From classroom to a cocktail party, having knowledge in today’s economics is definitely an asset when it comes surviving in the world of business. Cocktail Party Economics, by Eveline Adomait, and Richard Maranta undeniably satisfies as an economic training book, helping you understand the concepts of basic economics. The book brings to light many theories and thoughts, which are explained in a certain way that help readers easily, compare and relate them to each other. During the first couple chapters of the book, the main theories presented are scarcity, value, opportunity cost, production, and absolute/comparative advantage. Believe it or not, all of these theories are relatable to Supply and Demand; the two concepts introduced in chapters six and seven.
I chose Akbar the Mughal Emperor, Procopius, and Thomas Aquinas as my three to attend a dinner party. I knew I wanted to write about knowledge. Originally, I wanted to include the Queen of Sheba as a member of the dinner party, but I questioned whether I would be able to include enough about this character. My first choice was Thomas Aquinas, because he focused on reason as a way to acquire knowledge. This means that knowledge is internal for him. One section in the Summa Theologica is the “Gift of Knowledge”. I also wanted to play with Aquinas’ writing style. I chose Akbar because he invited so many diverse scholars to speak about a wide array of topics. I use his character to discuss the ways we use knowledge. My final choice was Procopius. I chose Procopius instead of the Queen of Sheba, so I could bring up how we present our knowledge and how our knowledge evolves. Procopius wrote The Secret History and the History of the Wars. These works have alternate views of Justinian, that evolved with events during that time period. My goal is to find a conclusion from these about the value of knowledge, how knowledge is used, and how knowledge is presented.

I aimlessly wondered the Internet trying to find a community suitable for me. I wasn’t sure what I was looking for. I have many interests, but I really don’t have a strong passion for something. So I decided to join a community in which I could express myself as a teen and talk about general issues. I joined the mtv.com community. There I expressed my thoughts on everything, ranging from music to daily events that shape our world. There I had a chance to share my opinions and beliefs, as others posted their thoughts and perspectives on certain subjects. Online communities are rather congruent to offline ones. They are both appealing yet displeasing at the same time.
Children place a high importance on the success of birthday parties. For children, a birthday is a special day, filled with friends, cake and presents.
