Not long ago we lived in a world that lacked the luxury of getting the answer to almost any question we asked. Now with just a click of a button through phones or computers, we can be easily informed of anything. Technology has become a major part of our day-to-day living, and social media is one of the major reasons why people spend most of their time online. Social media entails a range of internet sites that enable people from different parts of the world to interact through photos, videos, audio recordings and messages (Xiang and Gretzelb). According to Medical News Today, the effects of social media are both good and bad, but the influence is undoubtedly vast especially among the younger population. The reception of social media upon its unveiling to society was amazing, and most people felt the need to be part of it. There is no doubt that it’s made communication among peers very easy and instantaneous. While social media at times can be useful for communication, it can also result in psychological problems.
