Interstellar Travel Is Related To Space Travel

Have you ever wondered what interstellar travel is? How it is related to space travel now a days? Science is always involved in the ways things work. Especially when that object has something to do with space. There are many problems with spacecraft that would need to be fixed for them to become interstellar spacecrafts. So the requirements have to overcome those problems and go beyond the minimum. For example, where the spacecraft wants to go could be a possible problem. “The problem is getting the spacecraft there in a reasonable amount of time.” (https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/guest-blog/warp-drive-research-key-to-interstellar-travel/ ) So one problem is getting the spacecraft where it wants to go quickly and efficiently, unlike All the ship designs are different but they are all expensive, and time consuming, which makes each project to build them relatable. “The project aims to build a working prototype by 2036 at a final mission cost of around 10 billion dollars.” (http://www.livescience.com/55981-futuristic-spacecraft-for-interstellar-space-travel.html ) With all the materials they need that is a minimal cost. Another major requirement for interstellar travel is its fuel. They have to think of new ways to either get fuel, or carry a lot of fuel with them. “Instead of carrying its own fuel, a Bussard Ramjet would scoop up the very thin traces of gas and dust found in interstellar space, known as the Interstellar medium, using a vast funnel shaped electromagnetic field that extends for thousands of miles in front of the spacecraft.” (http://www.livescience.com/55981-futuristic-spacecraft-for-interstellar-space-travel.html ) That is one way of fueling up. In most cases you would have to use your resources. Another way to get fuel is from the energy around you. “In the meantime, science moves forward. And while NASA is not pursuing interstellar flight, scientists here continue to advance ion propulsion for missions to deep space and beyond using solar electric power.” (https://www.nasa.gov/centers/glenn/technology/warp/warp.html ) So that is another way to get power from “There will need to be a fast communications network to cover the great interplanetary distances.” (Littlejohn, 2004) You might also need to communicate if there is an emergency. For example if they are low on supplies, you will also need a way to get new supplies to the shuttle. If it is flying back to get it or flying supplies to the shuttle. Hopefully that would not be needed because that would be planned out ahead. “A more affordable and reliable way to transport people, equipment, and supplies.”... (Littlejohn, 2004) That is what will be needed. “Learning to grow food in space could help.” (https://www.nasa.gov/feature/jpl/interstellar-crossing-the-cosmic-void) Food is a source of energy for living things, so it is the number one requirment for things to be inside an interstellar spacecraft. But it is not only the spaceship that has requirements. The astronauts also have requirements. Some requirements include health, experience, education, ethnicity, and height. They all must be passed to go to space. The first requirement for astronauts is health. You are not aloud to have any disease, because many malfunctions can happen in space. “All astronauts must pass a NASA physical, with specific vision and blood pressure requirement.”(Baker, 2009) NASA has to make sure they will withstand
