Over eighty-seven percent of people in the United States have a phone. It has been proven that electronics give off radiation. The ultraviolet blue light emitted by the technology can be very harmful to your eyes. Technology is very harmful to the human body.
The technology that we use everyday emits harmful radiation in our body. The closer the device is to your body, the more radiation your body will absorb. Just because you hold your device away from yourself, you may still be close to someone else's device and radiation. The legal limit for how much radiation a phone can emit is 1.60 W/Kg. The maximum radiation that a Samsung phone emits is 1.59 W/Kg. The minimum radiation amount is 1.15 W/Kg. The maximum radiation that an Apple phone emits is 1.25 W/Kg. The minimum radiation amount is 1.08.W/Kg. Every Samsung phone emits 0.30 W/Kg more radiation than Apple phone. The lowest amount of radiation emitted by a device is .18 W/Kg, the device is the VeryKool RS90. The radiation that is in the phones can cause DNA defects.

There is a known disease that is caused when a laptop or heated electronic burns the skin. The disease is called Erythema Ab Igne but it is more commonly known as Toasted Skin Syndrome. Toasted Skin Syndrome can lead to cancer, but it is rare. 20-29 year-old adults use their phones the most. Ninety percent of those sleep with or near their phones. For 20-29 year-old adults, the number of people with cancer per 100,000 went from two to four. The blue-violet light emitted from technology has the potential to put people at greater risk of muscle degeneration, which is a leading cause of blindness. Fifty-five percent of phone users say that they struggle with eye problems or headaches that are caused by the blue light in the technology that they
In 1998 a Maryland neurologist, Dr. Christopher Newman, was diagnosed with brain cancer and he could no longer work as a result of his disease. He claimed that the Motorola cell phone he had in 1992 to keep in touch with his patients gave him cancer. Then in 2000, he filed an $800 million lawsuit against several wireless providers including Motorola Inc., Verizon Communications Corp., Bell Atlantic Mobile Systems, and others. Within a month, the U.S. District Judge Catherine Blake dismissed the case due to lack of evidence. This case happened during a time where people were confused about how electromagnetic radiation affects the human body. Fast-forward to today and there is still confusion. A lot of people today feel like they are at risk from developing cancer from electronic devices like cell phones, microwaves, and laptops. That is simply not true.
Although Though technology can be good, it can be worse than good, such as people always with their faces on their phones and headphones in their ears, people neglecting books and using more online text, and people wasting their lives watching TV.Children now know how to use a phone faster than they can
“Mr. Watson –come here – I want to see you.” These were the first words that Alexander Graham Bell said to his assistant, Thomas A. Watson, by telephone on March 10, 1876. Because people wanted to communicate, they were happy when telephones were introduced. Right now, most people have cell phones (wireless communication technology) which work by radiofrequency exposure in an electromagnetic field. Because cell phones are very important devices in our lives, people use them a lot .Not only do people use cell phones to communicate, but also they use them to take pictures, to search the internet and to send text messages. As a result, people are spending a lot of time with mobile phones which work in an electromagnetic field. There are several devices that have radiofrequency waves, such as microwaves, TVs, computers, and Laptops. Because people interact with many kinds of devices, and each of them creates radiofrequency exposure, scientists have studied the effects of an electromagnetic field on human health. Even though mobile phones have low–power radiofrequency transmitters, and they are considered non–ionizing radiations which can’t break down to biological tissues, people should be protected from too much radiation. Although studies have shown that there are links between radiofrequency and cancer, mobile phone use is growing. Therefore, it is very important for people to know what to do in order to reduce the risk of wireless communication technology.
It is undeniable that cellular technology has become main stream. “It was estimated that there were 92 million cell phone users in the US, a number growing by one million every month.” (Frumkin, Jacobson, Gansler & Thun 2001). The arrival and widespread use of cell phones has peaked interest of the health effects of radiofrequencies in the human body.

Raise your hand if you’re one of 44% of Americans that sleep next to their phones at every night. It’s true, so many of us are dependent on our mobile devices, that psychologists are now calling it the “Invisible Addiction”! Since its invention critics have debated every inch of the cell phone. From its usefulness and size, to its effects on health after prolonged usage. The conversation has since shifted. The cell phone market today is flooded with a plethora devices to choose from, sporting top of the line materials and industry leading software, but this just scratches the surface. With over 968 million worldwide smartphone sales in 2013, consumers are feeding into the latest technology that the market has to offer. Though they may become
"How dangerous could a cell phone actually be?" That is one of the many questions a person will ask themselves throughout their lifetime. Cell phones cause many distractions to humans throughout the day. Many cell phone owners find themselves checking their phones for messages and notifications even when the phone did not vibrate or ring. The overuse of cell phones will have negative effects on the mental and physical health of its users, will cause driving distractions, and will have a negative impact on the communication skills of humans.
Technology is unavoidable in our modern lifestyle. You wake up, you use technology; you use technology while cooking, while eating, while driving. While you’re lying in bed before you fall asleep, you use technology, technology wakes you up in the morning. Is all the technology around you good for you, or is it harmful to your health? Was our society healthier or safer before all the advancements? So many questions and concerns about all of the technology we crave, but there are very few people who know the answers. Technology affects all parts of human life. It can create jobs, motivate people to get active, and assist people in learning, but this does not balance out that there are dangers that follow the use of technology.
I feel like the harmful effects from technology are your eyes and ears. The main thing that is harmful to technology because when you look at a computer screen, book, TV, or even when you are driving they st...
“Too much of anything can be harmful.” Variations of this famous expression have been widely known throughout human culture, but few people stop to think about what this phrase can actually apply to in daily life. The saying applies not only to drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes, but also to common, often considered harmless products such as caffeine, artificial sugar, and even vitamins. Among the worst of the dangers of society is one of the most accessible commodities of this century: technology. When used excessively, electronic screens and devices, although nearly impossible to live without nowadays, can cause some serious problems to the humans unknowingly risking their lives to do commonplace activities such as watching a movie or listening
Cell phones have become a part of mainstream culture. Recently they have become more affordable and accomplish much more than making and receiving calls. Along with the growing popularity there is also growing concerns about safety and health. In this paper we will address cell phone history and how they have evolved. We will discuss health concerns such as tumors and talking while driving. Finally, we will talk about all of the technology that cell phones can accomplish such as receiving Email and buying stocks.
According to The Huffington Post, people are on their devices for, on average, about eleven hours and fifty-two minutes a day. That is almost half a day and a lot longer than most people sleep or work. People have not yet realized how they or their families are being affected by this constant use of technology. As a result of technology increasing, children are experiencing health problems, school issues, and social problems. First and foremost, health problems due to the increase in technology usage is becoming a bigger issue than one might think.
How often do you use your cell phones? Physical contact with cell phones is very harmful to teenagers. Cell phones emit radiofrequency waves, or electromagnetic radiation, which is absorbed by the human body. There have been several concerns that radiation from cell phones can cause cancer to people especially younger people like teenagers. Even though there is no solid proof of this, many people believe that these radio waves can be carcinogenic. Poor ergonomics while using cell phones is another way to harm the body. Many teenagers get headaches, neck pain, shoulder pain, and hand pain to poor ergonomics when using their cell phones. Often, texting is a leading factor which causes our fingers to hurt. Another example of bad ergonomics is having small fonts and holding the device too close to one’s face to see better, instead of increasing the font size, which impacts the eye causing damage. With the new smart phones, most teenagers spend their time on the internet or texting which causes damage to their eyes and weakens their eyes...
To conclude i would like to say that regulatory agencies have concluded cell phones are safe, cell phone radiation is non-ionizing and studies indicate that there are long term risks but we need more data on intense sustained usage, and cell phones can be used more safely by only using them when signal strength is strong and the transmitter doesn’t have to transmit as much energy.
First of all, there are a lot of health issues reported from using a smart phone everyday. According to Science Daily, “Out of the 1,049 people surveyed, 70% of adults and 30% of children and adolescents have reported musculoskeletal symptoms in different parts of the body in relation to the use of electronic devices...
