People around the world are asking the golden question: Is college worth all of the hassles and cost? High school students debate the ideas of college in classrooms around the country and world. If the end-all-be-all goal in life is to be successful, college is the first step to obtain success. Parents question the reasonings behind spending thousands of dollars on furthering their child’s education if “making it” in their career is not a guarantee for the price. Although costly, college is a phenomenal investment to make in oneself; leverage in careers make the financial benefits in the future and academic advantages more worthwhile. Americans have argued the subject of college being worth the cost for decades. Skeptics claim in Source C The more education you receive in post secondary schooling the more likely you will be prepared for your career. Graduates have the advantage among other individuals their age based on their college education. For example, if you want to become a scientist but never took a college level chemistry class you will not be prepared for the situations you may face in the workforce. Source F claims that “College graduates place more emphasis on intellectual growth; those who are not college graduates place more emphasis on career preparation.” People who do not attend college will spend more time focusing on preparing than on growth; people who have attended college have already spent time preparing for their career, so they have the ability to focus on growth in themselves rather than focusing on becoming
