I have always admired Jennifer Aniston and her ability to act. Hence, I immediately knew I wanted to watch her episode on Inside the Actors Studio. From a young age, I was always fascinated with how realistic she appeared in her roles. I really believed that each of the characters she played was actually herself. Perhaps, this is one of the reasons I wanted to become an actress myself. There are many great actors and actresses, but for me, I have never been able to identify with another one who is so free and real when she creates her craft.
Jennifer Aniston was born in Sherman Oaks, California, but did not get bitten by the acting bug until she lived in New York City. She took a liking to New York Theatre, espcially Annie the musical. Jennifer became interested in acting at a young age. She loved the stage and she “loved the rush of hearing audiences.” Her parents divorced when she was nine, and her dad left for a while. She landed the role of Rachel Green on Friends, which would make her famous worldwide. She attributes a lot of her success to her appearance on this show. Aniston was able to showcase her comedic ability through Rachel. She says that once she gets the dialogue down, then she is really able to explore and work from there. When Aniston discusses comedy, she says it just comes naturally to her, and that it takes excellent timing. She believes you have this skill, and it is something that cannot be learned. I tend to agree that you can only be “funny” if you are naturally funny. If you try to force someone to be funny, they will not come off as funny. One of the reasons Aniston is so good is because she is not only realistic in non-comedic scenes, but her comedic work also is very real.
