In 1775 war has begun between the patriots and the loyalists. During the beginning of the war the patriots are suffering with their poorly put together army vs the highly trained Redcoats. France was generous enough to form an alliance with America colonies on February 6, 1778. This course of action was considered the turning point in war. With the Frenches support, this benefited the Americans because it leads them to a victory in the war. The French supported the Americans because they were angry at the British and their help played a role in the major victory for the Americans winning the revolution and gaining their freedom. because they were just ordinary people going to war, without any training or experience, they were in need of help. The French allied with the American colonies because of the French and Indian war. The French people wanted to get revenge on the British because they lost colonial territory and on the other hand Britain gained lots of territorial land during the French and Indian war. France was upset because they lost important land that could have benefited them. Also the Americans put forth lots of effort into this war and with France’s help this would give them a boost. Both the French and the colonists had something to benefit from the French joining the war and forming an alliance with the Americans. For example the Americans would gain independence and France would feel satisfied that they got revenge. In 1776 the French began to secretly aid the Americans.
Also the French provided loans and military armaments. Americans were contented because it gave them an advantage over the British. The French helped the rebels because again, they wanted to get revenge on the British from the French and Indian war. After the Americans won the battle of Saratoga they proved to France that they were worthy of an alliance. French allied with the colonist on February 6, 1778. During the war, the French sent over approximately 12,000 soldiers and 32,000 sailors. More importantly, the French brought over new guns, including the musket. The Americans used the new weapons to their benefit, with training at Valley Forge; George Washington created a whole new army. Now the Americans had the correct supplies and training, this gave them hope that they were going to win the war. All the help from France benefited the Americans because they have advantages over the British including advance weapons and people knowing the land. Both the French and the Americans thought they were doing what was best for their county. For example the Americans were fighting for their freedom and the France was getting revenge on the British. it. Throughout the war France was paying close attention to America, and France took note that the Americans won the battle of Saratoga.
This Victory proved to France that Americans were willing to do whatever it takes to win and were worthy of an alliance. The Battle of Saratoga was the turning point in war, but neither France nor America knew it at the time. Benjamin Franklin, Silas Deane and Arthur Lee were sent to France by the Continental Congress to make a formal alliance with France in 1776. They produced the treaty of alliance and the treaty of amity and commerce. Together, both countries put input and time in the treaties and they were signed on February 6, 1778 by Benjamin Franklin in France. Treaty of alliance made Americans and France, allies against Great Britain and if France entered the war, neither of them would stop fighting and neither of them could conclude peace with Britain unless had a discussion . Treaty of amity and commerce strengthen trade between France and America, which helped them both. America was grateful to form a strong alliance with France; this soon gave the Americans an upper hand in the war. France was glad they were fighting against Britain because they were getting revenge on them. Both Treaties met the American’s and the France’s, needs and requirements. They were both glad to have formed an alliance; now they must together on peace agreements to win the
war. In conclusion, the support from France played a role in the Americans victory in the revolution. The French people were angry at the British and wanted to get revenge, so they created an alliance with the Americans. France and America won the American Revolution because they worked together to win.
Both countries wanted to assert more control over their colonists and maintain it. In 1749 France began building forts from “Lake Erie to the Forks of the Ohio.” In 1744 under the Treaty of Lancaster, Iroquois chiefs had sold right to “trade at the Forks of the Ohio to Virginia land speculators.” Virgina took this to mean that they would have rights to the land for eventual settlement. Both the Ohio Valley Indian and the French objected to this. In May of 1754, Virginia sent out Washington and some of his soldiers to protect Virginia’s interest and the French stuck back and basically started the French and Indian War. Washington and his men won the battle. In July of that same year, France attacked Washington while at Fort Necessity and her had to surrender. The Delaware and Shawnee Indians joined with France in the French and Indian War. In Europe in 1756 it took off as the Seven Years’ War. In the first phase of the war in North America the French had decisive victories through guerilla war fare by the Indians. Both the English and the French started using European style warfare and this proved a poor decision for both, but especially France. Britain backed off the this strategy
Historians may argue that the British lost the war more than the Colonists won it. Simply looking at the statistics of the British three to one ratio over the colonists, and their overwhelming wealth and naval power, it is virtually impossible to believe that the Americans came out victorious. During this war, the newly emerging colonists proved to the rest of the world that they were becoming an upcoming world power. Although unknown at the time, Washington would prove to be a military genius. This would benefit the colonists in many ways. The colonists, although only one-third of them were pro-war, were patriots who were willing to die for their country. The colonists had more to gain from the war then the British had to lose, thus creating more of an incentive to win. The colonists also had aid from other countries such as France and created allies that would eventually be useful in other wars. The Colonists won the war more than the British lost it because of Washington's great military skills, their patriotism and motives to triumph, and aid of foreign countries.

The Thirteen Colonies knew that a direct war with Britain would end up as a loss for the Colonies who were just developing at the time. While Britain was the strongest country at the time. Britain had the advantage in technology and stronger and more numerous men. The Colonies knew this, however, the French, angry at the loss of the French and Indian war, would be able to help defeat Britain. Since the colonies knew that France would help them in a large war, they would not be fighting alone. This would greatly improve the change of the Colonies defeating Britain in a large scale
Some of the causes from the civil war were that the North was more experienced than the South, they also had more resources to fight in battle. The civil war started when Southern states seceded from the Union after the election with Abraham Lincoln. The battle of Gettysburg had a huge impact on the civil war because it was a three-day battle, making it the bloodiest battle from the American Civil War. Also, the south’s Army of Northern Virginia into Pennsylvania enetered in late June 1863.
The Revolutionary War was a war between the Thirteen Colonies and Great Britain from 1775-1783 during the American Revolution. The American colonists fought the British in hope of freedom and separation from Great Britain. “This was the completion stage of the political American Revolution whereas the colonists had denied the rights of the Parliament of Great Britain in governing them without any representation,” ("American Revolutionary War."). The Revolutionary War consisted of many different bloody battles on American soil. The war resulted in an American victory because of many historical reasons. The factors that contributed to an American victory of the Revolutionary War are British debt, distance between America and Great Britain, war tactics, French involvement, and important battles.
Before the start of the revolution, the colonists were faced with a threat. The French owned a large portion of American soil and had formed close ties with the Native Americans in their area whom were known for their hostility towards the English settlers. During the French and Indian War, the colonists had minimal help other than the strong naval power the English withheld and they were often belittled by the experienced soldiers that quartered in their homes. The colonists gathered a sense of unity in order to win the war. Although England beat the French, the peace would last only a decade before the colonists would revolt.
During the American revolution, the revolution itself was radical for the merchants and other groups of people. Radical means that there is social, economic and political change. The American revolution gave new economic significant to groups of people such as thee merchants. The revolution was radical because many merchants economic opputonity before the French and Indian War the merchant were benefiting and after they having to deal with new taxation. Also after the revolution the merchant group face a time of economic problems until the US constitution was enacted. The revolution was radical for the merchant economically and politically.
Great Britain emerged from the Treaty of Paris triumphant; France had been chased out of most of North America and Britain had won control of the eastern third of the continent. However, while the war was a military success, its effects caused trouble for Britain and its American colonies. The war had altered the political and economic landscape, and the changes opened an ideological divide between the two peoples that caused the Colonists to question their ties to Britain. So while the French and Indian War was a success militarily for Great Britain, it brought about the beginnings of the American Revolution.
The American Revolution began due to problems within the British economy. The most prevalent issue of the time was "taxation without representation". Unlike the leaders of America, the leaders of the French did not turn out to be as positive for the country. In fact, some of these leaders have caused much more harm than good.
World War II was one of the most important wars in history. It featured multiple countries at constant conflict with each other. There were several battles that occurred in this 12 year long war. An example of two of the battles would be the Battle of Britain in the European theater of war, and the Attack on Pearl Harbor in the Pacific theater of war. Only one of these wars saw victory, while the other caused great devastation to the American military.
As an American observes the life around him, noting the many advancements made in merely the last century, he must wonder how America climbed to such a level. The 21st century technology, the military and political power, education and ethics, all came from such meager beginnings, solidified by the Revolutionary War. The Revolutionary War proved to be a significant turning point in the history of our country, but what caused America to win? What were some of the most significant factors in the victory of these American patriots? By examining these three particular factors, America’s military assets, it’s aid from other countries, and its own spirit of independence, one’s understanding of the Revolutionary War, an essential root of this nation, is truly increased.
Revolutions are usually described as “radical” events. A “radical” event is defined as one that greatly changes the political, cultural, social, and/or economic nature of a society. I believe that the American Revolution was a radical event that dramatically changed our society. There were many impacts to the changes such as slavery, primogeniture, the Articles of Confederation, republican motherhood, and government. This was the time in life, that we as America gained our independence from Britain. The American Revolution is what shaped our world to become what it is today.
The French and Indian War or the Seven Years War was one of the major events that led to the American Revolution. The French and Indian War started in 1754 when George Washington and General Edward Braddock tried to defend the British land that they felt the French were taking with their expansion into the Ohio River valley. In 1755 Governor William Shirley of Massachusetts had many French settlers in the Nova Scotia region moved from that region to avoid any confrontation if these settlers sided with their home country. These people were exiled from their home and moved into British colonies in a very cruel and violent fashion. This is one of the first examples of Britain’s oppressive nature towards people they consider a threat to what they feel is the best solution. The British military effort, at this time, was not as impassioned or successful. Both George Washington and General Braddock suffered major defeats at the hands of the French and their allies, General Braddock was even killed in one of the early battles before this war was officially started. It was not until later in the war that the British were able to successfully defeat the French. The war officially began in 1756 and ended in 1763 but this war is far less important than the major event it caused. More than anything this war was the first step to the American Revolution.
Many consider the Seven Years’ War a major turning point for America, and they are correct. The Seven Years’ War, also called the French and Indian War, was fought between Great Britain and France from 1756 to 1763 with Britain as the victor. The war started with the French and Indian War (1754) in the 13 colonies when the British and French forces disputed over land. After much fighting, the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1763 officially ended the war. As a result, Britain got almost all the French land in North America, not to mention the increasing debt. With so much new land and power, there came many more problems than the debt, especially with the colonies. The Seven Years’ War significantly changed the relationship between
