Coach Godwin said “in order to be where you want to be you already have to be there mentally”. This means if you want to be in the NBA you have to be there in your head already. “In terms of actual skills, dribbling is the first thing young players should learn to do”. In my opinion this is a good idea because if you can’t shoot that well yet you can find your way to the basket and make layups. But, it’s not all about what you have to do with the ball it’s is also in your head. “When your afraid to fail, your usually afraid to try”. “No matter what your friend, family or others think, dedicate to improving yourself “. You always need to keep a positive mentality not a negative one because if you do your going know where, and you will give up and just stop trying. Always think for the best never the worst no matter
Many people believe that a growth mindset helps you be more successful other than a fixed mindset. Dweck states, “He constantly worked on his weaknesses- his defensive game and his ball handling and shooting.” He also states ,”Former Bulls assistant coach John Bach called him “a genius who constantly wants to upgrade his

Backstory of Basketball Basketball has been played since 1891, and still continues to be played today as well. Basketball is an intriguing game played by 2 teams with 5 players from each team on the court at the same time. Basketball, as it started out in 1891 had no African American athletes in the sport. Let me first apologize about the amount of emails that have been sent and the hectic first week of basketball about the practice schedules. I know everyone is busy, so it's hard to have a time that is going to be good for everyone, but thank you for the patience and support. Good news though, we have figured out our practice schedule, so it will minimize the conflict that was happening with band. Instead of 3:45 on Mondays, we will now be starting at 4:15, that way the girls will only be missing 15 minutes of practice instead of the 45 minutes. However, our principal does not like the kids hanging out in the halls after school waiting for basketball to start. I am hoping to get a couple parent volunteers that can come after
Most players that enter the NBA draft early are 19 or 20 years-old. They are going to end up playing against 25-year-olds that are stronger, faster, and that have had more experience than they have. Along with more experience, they will not be as physically fit because one or two years of college will not do it, and high school will not do it. For example, Lebron James. He is considered one of the best to have played the game, and he went straight out of high school. Imagine if he had gone to college, he would be so much better. So if they leave after the freshman or sophomore year, they will be about five or six years behind and that will make it harder to get a spot on the bench. If they do not make it to the bench, then they will be in the D league for 2 or 3 years to help develop their skills. “The D-League uses a tiered compensation system that's based on experience. Players with ample NBA

Basketball originated in 1891 when future Presbyterian minister named James Naismith (1861-1939) was assigned to teach a P.E. class at Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) training school in Springfield, Massachusetts. The class had been noted for being disorderly, and Naismith was told to invent a new game to keep the young men occupied. Since it was winter and very cold outside, the game had to be played indoors was desirable. Naismith had a flashback to his childhood in Canada, where he and his friends had played "duck on a rock,”. The game involved trying to knock a large rock off a boulder by throwing smaller rocks at it. He also recalled watching rugby players toss a ball into a box in a gym. He had the idea to nail up boxes and the players would attempt to throw a ball. When he couldn't find boxes he used peach baskets. According to Alexander Wolff, in his book 100 Years of Hoops, Naismith drew up the rules for the new game in "about an hour." Most of them still apply in some form of todays. Basketball was a simple game that could be played indoors during winter. Naismith spread the rules freely, and there was a need for Naismith's legacy included the first great college basketball coach, Forrest "Phog" Allen (1885-1974), who played for Naismith at the University of Kansas and went on to win 771 games as a coa...
