Society is a living organism. Just like the immune system, the army and police provide protection against invaders and criminal elements. Just like the digestive system, industrial plants draw out energy from raw materials. Just like our veins and arteries, roads, waterways and railways transport these products around our bodies, and just like the colon and bladder, waste products are collected by garbage dumps and sewage systems.
However, on top of all these vital organs lie our bones, which frame our bodies and enable us to move forward correctly. And like Jesus, the importance of our bones is often forgotten.
Jesus is the model of 21st century Christian life by providing a frame that enables society to move forward in a morally correct manner. This frame is what is known as Jesus’ ethical teachings.
One example of Jesus’ teachings is found in Matthew 7:13-14.
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” If God presents humanity with the liberty of choice between an easy or difficult life than it is inevitable that humanity chooses the easier option, even if it ultimately leads to destruction. Imagine standing in front of two gates; in one direction the gate you see is attractive and alluring you to enter. You look inside and are confronted by enticing advertisements jumping at you from every angle, promising power, wealth and happiness. It looks simple. There doesn’t seem to be a toll, and the road is wide enough to enter with ease. Crowds of people, places and things that promise to offer all the tools that make life more appealing and comfortable, a...

...and contempt. This leads to violence. Violence results in abuse. Abuse gives birth to war.
Each side aims to end each other’s attacks by retaliating on a scale so great that the other cannot endure. Unfortunately, the intended result of such a paradox is almost never achieved. How can one even gain victory from ‘swapping an eye for an eye, or on a more realistic level, by part taking in war? This is the foundation Jesus is trying to establish. We find ourselves wired in a struggle in Iraq that seems to have no solution. Maybe with the help of Jesus’ teachings we can find that solution.
Jesus serves as a role model of 21st century christain life by providing society with a frame or guidelines. Maybe through Jesus' teachings we can find the heart beneath the organs of hatred, materialism and power.
To look at Jesus as simply a good man who had a philosophy of doing
In today's world, it is very easy to allow our perception of Jesus to be skewed by our ideology, attempting to define Him in light of our preconceived views. As a Christian whose political views generally lean to the conservative side, I still must recognize that both conservativism and liberalism are man-made philosophies, both having their respective limitations in regards to biblical truth. As Christian sociologist Tony Campolo astutely points out:
It also follows that God, not as benevolent as could be hoped, prefers the maximization of good (2) as opposed to the minimization of evil (1). This is disquieting for the individual who might be the victim of suffering a “greater good.”
The remarkable strength of the bones in this system provides protection for the vulnerable organs in the body.
As many people will agree, Christ can be referred to, as Kierkegaard’s states it, “the prototype” (239). In other words, Christ lived in such an ethical and loving way that many people admire. Therefore, we can safely say that in following Christ’s “footprints” (238), we are closer to being more ethical and loving individuals. Consequently, in becoming involved with this service-learning project, I have come to realize that I, and everyone in general, do hold a moral responsibility towards complete strangers. This is most evident when regarding our religious background since I, and anyone else for that matter, cannot truly claim to being an ethical individual if we are stuck being admirers and do not alter in becoming imitators.
The core ethical teachings of Judaism are the Commandments of the Torah, the Prophetic Vision and the Book of Proverbs. These ethical teachings are all ultimately derived from the Jewish Bible or Tanakh. The importance of these teachings are to provide Jewish adherents with informed moral choices. One of the most important ethical issues that a Jewish adherent may face is pollution, decisions must be made in favor of methods that involve less rather than greater destruction to the earth because according to Bal Toshkit in the Prophetic Vision, the destruction of God’s creation is prohibited.
He is God incarnate who became flesh to take away the sins of the world. He was a poor servant, an obedient child who grew up with wisdom and understanding and became man so that the Word became flesh to dwell among humanity (Weaver, 2014). For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). Jesus’ ministry was to preach and teach about the Kingdom Of Heaven and these teachings are the revelations that mankind are to live by in order to get into Heaven and find salvation (DiVincenzo, 2015). The teaching about the Kingdom was for God to restore his creation into the right relationship with himself (DiVincenzo, 2015). This was established so that he and his people can be together in peace, justice, and truth (DiVincenzo, 2015). This identity of Jesus and the work that he did on earth is important to the Christian worldview because it shows that God fulfilled his promise of the Messiah to save the world and it also fulfilled the scripture of the one that was to come. This is an essential element to the beliefs as a
The human body is made up of 12 different systems. Each system has a separate function while some do work together. One system is called skeletal system which is to serve as a support the body, mineral storage, energy storage (fat), blood cell production, movement (leverage), and protect the internal organs. (Martini, 112). With the help of the muscular system, it keeps us moving and makes us to do tasks that we don’t think about like swinging the arms while running. The average adult skeleton has 206 bones that are joined together by ligaments (bone to bone) and tendons (muscles to bone) to make a protective framework for the tissues and muscles. The vital organs are also protected by the skeleton, brain is covered with skull just like heart
Humans are fallen beings, born as sinners, living self-centered lives, often making decisions in our own best interests. The only being who has ever lived a life completely outside of the box is Jesus Christ, the son of God as a man on Earth. He did not care how people perceived him, he only cared about others, specifically those who others did not care the least bit for such as the diseased, the criminals, and the prostitutes. In the end, he sacrificed himself for the fallen, self-centered humans he created, the ultimate “outside of the box” act. No one since or before has been such a shining example of how to lead others and live free of self-deception and self-betrayal - ...
Although your teeth are also considered part of your skeletal system, they are not counted as bones. Your teeth consist of enamel and dentin. Enamel is the strongest substance in your body. The main priority of the skeletal system is to provide support for the body. Without bones our body would be in a pile of guts and mush on the floor. Your skeleton furthermore assists to protect your internal organs and fragile body tissues. The brain, eyes, heart, lungs and spinal cord are all sheltered by your
One of the human anatomy system supplies humans’ structure and development. This system is the skeletal system. The skeletal system in the body provides with the shape, support, and movement of the body, and protects its organs. The bones in the humans body protect it with and supports its organs from any external force acted upon it. The major organs such as the heart and the brain are supported and protected by bones. The ribs in the body form a cage to support and protect the heart. While similarly, the skull supports and protects the brain from any external force. The skeletal system provides movement because of the way the bones are attached to the joints, muscles, tendons, or ligaments allowing the body to move...
The five of the teachings of Jesus are the following: Be Merciful (Luke 6:36, Matthew 5:7, Forgiveness (Luke6: 37), Seek Goodness (Luke 6:45), Respect Others (Luke 14:11), and Be Kind (Luke 6:31).
Loving people unconditionally was another aspect of Jesus’ worship lifestyle. The Gospels depict countless examples of Jesus interacting with people. Every interaction was filled with love. He met people’s needs when he healed the sick and the blind and the dumb. He met the needs of the hungry thousands. The marginalized of society were always on His mind. From the women to the children, the aliens and the outcasts, He was a...
The two hundred and six bones in the human body produces a lot of blood cells, store important minerals such as homeostasis (storage and release), and also release hormones, which are necessary to life. During body movement, the skeletal system assists by contracting and pulling on bone to produce movement. Although, in the world we all live in today, skeleton symbolizes all kinds of means/significant reasons. From people using it as a symbol for death (Halloween, rituals, etc.), movies, and many other scary things, the real fact is that skeletal system is one of the most body’s most life giving systems. Apart from other living organs such as the skin, eyes, and many more, the bones are the main primary function that carries them all. Bones are sturdy and firm, but each one in our bodies has their own blood, lymphatic vessels, and nerves. Being the fact that the skeletal system makes up our body movements, support, and protection, it also has its
... for a particular cause and Jesus did this with his influence, charisma, virtue, patience, empathy and selflessness. Everything he did was to teach the way to salvation.
