It can verbally express that technology has benefitted from space research and driven by space exploration as well. The space exploration was a technological focus that provides the advancement in the various field such a science, technology, and medicine. The International Space Station was created for an international research facility. The areas of the NASA's developed technologies benefit society. One of the fields that technologies give influence and impact on society is towards the clothing. For the example of the benefit from the technologies are the developments of ribbed swimsuit, portable coolers/warmers, sports training, athletic shoes, shock-absorbing helmets, sports bra design, hair styling usages, fogless ski goggles, self-adjusting …show more content…
There is no laundry in space, so dirty garments are discarded via the ISS cargo resupply spacecraft. Sufficient cotton apparel for a crew of six integrates more than 900 pounds of freight to the International Space Station. Superseding crew apparel with non-cotton apparel, such as polyester, wool, and modacrylic, reduces weight for cargo launches and trash abstraction while providing crewmembers with comfortable, longer-lasting apparel. Eliminating cotton reduces the production of lint, which can clog the air filters on the International Space Station. Longer-lasting and lighter-weight apparel reduce storage and launch requisites for crewmember apparel, which brings down costs. Clothing with antimicrobial properties avails to eliminate odor quandaries. It can apply in the earth. Crewmembers exercise in commercially available shirts and shorts perpetually until they deem the apparel no longer acceptable to wear. The longer utilizable life of some of the test attire could be encouraging in areas of the world where washing apparel is …show more content…
It is the fireproof clothing. Fire fighters wear protective suits made from fabric former utilized in space suits. NASA develops a line of heat- and flame-resistant PBI textiles that could be utilized in space suits and conveyances. The stiff fibers had virtually no melting point, and could retain both vigor and flexibility after exposure to flame. The fabric was withal resistant to mildew, abrasions, and chemicals. PBI fibers were utilized in astronaut flight suits, apparel, and on tethers and other gear that required extreme thermal tolerance and durability. PBI fabrics have since found countless military and civilian uses such as lightweight, flame-resistant PBI fabrics provide a protection for fire fighters and U.S. Army troops in Afghanistan and
These are the reasons why I believe there should be more investment in space research and technology. It would be a time consuming and financially draining quest, but the pay off in new technology, applications, resources, and expansion opportunities make it a goal to strive for. As our rate of consumption of Earth’s natural resources continues to increase, it is imperative that we invest in the research of outer space as a possible solution to sustaining the human race.

This new invention had many better qualities and/or abilities than any other material in use already. Nylons are mostly known for their abilities to be dyed, to be unharmed by many kinds of household cleaning products or greases and oils, its rapid drying time, and above all, its silk-like appearance (The World Book). Nylons¡¯ tensile strength is greater than that of cottons, rayon, silk, and wool (Encarta). They also have characteristics that include elasticity, easy to clean,...
Bulletproof clothing is the most interesting thing I have ever seen in my life. There is not really a problem of bulletproof clothing besides it is very expensive to make it. It is very expensive just because of the materials. The materials are spider-silk, vectran and Kevlar. The history of bulletproof has been worn for thousands of years. Even the medieval Europe worn body armor. By the 1500’s, they changed the development of cannons and guns. Bulletproof in the encyclopedia means the protection of bullets, knives and puncture wounds. They have made antiballistic protective clothing. The material of it is single layer or multilayer package. The bulletproof clothing basically looks like a very strong net.

Detractors of public sector space agencies like NASA frequently argue that expending money and resources on sending humans into space is wasteful and irresponsible during shaky economic times. After all, in 2010 the U.S. Census Bureau in recorded 46.2 million people in poverty, the largest number in the 52 years the figure has been published. Putting tax dollars into a shuttle and sending it on an extraplanetary voyage is uneconomical in the eyes of many. However, beneficial developments of the space program can be found in airports, hospitals, laboratories, and homes around the world. Foam created for protecting the outside of a shuttle passing through the harsh atmosphere has found use as a durable, light-weight molding material for artificial limbs. Research and development for NASA'S programs has parented a network of hundreds of communication satellites used around the world on a daily basis and monitored by NASA. Robotic arms used for repairs, maintenance, and hazardous labor in sp...
“our gowns have retired for a deep and unexpected sleep” Maggy Rouff. The rationing of materials matched the conditions laid down by the board in relation to manufacturing of civilian clothing this was introduced in 1941.‘utility’ was applied to garments made from utility cloth, defined in terms of minimum weight and fibre
In America, space travel is a controversial issue that many discuss. Although exciting, some people find it unnecessary and a waste of money. There are also many risks associated with space travel and many issues are more important than space travel that should be focused on. There are ethical, diplomatic, and economic issues that need to be considered before making decisions about space exploration.

Mankind has always been fascinated with exploring the unknown. From sailing to distant lands to someday setting foot on other planets, the spirit of exploration is the same. Bur now with the current economic situation and the high cost of sending people to space, NASA is being looked at as a way to free up some much needed funds. Although, there is many problems here on planet Earth that need addressing, the benefits of space exploration far out weight the disadvantages. Space exploration has given us more advanced technology, advances in the medical field, and a boost to the economy and these facts cannot be disputed.
Astronauts use different tools and life techniques to live a healthy life. Because life is so different between space and Earth, it is hard adapting and getting use to that life. Staying clean takes more work in space. Astronauts do not have a bathroom like we have at home.
“Sheltered as we are by Earth's atmosphere and magnetic field, which deflect lethal radiation from space, we are like coddled children who have never ventured into a tough neighborhood” (Folger 2). Humans have been fascinated with space since the beginning of our time. Just like children and rough neighborhoods, we have tackled obstacle over obstacle to make it home again. In the end, we have a better knowledge and strength than before. The future of space exploration can assist us in answering the everlasting question of how the universe came to be. The more we explore the infinite galaxies, the more we can scientifically discover and create new technologies as science advances. As we continue to discover, we can create new fields and occupations for aspiring young students like myself.
That can lead to the water stress and pollution. Cotton is one of the common natural fibers and it is also a thirsty crop, to produce one cotton shirt it takes 2,700 liters of water which is enough amount of water for one person to drink 2 ½ years (3p Contributor., 2015). The chemical wastages from chemical dye and bleaches that produce from the factory, and carbon footprint such as polyester production which can lead to climate change. Given that amount of water wastage, I feel that people should opt for sustainable fashion clothes. Most people may be hesitant to try something so novel, so green. Therefore, I feel the fashion house should educate the public about the many benefits of sustainable fashion
Space exploration is very beneficial to humankind because it creates new technologies, it brings different countries together, and gives people a better understanding of our Earth.
By being in a very technologically advanced era, scientists can invent revolutionary devices never thought of. NASA is doing that right now and has been doing that since it began. They are not only climbing the stairs in space exploration but in the medical industry, too. Nevertheless, they are forever changing millions of lives by using all they have discovered. Most of all, they are teaching people a life lesson, to always use the things you have for the greater good. NASA has achieved profound success ever since their start in 1958 and they will continue to make discovery and innovation their first and foremost goal for years to come.
