“A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.’’ This quote show that not every hero has to be on tv. Heroes can be an everyday people. In 1960 S.E. Hinton wrote a book called The Outsiders. Johnny is one of these people. Johnny came from a bad family and did not have a lot of money, but he still fought to help people, stood up for his gang and other people, and risked his life and protect people.
The first, reason why Johnny is a hero because he fought for what was right. Johnny fought for his gang when the Socs tried to mess with them. He also fought for Ponyboy when the Socs were jumping him. This is heroic because if Johnny didn't fight for Ponyboy he would have died. He fought for what was right and to make his gang be on the right track. Johnny also had fought for his life when he was in the hospital because a piece of the roof went on his back. Johnny was a hero because he trying his best way to fight for others. These thing are important because its showing that even know that bad thing was going to happen Johnny still

had fought for others. Its also showing that he cares about others not himself that what make him a hero. In addition, Johnny stood up for what was right against his friends.
It was a cold night and Johnny went to the movies with Ponyboy and Dally. Johnny and Ponyboy were sitting down and that is when Dally started to yell. Dally was yelling at these girls named Cherry and Marcia when they was trying to watch the movie. Dally kept on doing it until Johnny stood up and told Dally to stop bullying them for the first time and forever he stood up for what was right and Dally stopped. After that Dally did not mess with them the whole time they was there. Ponyboy and Dally was surprised because they never thought he would do that because he is a shy person and he does not talk a lot. This makes Johnny a hero because if no one ever stood up to Dally, he would have kept on doing thing to make them mad. This also make him a hero because he stood up for what right and told Dally to stop bullying the
girls. Last, in the story in say that Johnny had risked his life for little kids. Why because when Johnny and Ponyboy was staying at the church it had caught on fire. These kids was in the church is Johnny thought it was his fought the church caught on fire so he help them kids. When Johnny was trying to get out a piece of the roof feld on his back in he was in the hospital for days the he died. This is important because he risked his life for these kids that he did not. If he did not help them out these kids would have died. This is why Johnny is a hero in my eyes because he risked his life for people that he loved or he did not love In conclusion, Johnny still fought for what was right, risked his life of others, and stood up for other did he did not know.Coming down to the end this is what hero is. A hero is someone who cares for others. A hero is someone who risk there life for someone who stand up to bullies . A hero can be an everyday person and you don’t even know. This is how Johnny is he was quiet person , but people did not belives he could be a hero. When he had risked his life and did other thing people know that he a hero.
The Metamorphosis of Johnny Tremain Johnny Tremain is like a butterfly; he went through a transformation. Johnny Tremain is a book by Esther Forbes about a crippled boy during the American Revolution and the events he endures. Johnny Tremain was a very dynamic character because people and events affected him. People change main characters in many books. Johnny Tremain is no exception.
This book starts in the pre-revolutionary time. At the beginning of the book, Johnny Tremain, is working as an apprentice to Mr. Lapham. Mr. Lapham is a blacksmith. Johnny’s parents died in a fire several years before, and this is why he lived with the Laphams. He worked there with enthusiasm for several years until he hurt his arm, scolding it in hot metal. After the accident, Mr. Lapham told Johnny that he needs to find a different profession, but he can stay with the laphams.
Stand up to the injustice unafraid of the strong enemy. Do the right thing even if you are weak. That is who we call a hero. Johnny could satisfy himself to save his friend. He could literally do anything to save his friend.
Recently, students of Olympian High School have stumbled upon the question, "What is a hero?" In the school's 2013 Young Minds Essay Contest, students are expected to consider universal concerns and ideas. Many times when people think of a hero, they think of Superman, Batman, and many other Marvel characters who display unattainable superpowers. However, heroes are prevalent throughout the world. A hero can be anyone who has the desire to help others, brave in dangerous situations, and does not look at exterior gain from helping others.
There is a hero in us all. A hero is someone who risks their own life to save or do good for others. Ponyboy is a hero because he risked his life to save children from a burning church. Johnny is a hero even though he killed someone it was to save his friend’s life but he also saved children from a burning church. Dally has been arrested, picks fights, and drinks, but when it comes to the people he is close with he has his soft spots for them. All bad boys have a good side.
Who is a hero? In contemporary times, usage of the term has become somewhat of a cliché. Over the years, the term “hero” has become representative of a wide variety of individuals, each possessing differing traits. Some of the answers put forth by my colleagues (during our in-class discussion on heroism) as to whom they consider heroes pointed to celebrities, athletes, teachers and family members. Although the occupations differed, each of their heroes bore qualities that my classmates perceived as extraordinary, whether morally or physically. Nonetheless, Webster’s defines “hero” as “a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities.” Thus, it is worth considering that individuals become heroes relative to the situation with which they’re faced.
What comes to your mind when you hear the term hero? Is being a hero preventing villains from corrupting the universe? Yes, a hero is someone that stands up and tries to protect others from being harmed. In the book, The Outsiders, the Greasers proved to be the heroes of the story. It shows that no matter what your background is, you could always turn into a hero. They also showed that no matter how poor you are, you can still be a hero. The Greasers that I think showed bravery and fearlessness were: Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally.
When Johnny and Pony killed Bob, Dally covered for them and had them go hide out in the church until the cops were gone. Also, when Pony and Johnny went into the burning church to save the kids, Dally put out the fire that was on Pony’s back and he attempted to save Johnny. Johnny was heroic because he killed Bob when he was trying to kill him and Pony. Also, he was heroic because he went into the burning church to save the kids. Without Johnny doing that, the kids would’ve been burned to death or gotten seriously hurt. In conclusion, Dall is heroic because he helped Johnny out in the police situation, and Johnny is heroic because he saved the
Heroes. Everyone wants to be a hero, but sometimes, people lose sight of what a true hero really is. It does not have to be someone who flies around and saves innocent people from perilous monsters. A hero is simply someone that inspires others. In Alexie’s The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, Junior was a hero because he rose above the expectations the world placed on him through his courage, passionate determination, and sympathetic perception.
For instance, “It had taken more than nerve for him to say what he'd said to Dally—Johnny worshiped the ground Dallas walked on, and I had never heard Johnny talk back to anyone, much less his hero.” (pg. 24) This means that even though Johnny respected Dally because he was there for him when his parents weren’t, he took a risky step and stopped him from doing something wrong. By doing this, it shows that Johnny isn’t afraid to protect others like Cherry when the situation involved his friend Dally. More importantly, “I swear, you three are the bravest kids I’ve seen in a long time. First you and the blacked-haired kid climbing in that window, and then the tough-looking kid going back in to save him. Mrs. O'Briant and I think you were sent straight from heaven. Or are you just professional heroes or something?” (pg. 95) As shown, it is important to realize that Johnny, Ponyboy, and Dally wouldn’t only defend their gang members, but they would also endanger their own lives in order to save others. It proves that their act of heroism can be used in all situations. No matter what situation they are in, the Greasers use their heroic actions towards not only their gang members but other people
Heroes are found everywhere in the world. They are seen in movies, on television, in books, and in reality. A hero can be anyone, from a friend to a fictional character. A hero is defined as someone who is acknowledged for their courageous and selfless behavior or actions. Clint Eastwood’s character Walt Kowalski, in the film Gran Torino is a stellar example of this definition of a hero. Walt was more than a decorated war hero; he helped his neighbors and community. Eastwood’s character generated opportunities for Thao, a young man who didn’t have a father and lacked guidance. Walt saved Thao’s sister, Sue from an unfavorable situation as well as gave his own life to protect her and her family from a local gang. Walt proved throughout various stages of his life that he was selfless and willing to do the right thing no matter the situation. Walt did whatever it took to preserve peace and save his friends and community from harm. No matter the circumstances Walt’s morals and integrity would not falter. His actions would be above and beyond the average man’s. The movie highlights certain heroic events in Walt’s adult life beginning with his service in the United States Army during the Korean War.
