LPI: Wrote am essay in which you identify something you do that irritates someone you live with, and something that someone you live with does that irritates you.
Different people have different living styles and these habits can irritate one another when two people live together. I have lived with different family members in the past few years. I find out two actions irritate me when I live with people: throw away other people¡¦s belonging, and use other people¡¦s material without asking.
Before talking about other people¡¦s irritating behavior I want to talk about myself. I like to put everything out when I am working; therefore my working area is always filled with paper and books around. At the same time I am not a neat person who puts everything back into place after using them. In combination, I am constantly looking for my stuff around the house and my parents cannot stand watching their house turned into a pig farm.
I lived with my father for five years. I love him dearly, but I cannot stand him throwing away anything that he assumes useless. My father likes to keep everything neat and clean, therefore he always throws away the scraps he thinks is useless. Therefore, I often find my movie ticket missing and my notes in the trashcan. Nevertheless, I have to look around for my textbook and glasses because my father has put them away for safekeeping. I always have to ask him for my stuff, and many times I got into trouble because I am the one who should know where my things are.
I live with my brother since the day he was born. He always irritates me by taking away my doll.
Seaworld is a giant marine life theme park. The greatest attraction to these many theme park would be those killer whales. In fact, these killer whales are the face of the park. As gigant as these mammals are, seaworld is keeping them in some pretty tight quarters. Mr. Jett and Mr.Ventre says “Wild killer whales can swim a hundred miles daily as they socialize, forage, communicate, and breed. In stark contrast, with little horizontal or vertical space in their enclosures, captive orcas swim only limited distances, with most spending many hours surface resting.” The animals don't have the freedom they need. Also when taking the whales out of their natural habit the whales tend to be depressed and not as heath in that situation. They need their freedom in the big ocean blue. Bring them into the small living units, breeding whales in captivity all for the entertainment of humans. At young ages the calves are taken away from their mothers on to a new seaworld park. Mothers of the calves have even been seen denying their offspring.
Opponents of SeaWorld claim that closing down the park is better for the animals and the people in terms of safety. However,
SeaWorld, circuses, and other facilities that force animal behavior for entertainment are cruel and should not be allowed to continue their businesses. Tricia Kenney’s opinion that “...zoos and aquariums, for the most part, try to recreate a natural environment for the animals and, more importantly, don't disrespect them by having them perform all day long and do things that are completely unnatural for them,” is the exact answer to the question that asks why parents believe zoos/ aquariums are acceptable, while circus and places like SeaWorld are not. Caging any animal into a room with 4 tight walls is incredibly small compared to their natural habitat. Like Pilar Clark said, “places where animals are made to perform for enjoyment of humans,” should be a place where parents don’t take their kids. In conclusion, zoos that treat animals with respect and comfort are acceptable, but animal theme parks/circuses that use animals for show should not be supported, even if they have educational
Family dynamics are the relations between family members as well as the unpredictable interactions that can occur within a family. Every family has its own dynamic. There are so many things to judge when you think of family: there is the order of their birth, siblings that tend to fight, or the single child in a family. It all seems to become apparent through the years. There are four main roles a dysfunctional family. There are Hero, Scapegoat, Lost Child, and Clown/mascot. Realizing that you were a part of a dysfunctional family will certainly aid you in understanding how and why you act the way you do, as well as give you reason to appreciate and view your family differently.
Back in the day when I was very little, I remember that my dad used to take care of me. He would never let me run around the house when glass could break and hurt me. As I kept growing up my father started to give me more freedom but also gave me more responsibilities; like he wanted me to do the chores of the house, not all of them but some. I knew they were not mine to do, but I still help. When I went off to college and I had to do it all by myself, I realized that my father did good on making me do my laundry, chores, etc., when I was young.
Compulsive hoarding has been universally defined by researchers as a chronic behavioral syndrome that is categorized by three unique qualities: the extreme retention and failure to dispose of an abundant quantity of useless objects, living environments so condensed with clutter that it compromises day-to-day living for its occupants, and finally a significant provocation of anxiety or distress caused by the hoarding (Franks et al. 79). Although the definition of compulsive hoarding is universally accepted, the cau...
The excessive collection of items and an inability to discard them, is known as hoarding. When hoarding of food occurs, there is a serious risk of the living conditions becoming overwhelmed with contaminated foods. Children often engage in habits regarding food, but the habits will generally fade over time; however, when the child stockpiles or hoards food, it becomes more than a quirky habit.
Little has been learned from the captive animals at the SeaWorld Facility and others. The research Aquarium scientists have discovered is only relevant for captive animals. The research is relevant when speaking about the captive counterparts to these marine animals but not when it comes to wild species. SeaWorld also makes a statement saying rehabilitation for these animals in a facility is essential, (CNN). I agree, marine animals do need rehabilitation, however, keeping them for shows and displays should not be a part of it. Companies, especially SeaWorld, are using these animals to create a profit. Large marine mammals such as Orca whales bring in a large amount of business alone. The Orca shows, specifically Shamu one of the most popular Orca Whales, bring in very large audiences. People from around the world spend thousands to travel to the SeaWorld locations just to see the remote facilities and amazing sea creatures in possession. When combined with all the other animals and attractions, these companies can make millions. In fact, in 2012 SeaWorld had a net income of 77.4 million dollars, (Wikipedia). The whole point of rehabilitation is to be able to heal the animal so it can go back out into the wild. Aquariums have become more for the benefit of human than the animals. However, the animals should remain the main focus. This research and rehabilitation goals is actually
In conclusion, keeping animals in captivity has negative effects such as animal abuse and psychological stress or aggressiveness. But, there are benefits such as research and conserving endangered species. SeaWorld is trying to do the positive aspects and you should support them
I was surprised with sea world decision, but in the same time glad that they choose to free the whales. I am a huge animal lover but when it comes to animal cruelty I rather to be ignorant about it .I really hope that SeaWorld didn’t make up their mind only because their stocks fell and I hope it will be at least a small example for the world, I am happy that a lot of counties are taking action to protect animals from being only used as an entertainment tool. Little change is happening. I never been to a circuses except if TV counts but yes I have been to a zoo’s and a lot of aquariums and I find it dramatic to predicted the end of zoo, aquariums maybe circus because in my opinion circuses have the same problem of abusing animals and making
“I get paid whether you learn or not.” One might ask who formed this insensible vocalization; the answer encompasses, or lies within the various teachers who have given up or do not care about their students anymore. These are the inadequate educators, the student body as a whole seemingly dreads receiving. Furthermore, they are among the several determining factors, according to the film, Waiting for Superman, as to the complexity of education issues and why schools are performing poorly. Davis Guggenheim, an Oscar winning filmmaker, “undertakes an exhaustive review of public education, surveying “drop-out factories’ and ‘academic sinkholes’” in this production in order to not only learn the issues, but to also offer suggestions
A clean home is something that should come easy for anyone. Most people would consider anyone with a dirty and cluttered home to be lazy or filthy, but many are unaware of the psychological disorder Hoarding, which affects about 5% of the population, both men and women (Neziroglu, n.d.). Hoarding is the act of one having difficulties separating from their belongings. Although many confuse hoarding with collecting, there is a significant difference from the two. Those who collect, gather a specific product as a hobby or a profession, but those with a Hoarding disorder keep items without a notable worth and it accumulates in areas that were previously used for living. It is believed that hoarding is caused by a deficiency with a person’s information processing or led by a cognitive disorder, or a disturbing emotional shock (“The Hoarding Project”, 2016
Hoarding disorder is an issue or problem for quite a few different reasons. The people with the disorder collect way too many things than they know what they can do with. They find a need to keep everything that they collect, making it extremely hard for them to get rid of anything unneeded they might have. People with hoardi...
own home is unique but it is not because it occurs in all family households all over the
In my wallet, I store dire personal items such as my lisence and some pictures. Among other things, I have my money, like everybody else, and certificates for stores. This summer, I went to the Keys with my family. I drove down there with my wallet and took it everywhere with me, like I would any other time. Well, when someone doesn't have pockets, then it is hard to keep their wallet right next to them at all times. I was carrying my wallet out from the hotel, along with my keys, and set both on top of the car. When I figured out that I needed the keys in order to get in the car and turn it on, I took them off the top of the roof, leaving my wallet behind. I sat in the car, car door open, waiting for my dad to make it to the car so we could all go to a diving area. Once he made it to the car, without thinking, I closed the door and started the car. I had been driving about half a mile before I realized that my wallet was no longer on my body. Immediately, I pulled the car over, and the next hour or so was spent looking for my wallet. All I could think about was what I would lose if I didn't find my wallet. The week before was my birthday, and I was given $60 to Best Buy and $50 to Auto Zone. Aside from that I had $3 in cash. While walking up and down the road that my wallet flew off on, my sister found my two Best Buy cards.
