“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”-Martin Luther King Jr. Roll of Thunder Hear my cry is mainly about one family called the Logan’s during the great the depression in 1933-193. During this time a lot of injustice is going around with racism. The Logan’s are doing there best to stay away from trouble, fight for what is right, and keep their land. But many challenges face their way during this time, getting threats from the Wallaces, getting attacked, racism, and the nightriders. Through this time they don’t give up and keep going and show enormous amounts of courage. For example, Cassie stood up for her brother when he was about to get in trouble from the teacher even though she would get in trouble. Her brother was going to get in trouble because in the book Little man sees a page in the book that disturbs him so he stands up and the teacher says for him to tell her or else, but he doesn’t. So cassie opens to that page and sees the disturbing page, so then she stands up and tells her and then she also gets in trouble. After saying she won’t use the book the teacher whipped them both. Also in the book cassie stands up to herself when she faces Lillian Jean in vicksburg. Cassie bumps into her and Lillian gets mad and says for Cassie to apologise. When cassie does that Lillian Jean says for her to get in the road, but cassie says no. Then when Lillian's father pushes Cassie to the ground and she gets back up her grandma tells her to apologise. Then she does, again. Also when Cassie stands up for her, Stacey, and TJ in the merchentle. When the owner of the merchentale says he will take their order he takes everyone else's first he does this because of racism. So he thinks that whites are better than blacks. And then Cassie goes over to the owner and tells him it is unfair and then he ignores her. Then she gets more confident and taps him again and tells him. Then he gets mad and tells her to leave. She shows enormous amounts of courage throughout the book by standing up for what is right no matter
