On March 24, 2016, officers were dispatched to a scene where a male subject was trying to gain entry into a vehicle using a hammer. Upon arrival officers made contact with a male subject who was later identified as Keith Hunt, the defendant, and the victim. The victim explained to the officers she was standing near the trunk of her vehicle when Mr. Hunt approached, He attempted to keep into her vehicle without permission; so she confronted the defendant and tried to secure her vehicle. They began to struggle over the keys and the victim screamed
In “Stop Worrying About Guns in the Classroom. They’re Already here.” the author, Erik Gilbert, argues in favor of the law allowing the concealed carry of firearms in college campuses. Gilbert claims that it’s futile to be “worried by the prospect of having guns in [the] classroom” because he believes that even before the bill was passed, some students and faculty were already carrying firearms to campus (Gilbert). Furthermore, he insinuates that despite the presence of firearms, there were no incidents of student or faculty causing harm. To support his argument, the author provides incidents which have occurred over the last decade at his campus, such as accidental discharge of guns in dorms, firearms in student’s vehicles, and one faculty member who was discovered to be in possession of a gun in an on-campus facility. Considering these incidents and previous knowledge of “prevailing regional attitudes towards guns”, the author assumes that significant numbers of students, and possibly faculty, bring guns on campus regularly (Gilbert). As for those who are afraid due to the new law, he declares to them that firearm permit-holders are not dangerous by comparing the rate of their crimes to that of police officers. He also reasons that permit holders need to be at least 21 to qualify—claiming that the more mature students qualify—and have background checks performed.
This case involved a public high school student, Matthew Fraser who gave a speech nominating another student for a student elective office. The speech was given at an assembly during school as a part of a school-sponsored educational program in self-government. While giving the speech, Fraser referred to his candidate in what the school board called "elaborate, graphic, and explicit metaphor." After his speech, the assistant principal told Fraser that the school considered the speech a violation of the school's "disruptive-conduct rule." This prohibited conduct that interfered with the educational process, including obscene, profane language or gestures. After Fraser admitted he intentionally had used sexual innuendo in the speech, he was told that he would be suspended from school for three days, and his name would be removed from the list of the speakers at the graduation exercises.
She wanted to spend 8 hours at a place where she wasn’t like some type of disease. One day Alex got called to Ms. Cook’s office. When asked about her absences she told her about playing video games but she eventually told her about Ms. Pearson and how bad people at school was treating her. Ms. Cook told Alex that she would get back with her but Alex never heard back from Ms. Cook. Alex was even confronted by her mother after she had got a call from one of Alex’s classmates parents. She asked Alex about the post and Alex showed her mom the Myface and messages directed to her, she even told her about the horrible moments at school. When Ms. Billings realized that she didn’t get a copy of Alex’s report card or a phone call back, she took matters in her own head. Even when Alex’s mother contacted Principal Li about the situation she replied a week later saying “It’s probably just teenage squabbling”. As the Principal of KHS she failed to complete her task. As said in the KHS Anti-Bullying Policy under Administration Procedures for Responding to Reports of Bullying states that the KHS Principal who is Principal Li is responsible for receiving complaints alleging bullying. Also the Principal is required to conduct a prompt and thorough investigation of each
In the U.S. Supreme Court case of U.S. v Lopez (1995), a twelfth grade boy, Alfonzo Lopez, brought a loaded .38 caliber firearm to his local Texas high school. After being reported to the front office, Lopez was questioned about the gun and openly admitted that the firearm was in his possession. Texas then convicted Alfonzo of a criminal statute, which prohibited the carrying of a gun on school grounds. However, the charges were dropped rather quickly when the United States Government charged Lopez with violating the Gun-Free School Zones Act.
There seems to be some confusion based on Mr. Cohn email, please allow me to clarify.
All throughout Colorado there has been many developments and expansions. One of these developments is the railroad system. Railroads were and still are such an essential means of transportation for people as well for industries involving coal and fuel, and many other things. There are many key players and developers that took part in revitalizing Colorado in the 1870s. Some of these key players that contributed to the territory’s growth were William A.H. Loveland, Edward L. Berthoud, Henry M. Teller, and William Jackson Palmer.
In design of user interface, input controls are an essential element of any type and permits clients to execute different functions to make sure that input data is accurate, protected and complete. Data input controls make sure suitability, comprehensiveness, and accuracy of data throughout its transformation into application of computer or into data of a computer from its actual source. Both scheduled automated processing and manual online input may be used for penetration of data into an application of computer from. The designer of input control must define the satisfactoriness of both and manual controls over input of data to make sure that data is input correctly with most favorable exercise of computerized editing and validation and that procedures of error handling helps the accurate and timely resubmission of all approved data. Audit and Management Advisory Services educate clients that edits of input should be employed with a computer or form application, these input edits range from checks for unacceptable characters, invalid
There was an event that took place in which people were injured, and even a death occurred in Cook County Illinois. The Offender fired three shots into a group of people, only grazing her intended target, but striking and killing a different person instead. That person died from a mortal gun shot wound to the back. The whole altercation occurred because the Offender and Intended target got into an altercation over a boy on social media and later physically as well. A couple of weeks before the shooting took place, the Offender was jumped by the intended victim’s group of friends because of the boy. The day of the shooting, the Intended Target sent the Offender a message saying that she was going to die. In an attempt to retaliate against her,
On the essay, David, Skorton and Glenn Altschuler also point out how uneasy police officers feel at the idea of having students with guns on campus, because in the case of a tragedy happening there is no distinction between the innocent students is and the delinquent. A “former provost of Idaho State University” stated her concern about the insecurities towards this new law insisting that “When you’re responding to a situation like that, and someone’s in plain clothes with a gun, who’s the bad guy? Who are you going to take out to save the lives of…other students you are trying to protect?”
when I was making my john cena math game I wanted an image of john cena for the home page but most of the ones I looked at were copyrighted and owned by other people so I used the option to google images search but on show images that were available for reuse with modification so I could change john cena around in case he wouldn’t fit in my game screen. I had a problem similar to this when I was looking for images for my website but I used creative commons search to find god images I could change around in Photoshop to create a banner for my website and I wouldn’t get caught for stealing someone’s image without their permission. When I was writing some of the parts for my conceptual design of my website I had to make sure none of it was copying form other people or it would be called plagiarism and it would get me in lots of trouble at school, to get around this I put it in my own words and just to be sure I ran all my work through a plagiarism detector on www.plagtracker.com to make sure none of it was still plagiarism. Plagiarism is a big issue because you could just copy someone else’s work of the internet without asking or acknowledging them and that’s low to the person who did the work because you’re getting credit for their
Without application software, computers would do nothing. Application software includes things like, games, web browsers, photo editing tools and much much more. This year I’ve used a lot of different applications. Some of these applications are, Python, Brackets, Google (Docs, Slides, etc..) and Photoshop.
In “Vulnerable Schools Need Protection: Guns, Training For Teachers may be the answer”, published in a 2008 edition of the Chicago Tribune, David McGrath argues that some teachers should be allowed to carry a concealed weapon for protection. First, McGrath states that if a random psychotic gunman were searching for someplace to attack, his classroom would make an easy target. He feels that if he was trained and armed, his class would not be trapped without a chance of survival because he would be able to defend against the gunman. Sec...
Approximately 83% (5 out of 6) of all males have never been a victim of cyberbullying. This evidence helps explain why schools should not limit students’ online speech because the majority of the students are not affected by cyberbullying, making no reason for new reinforcements on the students. In document D, the court sided with the students, but the students must serve ten days, but the ten day suspension will not be shown on their records. It must pose a threat, there was no threat so they sided with the students.
about it, if a student is going to harass someone they are going to do
