James Brown is best known as the Godfather of soul music, for he was a creative singer, wrote amazing music, and was also a good band leader. He was known for the best funk and soul music during his lifetime because he had to work really hard to be in the top billboard. James Brown vocal and musical style had a major impact to many modern artists because his music represents a way to express what he had gone through in his lifetime. Therefore, James Brown would be always remembered as the king of R&B, or The Godfather of soul music.

Therefore, he desired to work for full-time, but it was a really harsh time because of the great depression, so James decided to join community church. Every Sunday, James was volunteer to sing in the choir, for his singing was outstanding and is where he started to be inspired to make music. However, at the age of 16, James brown was convicted as a criminal for stealing a car, so he was sentenced to prison for three years. Meanwhile, when he was imprisoned for three years, James came up with an idea to organize a group choir in prison. It was against by King Records because it didn’t have any original songs, so James still performed at the theater and was successful because he reached to become number two on the billboard for pop music. Therefore, in the mid-1960’s, James Brown went back to record his most popular music and his singles too.
James Brown has dedicated most of his music for foundation. For example, when Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated, many people were doing riots around the country. However, James did something generous for the people that were furious about Martin Luther King Jr. death. He performed a live concert on television in Boston because he didn’t want riots to happen over in Boston.
