Jean-Christophe Novelli dubbed “the nation's favourite French Chef”. Jean-Christophe Novelli was born on February 22, 1961 in Arras, Pas-de-Calais, France. He began his exciting career age a stunning age of 14 when he left school, as a baker in his home town in Arras, Northern France. By the age of 19 he became the private head chef to Elie de Rothschild in Paris. By the age of 20 he became thee personal chef for the Rothschild family. Novelli’s first wife, Tina, was an English Born Women. He had a daughter with Tina named, Christina Novelli (born in 1985), she is a musician and songwriter. The Novelli Academy opened its doors on the 22nd of April in 2005 and, within three months of being open, the academy was voted amongst the ‘Top 25 Cookery Schools in the World'. Jean-Christophe Novelli’s commitment to the culinary arts drove him so far as to restored part of his 14th century Hertfordshire farmhouse so that the Novelli Academy could be accommodated in his own home. It was the bad eating habits taking their toll. He stopped smoking because he asked his daughter what she would like for Christmas and she asked him to stop smoking and on Christmas day he stopped smoking at the age of 40. His children never eat junk food; all their food is freshly prepared. Once a month he would exercise the equivalent of a triathlon – One mile swim, 40k bike ride and a 10k swim. But after eighteen months he started to notice his knee starting to give him problems. His attitude is very much, ‘keep training, your body will sort itself out’ but it was getting ridiculous. The pain was definitely not going away. His wife Michelle nagged and nagged him to make an appointment with the doctor and she finally convinced him to do so.
