its neighbors, from powers outside of the Western Hemisphere (Lowenthal 2006). That caused a visible absence of intelligence activities, leaving America out of sight for any international conflicts; the United States of America focused and limited its activities beyond its own borders. In later years the Japanese attack to Pearl Harbor, America rushed to reactivate their military forces, moving from a passive country to full participation into a another international conflict; WWII. As a consequence, the United States engaged in activities that improved its intelligence system increasing its capabilities needed to address seriously the future threats of the Cold War.
COINTELPRO was necessary because of the great social unrest, individuals posed threats to society, and created operations that were beneficial to the United States. COINTELPRO was founded by the FBI in 1956 as a government program for counterintelligence. The FBI director, J. Edgar Hoover, was instrumental in the program’s creation. After the age of McCarthyism, best known as the Second Red Scare, Hoover was concerned about the institution of Communism gaining popularity within the United States. This gave way to the creation of COINTELPRO.
In all respect I've always had a fascination with becoming an F.B.I. agent. As my interest grow during my educational progression, I'm learning how my personal attributes with help me in my given field. First of is the size of my physical build, which I believe will help me with any possible altercation I my encounter. My positive attitude toward life will also be helpful. I also have a good decision making skills, with out letting let and kind of prejudice entering my mind. The reason I am so positive about this is I've had such a variety of friends. I've had friends of different races, ethnic background, and religious beliefs. I've also have a vary strong emotional barrier due to all the tragedy I've gone though in my life. I've lost three of my closet friends in the last four years. Through all those years I was the person who was strong to help my entire friends threw our losses. When I get into the field all the knowledge I've acquired in my education will in all intent be useless. How do I know this you ask? Several people I know in several justice fields have told me that the real education comes in the field. Their have several movies such as "The Siege", Silence of the Lambs" witch have inspired me to follow in this possible life style. The T.V. show cops is the most instamental to me, due to the way they always explain how to dissolve every encounter, and what would happen to the perpetrator. These movies and T.V. shows give a positive outlook on my possible life in handling these issues. I would not leave out the possibility of becoming a scout leader. The reason I think I could handle this job is because I've always had an attraction to teaching children. I have been babysitting children for seven years, for my next-door neighbors and my aunt. Any other person besides their parents or me could always never control the three boys next door. Then there are my two cousins who were both girls. I always loved watching children; I just get along with them so well. I believe I could make a difference in their lives.

I also have strong desires to serve others, including underserved populations. While serving at a homeless shelter Bowery Mission, I realized that the homeless usually need more help in health care but have inadequate access and limited medical knowledge. I am interested in working in in underserved areas as well as serving underserved populations because I can maximize my impact by fulfilling their needs.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, is a law enforcement and national security organization. “The mission of the FBI is to protect and defend the United States against terrorist and foreign intelligence threats, to uphold and enforce the criminal laws of the United States, and to provide leadership and criminal justice services to federal, state, municipal, and international agencies and partners” (“Quick Facts”). There are many different qualifications and requirements to become an FBI Special Agent, but the salary and career outlook make them worth it. Federal Agents have many duties and can specialize in a vast array of different areas. “As an FBI Special Agent you may work on issues the encompass terrorism, foreign counterintelligence, organized crime, extortion, kidnapping, white-collar crime, public corruption, civil rights violations, cyber crime, financial crime, bribery, bank robbery, air piracy, interstate criminal activity, fugitive and drug trafficking matters, and other violations of federal statutes” (Gadek).
The FBI's size and jurisdiction during the second World War greatly increased and included intelligence matters abroad. At the end of World War II, and the introduction of the Atomic Bomb, the FBI began working on background security investigations for the White House and other government agencies, as well as internal security for the executive branch of the government. In 1945, the FBI raided a magazine company that was particularly interested in the Far East and discovered a multitude of classified state documents. Around this time, Americans feared the invasion of Communism, which triggered the FBI to investigate people within the U.S. whom were suspected of sabotage and undermining Democracy in the name of Communism.
In order to become an FBI agent you have to work in law enforcement and work in homicide or be a person’s investigator. Who would hire me with these interests that I envelop? A local law enforcement, like the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office would hire me. If I decide to move I would work at law enforcement in Washington D.C. or in Virginia which is where the BAU’s company is. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s office is a growing company and their goal is to make our community safe. They are committed to providing a safer environment and enhancing the life for everyone in the county. They value respect, trust, and accou...
...that had helped the United States to be one of the greatest counties that it is today. Within the agency, there was no communications where they kept information from each other. The CIA agency had no idea what they were doing in regards to central intelligence and they were compromised where the enemies knew about the attack before the attack was fully implemented. These examples prove that some leaders had some positive outcomes for the United States, but the agency from within could not stay united as well as keeping communications about what was going on in the world. I agree with Tim Weiner’s thesis that the United States is one of the greatest countries in the world, but we cannot seem to create a great and efficient spy service to benefit the United States.

My ultimate goal of becoming a CIA agent is to help people, protect people, and overall help the united states. The reason I chose the John jay college of Criminal Justice is because it is a very highly rated school with a beautiful campus. And even though you do a lot of good things as an agent there are a lot of difficulties such as working hours, or even death. If I become a CIA agent when I get older I will benefit society very much, because I am protecting people, keeping them safe from harm, or anything else, This is why I want to be a CIA
The CIA is one of the U.S. foreign inteligency agencies, responsible for getting and analyzing information about foreign government, corporations, individuals, and reporting such information to the various branches of the U.S. government. The State Department's Bureau or inteligence and reserch and theDefense Department'sdefense inteligence agency comprise the other two. Its headquarters is inLangley, Virginia, across the Potomac River from D.C. The Agency, created in 1947 by President Harry S. Trueman, is a descendant of the Office of stratigic Services(OSS) of World War 2. The OSS was dissolved in October 1945 but William J. Jonavan, the creator of the OSS, had submitted a proposal to President Roosevelt in 1944. He called for a new organization having direct Presidential supervision, "which will procure intelligence both by overt and covert methods and will at the same time provide intelligence guidance, determine national intelligence objectives, and correlate the intelligence material collected by all government agencies." Despite strong opposition from the military, the State Department, and the FBI, Truman established the Central Intelligence Group in January 1946. Later under the National Security Act of 1947, the National Security council and the Central Intelligence Agency were established.
Did you know that the first private investigation agency was started by a criminal? While conducting research over this particular topic I learned a lot of interesting information regarding the type of work done by private investigators, as well as the potential employment opportunities. This world is a crazy and deceptive place and it is up to us to get to the truth of everything. Becoming a private investigator will be a time consuming, potentially dangerous, yet extremely rewarding career path. (History of Private Investigations, 2013)
