Janam Kundali Marriage Matching through Hindu Vedic Astrology
Indian marriages are typically prepared by analyzing a Jaman Kundali, which is a method of horoscope matching based on astrology, also called nakshatras, meaning lunar constellations. The purpose of Kundali marriage matching is to bring together two individuals in counseling to predict future events, and then to determine whether or not those two individuals are compatible for marriage. During the Kundali matching process, general predictions are shown by matching the horoscopes of both individuals. If both individuals horoscopes do not align, then they are not compatible, and are warned not to get married. If both horoscopes align, then they are compatible, and are given blessings for marriage.
In many cultures, astrology is known to be a symbolic language meant to predict an individual's life-path by carefully interpreting the relationship between a person’s birth date and the position with the heavens. Astrology comes from the Greek word astrologia, which means "telling of the stars”, and also from the latin word astrologiai, which means “the science of heavenly bodies”. The word Astrology is derived from the Greek words astron and logos, which literally translates as “star-word”. In Sanskrit, Hindu astrology is called Jyotisha, which means the science of light and celestial objects.
In Hindu culture, astrology remains an important practice to this day, because it is thought that planetary bodies are the “fruits of Karma”; due to this, many Indian newborns are traditionally named based on their Jyotisha chart. Other areas of life, like decisions made about marriage, starting a business, and moving into a new house, are carefully analyzed with astrological cha...

...usands of years by many cultures to answer questions not yet answerable by ordinary means. It’s core philosophical idea is that you are what happens to you, and that you can find a better meaning of yourself by carefully analyzing your origin of birth and its relationship with the positions of external celestial objects in this universe. Astrology is not a belief system, whereby there are a set of mutually supportive precepts from which you are to live your daily life, directing thoughts, words, and actions. On the contrary, astrology is the study of the positions and characteristics of celestial bodies in the belief that they have an exogenous influence on the natural course of earthly occurrences, and, thus, human affairs. In this sense, astrological readings are not meant to provide answers to personal issues, but are rather meant to be seen as a life guide.
The zodiac calendar is an astrological theory that divides the path that the sun seems to follow around the earth into twelve equal sections, each of which are associated with a sign, a symbol and a personality type. John Gardner embraces this astrological theme in his parallel novel, Grendel, by connecting each of the twelve chapters to its coinciding zodiac.
Sagan said “more than a third of American adults believe that on some level they’ve made contact with the dead” (151). This figure is not hard to believe when one thinks about our need to believe in something greater than ourselves. People believe in superstitions and horoscopes because they want to believe in that something that is greater than themselves is

Today we have new technology that allows us to do many incredible things. One of those things is the ability to calculate the stars, where they will go and where they have been. Most know of the star of Bethlehem and how it symbolizes the birth of Jesus. The star of Bethlehem marks the birth of Jesus but what about when Jesus was conceived, did the sky show any signs then? Yes, in Revelation 12:1 it states “A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.” What does that have to do with the conception of Jesus? Well, if you take our new technology you can go back and see exactly what happened that night. That night Jupiter came into close conjunction with Regulas then turned around (retrograde motion)and passed Regulas two more times. Jupiter for centuries has been known as the king planet and Regulus in the Roman culture is called Rex which means king. Regulus is part of the constellation Leo the Lion. The constellation following Leo the Lion was Virgo, the virgin, and the sun was passing through her – a woman clothed in the sun . And the moon was close to the foot of the...
The basic astrological assumptions are not hard to grasp. For if astronomy is the study of the movements of the heavenly bodies, then astrology is the study of the effects of those movements. The astronomers of the ancient world assumed a division of the universe whereby the superior, immutable bodies of the celestial worlds ruled over the terrestrial or sublunary sphere, where all was mortality and change. It was assumed that the stars had special qualities and influences which were transmitted downwards upon the passive earth, and which varied in their effect, according to the changing relationship of the heavenly bodies to each other. They were led to postulate a single system in which the seven moving stars or planet shifted their position in relation to the earth and each other, against a fixed backcloth of the twelve signs of the zodiac.
Before I start explaining what birth order does I want clarify exactly what it is. When I said birth order I know at least one person, probably more thought of something similar to astrology. In some ways they are similar. They both group personalities and have a basis in science, but that’s where the similarity stops. Birth order does not predict the future. Also, while birth orders facts are almost identical anywhere you look, I have found horoscopes where the methods used are so different that one source can say today’s you lucky day while another source for that same day may say that you will be brutally murdered by a dark stranger.
My whole life I always saw astrology as just a tiny paragraph in the back of my magazine that made silly predictions about my upcoming month in its latest issue. After learning more about astrology and its origins through informational videos and online articles I am so intrigued. I learned that you have a sun sign, which is your zodiac sign that’s most commonly known, but you also have a moon sign, a rising sign and connections to the planets that all stem from something called your birth chart. Your birth chart is unique to each individual and is based off of when and where you were born and how that time and place connects to the universe and it’s relation to the planets. It was so cool to see how intricate and scientific astrology actually is and it was even cooler to be able to see how that all applies to my zodiac sign and how that relates to my personality, life and relationships with my friends and family. I don’t think it will be something I will commonly use but I did enjoy learning more about it and being able to gain a better appreciation for it and it’s concepts. I think the people who truly believe in astrology or who apply it to their every day lives most likely really enjoy making connections about things and learning more about themselves and those around
Even to the casual observer, using just the ability of the human eye, there is a noticeable order in the manner of the movement of the celestial objects as they travel across the sky. The Sun, Moon, and the stars, all have a discernable pattern to their rising and setting. Upon closer observance, one might notice slight seasonal changes in the relative location on the horizon where the Sun rises and sets. Alternatively, one can notice more drastic variations in the Moon's relative position, the timing of it's appearances, and the variation of the portion of the Moon that is illuminated on any given night. In addition, the stars, if tracked even for a short period, clearly have a pattern to their rising and setting on any given night. Again on careful observance over a period of time one can see that there is a seasonal variation to the location of some stars, with some not being visible at certain time of the year, and others appearing instead. Finally, still with the naked eye, if one were to place close attention, one would notice that some of these "stars" do not follow the same pattern, and seem to follow different rules. So, what do the observable facts all add up to? Are there rules of order that the celestial objects follow? If one were to study the celestial objects long enough, could one discover the rules and be able to accurately predict the movements of celestial objects with accuracy? Surely, peoples of ancient civilizations pondered the same type of questions.
Astrology consists of a number of belief systems that state a strong relationship between astronomical phenomena and events in the human world. It is an activity based on the principle of Unus Mundus - the Universe as Unity. Everything - from atom to galaxy - is rooted in the same universal and all-pervasive reality. Astrology is known to be atom to galaxy rooted because society used the mind as a vacation of the mind and spirit (Sellon, Emily). Anything happening in one part of the system gets mirrored in a self-similar way everywhere else, which is called Quantum Physics Quantum Physics, observes an invisible unit of energy. The Butterfly Effect of Chaos Theory shows how even the tiniest flap of a wing can ultimately conclude in a larger or discrete effect later in time. Without Quantum Phy...
I spent plenty of hours studying at night meditating in front of a bowl filled with water and herbs. It helped me see visions that were my predictions for the future. In 1550, I wrote my first almanac of astrological information and predictions for the future. The town loved my book because it helped farmers , merchants, and even entertained the locals. In 1555, I published Les Prophesies, a long-term predictions I saw of the up coming years. People thought I was working for the devil and others said I gone insane or I'm faking it. Catherine de Medici called upon me after reading my book. She wanted me to come to Paris so I can tell her the horoscopes for her son. I informed her that "young lion who would overcome an older one on the field of battle. The young lion would pierce the eye of the older one and he would die a cruel death.' I warned the king Henri that he should steer clear of ceremonial jousting. Years later, he died from what I
It was not up until 200 years ago that people started identifying their zodiac sign with the position of the Sun. So when a person is asked what is his or sign, the Sun was passing through on the day that person was born. This can be demonstrated on a birth chart. Our birth charts are special "sky maps" which reflect the quality of the exact moment we drew our first breath. With that first breath, we each began our own incredible hero's journey through life on planet Earth. The birth positions of the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto all play their own unique symbolic roles as messengers and ambassadors of the universe.
Marriage occurs after a partner is selected. In history a person’s marriage partner was selected by their parents. The bride and groom would not have a say in the issue, their father would generally set up an arrangement for the marriage of his daughter dealing with the head of the other family. The girl’s family would seek a husband for his dau...
