Internet Cafe Business Plan
1.0 Executive Summary
JavaNet, unlike a typical cafe, will provide a unique forum for communication and entertainment through the medium of the Internet. JavaNet is the answer to an increasing demand. The public wants: (1) access to the methods of communication and volumes of information now available on the Internet, and (2) access at a cost they can afford and in such a way that they aren't socially, economically, or politically isolated. JavaNet's goal is to provide the community with a social, educational, entertaining, atmosphere for worldwide communication.
This business plan is prepared to obtain financing in the amount of $24,000. The supplemental financing is required to begin work on site preparation and modifications, equipment purchases, and to cover expenses in the first year of operations. Additional financing has already been secured in the form of: (1) $24,000 from the Oregon Economic Development Fund (2) $19,000 of personal savings from owner Cale Bruckner (3) $36,000 from three investors (4) and $9,290 in the form of short-term loans.
JavaNet will be incorporated as an LLC corporation. This will shield the owner Cale Bruckner, and the three outside investors, Luke Walsh, Doug Wilson, and John Underwood, from issues of personal liability and double taxation. The investors will be treated as shareholders and therefore will not be liable for more than their individual personal investment of $12,000 each.
The financing, in addition to the capital contributions from the owner, shareholders and the Oregon Economic Development Fund, will allow JavaNet to successfully open and maintain operations through year one. The large initial capital investment will allow JavaNet to provide its customers with a full featured Internet cafe. A unique, upscale, and innovative environment is required to provide the customers with an atmosphere that will spawn socialization. Successful operation in year one will provide JavaNet with a customer base that will allow it to be self sufficient in year two.

History has shown us that in order for a society to flourish there must be some commonality within the society. Sharing similar values, interests and cultures may be the basis for forming a community. The true test of a society is when communities can comprise, merging together as a larger, stronger, united society. For this process to even begin, there must be a common factor, be it foe, economic reasons, etc., a common goal amongst the communities. A prime example is the creation of a united American society. To truly appreciate the complexity of forming a united society you must first understand why these groups of people came to this strange new land. What similarities they shared, the differences which divided them and the force which unified them.
As put by Jen Waak in regarding the human need for community, “By surrounding yourself with others working toward a similar goal, you’ll get...yourself a bit further than you would have done on your own,” (Waak). By being able to see and participate in these different communities centered around different objectives, the goal becomes easier to achieve and bonds the group into something more through trying to reach it. This new unit is called a discourse community and is defined by John Swales as containing six specific characteristics: having a common goal, showing intercommunication and using lexis, having participation within the group, being defined by genres of texts, and having members with areas of expertise for the community. Designed to serve as a massive attack against the idea of investing in newly developed or developing tech companies, the article in itself -through the use of objective facts, detailed descriptions of the market, example situations, and even personal experience based on the author’s own investment in a failed tech-company- provides the reader with enough information to understand the truths behind the market, accomplished in an almost completely objective fashion, and then calls for modern investors to place value in realistic goals and not the “the hyperinflationary world of dotcom valuations.”
Revenues on Per-Passenger Basis: For simplicity, and clarity, all models were generated using per-passenger revenue information. Using this marginal revenue calculation as opposed to a disaggregated marginal and total revenue model offered the advantage of compensating for data that was not fully contained within the case. This allows assumptions to be made about continuous and linear marginal revenue curve.
Most gifted students have a wide range of interests. Type I enrichment will expose Jaeda to new ideas and exciting topics which will help her discover new areas of interest. Type II enrichment aims to develop cognitive and affective processes. Jaeda will be able to pursue additional training in her chosen area of interest. She will be able to engage in creative thinking and problem solving which will help her to find answers to all the questions she might have about that topic. Since students are expected to work in groups in Type II enrichment, the teacher can also use this opportunity to build on Jaeda’s team work skills. Type III enrichment is only offered to students who have interest and ability for task commitment. If Jaeda is able and willing, she could take on the role of a first hand inquirer (Renzulli and Reis, 1997). She could investigate real world problems and create an authentic product or service. This will help to develop self directed learning skills which would be beneficial not only for high school but also for her life long learning. Teacher can look for opportunities in both Type II and Type III enrichment to help Jaeda develop her leadership skills, for example, Jaeda could share her original work with an audience or teach some newly acquired knowledge to her

Many people ask me why I still continue to pursue dentistry even though I have been rejected so many times. I sometimes wonder this same question myself. Maybe it's insanity, maybe it's pride, or maybe it's perseverance. It may, in fact, be a combination of all three, but for me, I believe I am pursuing my passion something I am called to do. It is one thing to pursue something you want to do, but it is another thing to pursue something you are called to do. I realized at a young age that there was more to life than just doing for self, life is about helping those around you. I have always had a passion for helping people and I knew that helping people was the calling placed on my life. But, growing up, I wasn't sure how I was going to pursue or use this passion. When I was in high school I was involved in a weightlifting accident that almost resulted in the amputation of all my fingers on my left hand, fortunately, I had great doctors that were able to save my fingers and make them fully functional. This accident could have drastically changed my life, but it didn't, and I made a vow that whatever I did in life I would make sure it involved the use of my hands.
The members have been generating client bases in their own related businesses since 1999, previously, the members enjoyed mild success in their own businesses, and have been limited only by capital and available time.
The Internet has become a key ingredient of strenuous and busy lifestyle. ‘Internet’ has become the central-hub for communication, explorations, connecting with people or for official purposes. Resultantly, Internet growth has led to a plethora of new developments, such as decreased margins for companies as consumers turn more and more to the internet to buy goods and demand the best prices.
In evaluating statistical data one thing to consider is the measure that is used. By understanding the different statistical measurement tools and how they differ from one another, it is possible to judge whether a statistical graph can be accepted at face value. A good example is using the mean to depict averages. This was demonstrated by using the mean as a measure of determining the distribution of incomes. The mean income depicted was, $70,000 per year. At face value, it looks as though the sample population enjoys a rather high income. However, upon seeing individual salaries, it becomes obvious that only a few salaries are responsible for the high average income as depicted by the mean. The majority of the salaries were well under the $70,000 average. Therefore, the mean distributed income of $70,000 was at best misleading. By also looking at the median and mode measures of the income distributions, one has a clearer picture of the actual income distributions. Because this data contained extreme values, a standard deviation curve would have given better representation of salary distribution and would have highlighted the salaries at the high level and how they skewed the mean value.
Meeting the needs of academic diverse learners is the responsibility of their instructor. These diverse learners may include students who are one or more grade levels below classmates and the gifted student who is that much above. How can educators meet the needs of these students when their learning abilities are found at opposite ends of the instructional spectrum? The answer is planning successful lessons involving engaging activities, a variety of texts, technology implementation, and flexible grouping. The following is a lesson I implemented covering these key components.
The way we interact with the world around us has developed significantly since the first desktop computers. First access to the internet for general, public use was really only available to those who were able to afford the large, expensive desktop computer systems, but as computing evolved and smaller, higher performing systems were becoming more available and affordable, our dependence on having this connection to the internet was also developing. The trend continues to grow with the conti...
The Internet has revolutionized the computer and communications world like nothing before. The Internet enables communication and transmission of data between computers at different locations. The Internet is a computer application that connects tens of thousands of interconnected computer networks that include 1.7 million host computers around the world. The basis of connecting all these computers together is by the use of ordinary telephone wires. Users are then directly joined to other computer users at there own will for a small connection fee per month. The connection conveniently includes unlimited access to over a million web sites twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. There are many reasons why the Internet is important these reasons include: The net adapts to damage and error, data travels at 2/3 the speed of light on copper and fiber, the internet provides the same functionality to everyone, the net is the fastest growing technology ever, the net promotes freedom of speech, the net is digital, and can correct errors. Connecting to the Internet cost the taxpayer little or nothing, since each node was independent, and had to handle its own financing and its own technical requirements.
