Attention Getter: “Take me out to the ball game” in the united states Baseball has become America's favorite pastime.

Thesis: I will familiarize you to the greatest and the most patriotic sport know to america.

Preview: First we’ll talk a little about the origin of the true sport and how it came to be, second, we will break down the many stages of evolutions of the glove and third i’ll explain my personal experience to the sport.

A) Main Point 1 Topic sentence (History of Baseball): Lets begin with the history of Baseball including it origins, early years and professional baseball.

Claim: Their have been many competitive sports in american culture but i believe baseball

remains one of the oldest and most popular sports in american history.

You may have heard that Abner Doubleday invented baseball in Cooperstown, New York, during the summer of 1839 but he didn’t. It actually turns out that the real history of baseball is more complicated than Abner Doubleday. This dates back in the united states during the 1800’s.

Impact:

Claim: The early years of baseball has changed dramatically over the years that have gone by.

But later in september in 1845, a group was founded in new york city where men founded the New York Knickerbocker baseball Club. They were the ones that stated new set of rules stating for the diamond shape infeld, the three strike rule and then abolishment of the danger of tagging the runner by throwing the balls at them.

Impact: Over the years the impact of baseball has expanded to other states and countries as just a sport in general. An example would be little league, high school and college Baseball.

Claim: Formal rules for "Baseball" can be found as far back as 1838 in Philadelphia. Baseball in that time emerged as a New York game played primarily by immigrants. Support: The games were always a little different, they used similar equipment, but not always at the same time. They would use balls, bats, clubs, targets, or whatever was available. The way they played was different too, the way the ball was thrown, the method of scoring, the method of making outs, the layout of the field and the number of players involved. C) Main Point 3 Topic Sentence (My personal connection to Baseball): Today I’ll discuss how i got started with baseball to begin with and how its benefited me.

Claim: I began baseball when I was 4 years old in little league where all the players parent and coach were with them along the way telling us what to do. And as i got older and more independent i started to know more and more of what as was doing.

Support: One session I was in a slump and I was having a hard time making contact with the ball but when i did it would go far, they called players like me power hitters. So what I did was practice more and go to the batting cages more often.

Impact: Later that session my hitting was getting more consistent and not only would I’d hit hard i’d hit more often.

Claim: As i’ve gotten better i had started looking for more competitive leagues to play in.

Support: I had joined a team where their were more practices and games during the session with more intest players in each team. As the session came to an end we had won an amount of games to compete in the playoffs.

Impact: But even though we came third I still remember this because how fun it was making new friends on that team and then going so far with them as a

team.

Claim: I don't only play Baseball because i'm in love with the sport but also to spend time with my dad. My dad grew up on baseball. He enjoyed everything about it and that's why he put me in the sport hoping that i’d enjoy it as much as he did.

Support: Since then he’s taught me a lot about the sport and what I had to do in each position and because of the I have almost the same likes and need as he does.

Impact: In his Baseball years his main position was the “catcher” that was the player behind the batter catching the ball the pitcher threw to strike the batter out. As i said before with my dad and I having the same likes and needs I also love to play as the catcher as well.

Conclusion

Review: so today i’ve went over the history of Baseball and the evolution of the Baseball glove and my own personal experience with this amazing sport.
