Several months past by and other great opportunity was available for him.
This time meant working for Macy’s, were Mr. Mathis saw the great opportunity for growth in his career. Jerry worked as Sales Manager for 4 yrs, allowing him to lead his team into great success. During this opportunity, he was also able to grow academically in receiving a MBA, Management, and Marketing from Lamar University. Due to this personal accomplishment, he had the chance to be part of the Vice President program in New York. This program is to prepare those candidates that have the skills and qualifications in leading a Macy’s department store. This allowed him to become Merchandise Team Manager in Memorial City
Mall. After several months as manager for Macy’s, he received a call from Tory Burch. They mention they have found his excellent resume in LinkedIn. Once again, he embarks in a new journey as Assistant General Manager for Tory Burch, in which he would like to stay for some time. He also gave us several tips for our own personal growth, such as reading blogs, doing research on brands, designers, and trends. He believes that networking will help connect with others that have the same passion as us for fashion. Some of his tips for networking are finding a mentor and the usage of LinkedIn. The mentor of our choice should be someone who has taken an interest in your development and someone you can ask questions to. They do not need to be the top of the masthead simply having someone on-hand who has been around the block can be a huge asset. In addition, the usage of LinkedIn can be a helpful tool to build working relationships and contacts, as well as keep up with those you already have. People bounce around a lot in fashion--the website can help you keep track of who has moved to what company. Mr. Mathis was of great inspiration to our class; reminding us that if, we set a goal we can accomplish great things.
It was through this man that Gillis landed his first job. And just like that, he had an understanding and definition of how he was going to make it and a start to his new life. Tony, the owner, tested Gillis by means of leaving the store unattended for hours on end with only Gillis in there working. This was to test his trust and see if he would steal anything or do anything bad while he was not watching him. But his tests were unsuccessful because Gillis knew his values and was trying to make it on his own the right way instead of the wrong

Nordstrom takes pleasure in providing state of the art client support and having experienced sales people. In order to hold their position as the most successful high-end retailer in the United States, Nordstrom must continue to figure out ways to improve their brand image and customer satisfaction. Nordstrom’s current business working strategy is successful but I believe there are a few ideal solutions that the organization could apply to further enhance the organization. Due to the aggressive characteristics of the fashion retail store market, it is crucial that Nordstrom preserves an aggressive advantage providing the highest level of customer support as possible.

Following World War II Disney Production was in a substantial amount of debt. They needed to come out with a new movie that would win over the public of America. They came out with just the right movie, Cinderella, in 1950. This was their biggest hit since Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs some 15 years ago. Because of Cinderella Disney Productions stayed in business and could go on to produce many more heartwarming movies.

Throughout the course of history there has been many remarkable people that have created an impact on the world. But what is hero? Robert F. Kennedy once said, “Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or lots of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a ripple of hope.” Meaning a true hero is someone who can stand up for an idea, or can help eliminate the unfair treatment in which the rights of a person are ignored; and everytime gives people the faith that everything is going to be okay after all. John Lennon is a good example of a hero based on Robert F. Kennedy's description of a hero. John lennon is a hero because he peacefully fought against war through his fame and music, promoting peace and inspiring many people.
