Innovation is an important factor in business that keeps an organization competitive in its industry. In this assignment, I will conduct an interview with Kenneth Ellis, a property manager, broker, real estate salesman, and entrepreneur who has owned his own business for 30 years. I will interview Kenneth to learn more about the techniques utilized in his organization to encourage and support the implementation of innovations and reflect on what I learn.

As Kerr is an educator and a professor in universities and not an economist, he examines his idea or creativity in the organization by making inquires starting from top management to the bottom in the organization and also to people who knew what the buyer or customer should be; then he would run it through his network in and outside GE to cross examination and double check or assessment (Davenport et al). Kerr’s successes effectively with the standing of ideas and creativity mainly rely on his continuing exploratory research with great creative thinking skills, expertise and motivation, and they also depend on his outstanding leadership and exceptional organizational culture of innovation in GE (Davenport et al, 2003).
Innovation has rapidly assumed a position of prominence in world competition on a global scale. To compete in this environment, organizations need a level of innovation. As competition becomes more global and time-based, organizations must develop and deliver new and superior products or services in less time. The challenge for modern organizations is to revitalize them so they can successfully and continuously develop newer products and enhance business development.
As the semester finally approaches the finish line, I revisit my past work to compare and contrast how this class has developed me into a successful writer at the college level. Throughout the year my writing style has developed and become broader as I have learned how to incorporate more of my personal views as well as reliable, unbiased information. This portfolio is a representation of how many things I have learned along the way while being an English 102 student.

English has never been my best subject. Reading books can be exciting, but the writing aspect of English can be dreadful. Somehow, however, I passed all my advanced English classes with at least a B, and my teachers always considered me to be “above average.” My impartiality toward English shifted to an indifference near the end of my high school career; my indifference then shifted to appreciation. This appreciation is attributed to American Studies and Honors Writing, the most difficult English classes at Belleville East Township High School. American Studies and Honors Writing have strengthened my writing skills beyond what I believed possible. I still do not believe that I am the best writer, and English may never be my best or favorite
The author describes the innovator's dilemma as the conflict arises between old and new innovations. Essentially, people develop innovations, nurture them and bring them to market. Then, they defend these innovations. The innovator's dilemma is to determine at what point a new innovation is truly innovative and game-changing and at what point the old innovation is the better option.

When we were first given this assignment I had not put much consideration into it. I thought we were to ask a couple of questions, it would all work itself out and I would be done. But this was not the case. The thought and reflection put into interview questions really surprised me. There was far more factors other than the questions you were asking, because you were also dealing with people, people who are giving you there free time, their attention and opening themselves up to you a stranger, so there were far more responsibilities then what were initially at hand.
My interview actually went really well. I do like some things that I did for this interview but I also dislike some of the things I did and there are many changes I wish I had done now that the actual interview is now over. I found myself critiquing myself while listening to the recording and transcribing what I said. Overall, yes, I did get the main ideas of her opinions but I didn’t ask very good questions and I also made a couple rookie mistakes when doing this interview. I did the reading before the interview, and I read the interview material once more after the interview and I found myself not doing some of the things that the reading said to do.
Over the course of the semester, I feel that I have grown as a writer in many ways. When I came into the class, there were skills I had that I already excelled at. During my time in class, I have come to improve on those skills even more. Before I took this class I didn’t even realise what I was good at. This is the first class where I felt I received feedback on my writing that helped me to actually review my work in see what areas I lacked in and where I succeeded. Some of the skills I had shocked me as I didn’t think I had those capabilities in me.

As a graduating senior, there are many stressful, but necessary preparation needed so we are ready for the next chapter of our lives. Whether I’m looking to find a job, going to graduate school, or take times off, these preparation and skills are still essential to have. Among all the enrichment activities, I have chosen “Informational Interview” and “The Job Search and Social Media”. My main focus currently is to find a job upon graduation; I want to acquire some work experience, and if necessary, graduate school will be an option down the road. Interview is perhaps the most important part of the job application process; it is an opportunity for the company to value you as a person and as a potential worker in person, and it is also an opportunity
