Jeffrey Dahmer
"My consuming lust was to experience their bodies. I viewed them as objects, as strangers. It is hard for me to believe a human being could have done what I've done (Dahmer)." Jeffrey Dahmer was a narcissist, a necrophiliac, somewhat of a sadist and a cannibal. In many ways he fit a typical sexual serial killer profile, but in some ways he didn’t. By the time of his apprehension, Dahmer had sodomized, murdered, and cannibalized at least seventeen men, mostly black, Hispanic or Asian, in the Milwaukee area between the years of 1978 until his arrest in 1991 (Anonymous, 2010).
Jeffrey Dahmer was born in Milwaukee on May 21, 1960, to Lionel and Joyce Dahmer. Despite the difficulties of Joyce's pregnancy, he was wanted and adored

as a child. Dahmer seemed to be a happy, cheerful adolescent."When I was a little kid I was just like anybody else” (Dahmer). At the young age of six, Dahmer suffered a double hernia and needed surgery to correct the problem. After the operation, he was never the same bright, happy boy he previously was. After Dahmer’s surgery, which was around the same time as his brother’s birth, He became more and more distant and insecure about himself. The family then moved from Iowa to Ohio due to a job opportunity for his father. By the end of Dahmer’s middle school years he had grown to be a shy, tense, and largely friendless young man (unknown). In the beginning of his high school years, Dahmer grew more isolated and withdrawn. His classmates considered him a loner and an alcoholic (Anonymous, 2010). In the fall of 1978, Dahmer entered Ohio State University, where he remained drunk for the majority of the semester and inevitably had to drop out. When he came back home, his father gave him an ultimatum, either find a job or join the Army (Montaldo). After refusing to look for a job, His father drove him to the recruiting office to join the Armed Forces in January of 1979. Although he seemed to enjoy life in the Army, he was discharged early for habitual drunkenness (Montaldo). Without anyone knowing Jeffrey was mentally ill.
He has been struggling with his mind for several years now. His own homosexual desires, mixed with his need to act out his sadistic fantasies is what pushed him to commit his first murder. He picked up hitchhiker, 19-year-old Steven Hicks. Dahmer invited Steven to his father's home and the two drank beer and had sex, but when Hicks decided to leave Dahmer bashed him in the head with a barbell and killed him. He then proceeded to dismembering the body, placing the parts in a garbage bag and burying them in his father’s back yard (unknown). Dahmer said "I was completely swept along with my own compulsion. I don't know how else to put it. It didn't satisfy me completely, so maybe I was thinking, 'Maybe another one will. Maybe this one will.' And the numbers started growing and growing and just got out of control.” As you can see, this was only the begging of Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer killing spree.
For the next six years Jeffrey lived with his grandmother in West Allis, Wisconsin. During these six years he encounters the police several times and His consumption of alcohol heavily increases (Anonymous, 2010).In August 1982, he was arrested after exposing himself to a couple of young boys at a state fair. He was arrested again in September 1986 for masturbating in public; he got 10 months in jail. Shortly after his released he was arrested for the 3rd time for touching inappropriately a 13 year old boy in his home town. He was given five-years

probation after persuading the judge that he needed help (Montaldo). On September 1987, Dahmer committed his second murder: Steven Toumi, whom he met in a gay bar. They checked into a hotel room and drank heavily, and by the following morning, Dahmer found Toumi dead (Montaldo). He bought a large suitcase to transport Toumi's body to his grandmother's basement, where he had sex with and masturbated on the corpse, before dismembering it and disposing of the remains in the garbage (Anonymous, 2010). On September 1988, Dahmer’s grandmother was tired of her grandsons late nights and drunkenness. She forced Dahmer to move out. He was working as a mixer at Ambrosia Chocolate Factory and could afford a small apartment; he got a one bedroom apartment on North 24th St. in Milwaukee (Montaldo). Dahmer continued killing young men uninterruptedly until an incident in May 27, 1991. A 14 year old boy named Konerak Sinthasomphone had escaped from his “care”. This was his 13th victim and was also the younger brother of the boy he was convicted of molesting in 1986 (Anonymous, 2010). Early in the morning the young Sinthasomphone was seen wondering the street nude and disoriented. When the police asked Dahmer what was going on, he said that the boy was his lover and that they had a fight and he had a little too much to drink. The police walked them back to Dahmer’s apartment, took a quick look determined nothing was wrong and left. Only a couple hours passed by before Dahmer kills Sinthasomphone and performs his usual ritual on the young boys body (Montaldo). Over the next months that followed up to the time of his capture, Dahmer's victim count accelerated to one a week until July 22, when Dahmer was unable to hold captive his 18th victim, Tracy Edwards (Montaldo). After Edwards escaped he immediately went to the police. He led the officers back to Dahmers apartment, where officers found several incriminating evidence to arrest him (Montaldo). Jeffrey Dahmer was indicted on 17 murder charges which were later reduced to 15.
He was not charged in the attempted murder of Edwards. His trial began on January 30, 1992. With evidence
overwhelmingly against him, Dahmer pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity (Montaldo).
The trial lasted two weeks, he was found sane and guilty on 15 counts of murder and sentenced him to 15 life terms, totaling 957 years in prison. At the end of his sentencing he calmly read his 4 page statement and apologized for his crimes (Montaldo). He ended with,
"I hated no one. I knew I was sick or evil or both. Now I believe I was sick. The doctors have told me about my sickness, and now I have some peace. I know how much harm I have caused... Thank God there will be no more harm that I can do. I believe that only the Lord Jesus Christ can save me from my sins... I ask for no consideration."
Dahmer served his time at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin, where he ultimately declared himself a born-again Christian (Montaldo). Dahmer and inmate Jesse Anderson were beaten to death by fellow inmate Christopher Scarver while working in the prisons gym, on November 28, 1994. Dahmer died of severe head trauma while on his way to the hospital

Robert Baltovich was wrongly convicted of the murder of his girlfriend, Elizabeth Bain, in Scarborough, Canada. He was arrested on November 19, 1990, and charged for first-degree murder. On March 31, 1992, he was convicted of second-degree murder. Finally, on April 22, 2008, he was found not guilty of the murder.
In 2 years the trial ended with the verdict of guilty on the account of
Dahmer, for example, essentially wanted others to be submissive to him; this served a basis for having his victims rendered unconscious before he did the truly disturbing aspects of his actions. He also craved the everlasting companionship that having corpses around could satisfy well enough because he also did not want them to leave, either. Suppressing his true feelings also played a major role in the attacks. He refused to share anything, so dark fantasies grew heavier in his mind and eventually led to 17 deaths. Finally, death fascinated him, as well as control, from a young age, which led to him killing and dissolving animals in acid. Simply put, Jeffrey Dahmer had predominantly selfish, compulsion-driven reasons for doing his crimes. In contrast, Grendel was only acrid that he did not have the comitatus that the Danes had. He also hated the songs about God that the people in Herot sang due to God exiling him. While Dahmer obsessed over the concept of death itself, Grendel was more obsessed with the act of killing, even getting giddy over seeing the sleeping warriors in the mead hall. As can be seen, Grendel and Dahmer had wildly different motives for committing their
He was claiming to be innocent at all times but he didn’t have a good legal representation, his lawyer never visit him in jail, as punishment he was in solitary confine for 2 years consecutives,
Dahmer was a pretty normal, but very lonely kid. His loneliness followed him throughout the course of his life. Never having an intimate friendship or relationship, along with being consumed with confusion over his own sexuality eventually led him to become the household name he is today. From 1978 to 1991, Dahmer murdered 17 boys and men. Not only is he considered a murderer, but he committed (on several occasions) rape and dismemberment. After his later murders, he was found guilty of necrophilia, cannibalism, and permanent preservation of body parts. He is arguably the most well known, gruesome, and intriguing criminal in American history.
Trying to help his son, Lionel assisted Jeffrey get into the University of Ohio. But it was already too lateJeff Dahmer made his first killing at age 17, when he picked up a hitchhiker , brought him home, murdered him, and scattered the bone fragments in the woods behind the Dahmer home.
Jeffrey Lincoln Dahmer also known as The Milwaukee Cannibal and The Milwaukee Monster was born May 21st, 1960 to his parents Joyce Annette and Lionel Herbert Dahmer. When Dahmer was six years old he had minor hernia surgery that afterwards changes in his behavior were reported. He went from a happy young boy to increasingly insecure and a loss in self-confidence, these changes seemed to coincide with the birth of his younger brother David Dahmer who was born seven years after him. At age eight Jeffrey and his family moved to Bath Ohio due to his father’s career as an analytical chemist. The move seemed to deepen his already increasing odd behavior and seclusion from society. By age fourteen he started to have impulsions to murder and perform necrophilia, these impulsions were amplified again when his parents ’marriage fell apart and they divorced in 1977.
The. He did not kill acquaintances or lovers as many murderers did. I have a lot When arrested in Milwaukee in 1991 Dahmer confessed to all 17 murders, and was sentenced to about 900 years in prison. Dahmer was eventually bludgeoned to death himself. in the prison of a s Obviously, as the media fed off these sick murders, so many asked how.
on June 17, 1994. O.J. was tried on two counts of the murder of his wife and friend Ron Goldman. O.J. had agreed to turn himself in, but instead he took the cops for a car chase. The chase lasted about ninety minutes in his white Bronco, and the entire chase was televised. While in the chase O.J. held a gun to his head and threatened to kill himself many times, but O.J. was finally taken in to custody at his home. Three days later in court O.J. was asked how he pleaded, he replied “Not Guilty” (Taylor, 2016). While on trial O.J. put out a reward for the arrest of the “killer or killers” of his ex-wife and friend (“The Simpson”, 1996). In September of 1994 the court announces that they will try for life without parole for O.J. (“The Simpson”, 2016). The court trial lasted from June of 1994 until October of 1995. The people and O.J. went back and forth all of those months to determine if O.J. was actually guilty or not. There was blood evidence, bloody clothing, and gloves the were said to be used during the attack. However, they tried all of the evidence and all of it was proven to be not related to O.J. (“The Simpson”, 1996). On October 3, 1995 O.J. Simpson was proven not guilty for the murders of Nicole Simpson and Ronald Goldman. O.J. was later arrested for different crimes and is now serving nine to thirty-three years in prison and is up for parole in 2017. The attacks that took place on June 12 were brutal and done by someone who was truly evil. The attackers were never found, and it is still an open case to this day. Although, many people still believe that O.J. was the murder. The say that his motive was jealousy and that he is truly deep down an evil person perfectly capable of committing the brutal
Lionel and Joyce Dahmer gave birth to their first born, Jeffrey Dahmer, on May 21, 1960 in Milwaukee. Despite Joyce experiencing a difficult pregnancy, Dahmer was a healthy child who was wanted and adored by both his parents. However, his mother did start to become distant to him as she refused to breast feed him and started demonstrating unstable behavior along with substance abuse. Meanwhile, his father was pursuing his doctoral for chemistry in Iowa which limited the time Lionel had with his family. At age five, Dahmer’s little brother was born and that was when the feeling of neglect set in him. For the first time, the little attention provided from his parents had to be shared with his brother David. Dahmer began displaying extreme shyness but also severe tantrums. During the ages of six and seven, Dahmer “was regarded by other children as odd and bizarre (Martens, 2005).” Even though he did not show any interest in developing genuine social relations, Dahmer did demonstrate a fascination with bug and animal dissections. When Dahmer was six he had “undergone hernia surgery, when he woke up from the anesthesia he was worried someone could have cut his genitals, the pain lasted for one week and after a long recovery period his parents remember he turned to be very loner (Giannetakis, n.d.).” It is believed that at age eight Dahmer had been sexually abused by a boy in his neighborhood (Hickey, 2013). If this event did occur, it could explain why he developed destructive sexual fantasies at the young age of twelve. Despite him being aloof, it has been reported that he would seek attention by faking epileptic seizures at school and local shops. By his adolescent years, he developed compulsive masturbation which would eventually lead to legal trouble (Silva, 2002). At the age of fourteen, Dahmer turned to alcohol abuse in order to overcome his feeling of despair and compulsive thoughts of sexual violent acts.
He was a pretty happy child overall until he had to have a minor surgery to correct a double hernia when he was 6 years old. The surgery seemed to affect him. Dahmer’s father was very consumed in his own things and his mother also suffered with severe psychological problems. As his mother’s disease got worse the conflicts within his family escalated. He felt guilty of her sickness and thought that he was the main cause of all the problems in the family. When he was a teenager his parents’ divorce and the psychological stresses that came from it may have been the tipping point that turned his thoughts about necrophilia and murder into action. In his life he killed many males which involved drugging, raping, beating, dismembering, photographing, and eating

During Dahmer’s psychiatric evaluation, Dr. Wahlstrom concluded, “Jeffrey was suffering from a mental illness never cured for” (FBI 1992). This leads me to perceive that Dahmer must have been displaying psychotic traits that went unnoticed and undocumented during his early lifetime. I can only speculate that this uncured mental illness lead Dahmer to develop and refine his inability to empathize with society; which in turn, lead him to engage in cruelty without mentally comprehending the victim’s suffering. Although the causes for psychopathy are unclear, some suggest that psychogenic aspects can outline abnormalities which may be present in psychopaths (Schmalleger 2014). When looking at Dahmer’s distant relationship with his parents early on in his childhood, I became conscious of the fact the lack of affection from his parents which may have lead him to develop twisted views on how one should display affection to others, thus prompting him to show psychotic behavior later on in life (The profile of Jeffrey Dahmer 1996). Even though the letter of the law fails to describe Dahmer and even if he was not fit to stand trial, I believe the court would have declared him fit for trial due to the brutality of the
“After killing Steven he dismembered the body with a carving knife. He later pulverised the bones with a sledge hammer and scattered the bones around the[his grandmother’s]property. The flesh was put into bags and buried in a crawlspace under the house. It wasn't until 3yrs later that police and forensics found the remains.” (Blanco) His second murder was not until 1987. Within those nine years, Dahmer went to Ohio State University for a semester, enlisted and got kicked out of the military, and finally. was convicted and released for touching himself in front of children. A wild seven years. His second murder victim was named Steven Tuomi. Although, the process of the murder was almost exactly like the murdering of Hicks, Dahmer was not charged for the murder of Tuomi due to the lack of evidence. Dahmer’s next murder victim was James "Jamie" Doxtator. He went missing on the sixteenth of January in 1988 and is the first racial minority, and minor Dahmer killed. Despite the fact that Doxtator was fourteen at the time, both men involved stood at six feet or six feet and one inch. Doxtator was drugged,
