Jack London: A Life Full of Experiences
Jack London, a god gifted writer, uses all of his imagination and
experiences to write out the novels Call of The Wild and White Fang.
London had trouble growing up due to bad parenting. Due to the
challenges in his life he had to explore the world. He used his experiences
that he got from the wild to write his novels. London, having been active
himself in nature, describes the dangers he faced in Alaska such as, Famine
and death, in the novels Call of The Wild and White Fang.
Main characters in the novels Call of The Wild and White Fang are
wolves. In Call of The Wild the main character is a Husky dog and in White
Fang the main character is a gray cub wolf. Wolves in this novels were used
to pull on to sleds. People needed wolves in the gold rush in Alaska to pull
to place as Jack London said in the White Fang, “ It was because men,
groping in the artic darkness, had found a yellow metal, and because
steamship and transportation companies were booming the find, thousand
of men rushing into the Northland. These man wanted dogs, the dogs they
wanted dogs, and the dogs they wanted were heavy dog, with strong
muscles by which to toil and furry coats to protect them from the frost.”
These dogs were treated harshly and each day they had to face challenges.

The Call of The Wild. In this novel jack used the experiences he
gained from Yukon travels. But the difference was that in the book
the story is told through eyes of wolves. London went to write more
success full novel, such as, White Fang. Also, his short stories,
which did not bring Jack London much fame, are somewhat
considered classics.
Jack London married Bess Maddern in 1900, and he had two
Daughters named Joan and Bess. After five years London divorced his wife
And married Charmain Kittredge. His second wife became the persona for
many of London’s female characters and who avidly joined him on his many

Wolves used to thrive in the western United States. There was ample game to hunt and plenty of places to live and wander. Until people moved in, wolves were settled. As European settlement expanded to the west, it began to take its toll on the wolves and their habitat. Clearing of the forests came first, which was then accompanied by significant over-hunting in this area (Noceker). Slowly wolves became concentrated into smaller and smaller areas in the west. Finally, they were assumed to be bothers to the ranchers and farmers and maybe a threat to those people who lived in the area.

The two become great friends and treat each other like brothers. The wolf calls Torak Tall Tailness and Torak calls the pup Wolf. The brothers track, hunt, and play together for many moons.
