Learning how to maintain a healthy diet is crucial to live a happy life. Health is one of those things that we do not appreciate until it starts giving us problems. In my essay Jerk Chicken and Baked Rice, I have explained chronicle steps on how to make this dish. This dish will give you basic knowledge on Jamaican ways of cooking and introduce you to some new ingredients. This dish is for those who wants to learn how to cook something healthy, and also for those who just wants to eat some delicious food. The purpose of this essay is to inspire more people to start cooking, and also teach them that healthy food does not always have to be boring or bland. There were various topics that I could have chosen to write about, but cooking is something that I have I am very passionate about. Since, this paper is about teaching other people, I want to teach everyone something that they can benefit from without going through all the trouble that I had to. I got started writing this essay by explaining my purpose behind doing this in the first place, which is leaning to cook something healthy. I did not have to brainstorm my ideas, because I learned this very recently, so I had a clear vision of what I was writing about. Cooking is something that I am very passionate about, and I also want to inspire other people to get in the kitchen. Since, I knew what I was writing about and I had all the information I needed to finish the paper, I did not struggle to write the paper. I also enjoyed your personal story about your relationship with fast food, making your essay relatable, the lack of knowledge we have on fast food as a nation, the health risks that can occur, and how all companies care about the money they take from us. Within this letter, I am writing to you an analysis of the rhetorical appeals you used to back up your thoughts, your tone of voice, the way you brought the reader in with your witty choice of words, and how extraordinarily you were able to persuade me as a reader. Would you be interested in a story of how over eating has been glorified and how dietitians view the consequences? The article would focus on the root of eating as a sport and how it has contributed to obesity. I would talk to dietitians about whether they have noticed an increase of unhealthy eating, as well as children on the appeal of recreational eating, and some popular D.I.Y food challenges. In Michael Pollan’s “The End of Cooking” shares the message of what we are losing something important in this day and age because of all our pre-made and processed foods. This can be compared with Kothari’s “If You Are What You Eat, What Am I?” and her argument that food is part of one’s own identity. By using the examples from these two texts you can analyze the state of food and culture in the United States today. All of the processed and pre-made foods are causing people all across America to lose their sense of Culture. We no longer know what it’s like to make one of our cultures specialty dishes from scratch which can help people identify with their culture. The story, In Praise of Fast Food, written by Rachel Laudan is an evaluation argument recommending healthy food choices in comparison to fast food. Laudan responds by sharing her experience with growing up on a farm and a child and eating food from her family garden. “Modern, fast, processed food is a disaster” (Faigley 302).
