Building a career in the chemical enterprise can be challenging. However, we cannot go wrong if we start life with a firm ground to build on using Gods Word. College students have several opportunities of starting a career path. Emilie Wapnick (2015) shared her concept of the “Multi-potentialite” and this aligns with why we have the option for an Interdisciplinary Studies (INDS) degree. Takagi, Y. and Sinjela, M. (2007) understood the power of the interdisciplinary degrees and how this could relate to intellectual property.

These areas of study overlap and compliment each other to help build unique careers. INDS provides an individual the flexibility to choose courses to accomplish their career goals and includes real-life experience that can be translated into college credits. Chemistry, biology, and environmental science are a few of the many opportunities that are available. I built my walls with an Associates of Science in Chemical Technology. I was hired by Eastman Chemical Company in 1991 and worked in the chemical pilot plant organization. I was able to us my engineering and computer science experience from the military and my education in chemistry. Chemical production and manufacturing plants were built to make material and chemicals for customers. The business organization must provide material and chemicals within the customer’s specification. The engineer and the chemist will work together to assure the plant continues to run and the process chemicals are within the customer’s specification. A person with an INDS degree that overlaps engineering, computer science, and chemistry is able to communicate with all member of the
Ultimately, this class helped me gauge and find a suitable career path, which will forever shape my future. Self-Exploration Over the course of this semester, I have learned a tremendous amount of information about myself from the self-exploration series. This interdisciplinary focus combines scientific or other technical knowledge and skills with business literacy to result in a gold-collar worker with expertise across several areas. Gold-collar engineers, chemists, biologists, physicists, or geoscientists understand the relationship between their scientific discipline and business, have the management and financial knowledge needed for a business environment, and can "marry" science and entrepreneurship.
The many areas of interest that I selected on Michigan’s supplement represent my desire to explore multiple avenues in college. Perhaps I will become a lawyer whose background in biopsychology, cognition, and neuroscience helps her empathize with each client, a doctor whose knowledge of political science aids her understanding of discrepancies in public health, or a journalist whose love of creative writing and literature radiates in the printed word. When I stumbled across LSA’s Major Impact Visualization, I was enamored by the possibilities each study could lead to. Economics could take me to a career in health; political science, sales; biology, law.
The problem of Interdisciplinary Studies for me is unemployment. Getting a job with a degree of (B.A) in Interdisciplinary Studies is a problem. My expectation is to become a teacher, which was my first major Education and English. Interdisciplinary Studies major does not show any specific area of study in which will be assigned in one’s certificate. In my country, government does not actual realize the Interdisciplinary Major. When teaching in my country, the system will require a teacher to have specific area of subject in which he or she teaches. Intellectual property falls under the category of property known as intangible rights, which includes patents (inventions of processes, machines, manufactures, and compositions of matter), copyrights (original artistic and literary works of), trademarks (commercial symbols), and trade secrets ((product formulas, patterns, designs). Intellectual property rights has a significant value to both individuals and businesses, providing in the case of large companies, over one half of their value on return. Since intellectual property rights are so important to the U.S. economy and its citizens, federal and state law provides protection, for example, civil damages and criminal penalties to be assessed against infringers. Due to the importance of intellectual property to a business, I don’t think that its protection and enforcement is going to be a thing of the past.

What exactly is a chemical engineer? Many would say that it is simply a "chemist who builds things" or an "engineer who makes chemicals. However, neither of these statements is completely true. The term "chemical engineer" is not meant to actually describe what it is a chemical engineer does, but to describe what sets it apart from the other branches of engineering: civil, mechanical, and electrical. On average, chemical engineers are numerically the smallest but also the highest paid. It is not a profession the must dwell on the past for comfort and support, for its greatest accomplishments are still yet to come.
My father, being a chemical engineer, inspired in me an innate desire to be a chemical engineer myself. I appeared for the All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) and was placed in the top 1% of the 1,100,000 students who had taken the exam. I chose Chemical Engineering as my undergraduate major at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur which provided me the opportunity to explore the breadth of chemical engineering. While the core courses provided the fundamentals of the field, the electives that I chose helped me gain an insight into the various facets of chemical engineering.
