The essential aspects of a self-directed learner are someone who is fully engaged in the learning process and takes it upon themselves to demonstrate their interest in learning. My plan is to dedicate as much time as possible studying to become successful. Secondly, I plan to read more recreationally about programming to try to make sure I understand the coursework. I have to dedicate time to this area. The third area would be to try to find someone already working in the field to try to gain some knowledge from them as well. I want to try to network to learn more about the real work being done day to day in the different fields of computer science. The fourth area would take better care of my diet and health. I don’t have the time I wish to shop and prepare fresh foods daily. The on the go options are not the most healthy ones. I want to try meal prepping to have healthy foods properly portioned ready to go without having to put too much thought into it. Eating properly and getting the proper rest will help me function at my best. Lastly, I want to work on being more adventurous and trying new things or visiting new places. I observed Mrs. Linscott’s classroom with three year olds at the East Lansing Child Development Laboratory. Along with the children, there were a few adults to help in the class. I focused on seven main things while observing the children. First, I focused on one child for 15 minutes and took note of their motor, language, and social development. The second thing I observed was how the adults in the classroom interacted with the children. Third, I payed attention to the children’s emotional development.
