Fuegian steamer duck : The largest steamer duck in the world, this South American duck has got its name due to its strange behaviour. It runs across water, thrashing its short wings like the wheels on a steamboat. Inaccessible island rail: It is smallest flightless bird, being about 17cm in length and having an average weight of 30 grams. Emperor penguin: It is one of the most well-known of flightless birds. It measures 115cm in height. It is found only in Antarctica, and feeds on fish, squid and krill.
Cool calm mornings, the fog on the lake is dense and all you can see is your decoys. As shooting hours roll around and the sun is just starting to peak over the horizon, the fog slowly lifts off the lake and the target at hand begins to swoop, lock up and land. What am I talking about? Ducks, one of the most majestic birds at hand, in my opinion. Ducks are one of the best animals to hunt, because one it’s a great challenge and two it is one of the most heart racing sports known to man. But what makes it so heart racing? Well when you’re out there and you hear you’re first mallard quack or your first wood duck whistle you get that deep adrenaline rush, your heart begins to pump faster and harder. Then there they are locking up into your decoys,
What is Waterfowl hunting? Not only is it hands down the most adrenaline pumping, heart racing outdoors sports, but also one of the top most adventurous outdoor experiences. Becoming a waterfowl hunter could be a life changing experience, showing one the great outdoors is an excellent way to relax and breath in the fresh air. A few steps an individual needs to take before going out and becoming a waterfowl pro. Waterfowl hunting will always remain on the top of the hunting food chain. Waterfowl hunting is a great hobby, and it is thrilling for the hunter to enjoy what nature has to offer the hunter. The three key aspects of waterfowl hunting are, scouting, preparing, and enjoying the hunt.
Ducks can be big or small, with the largest duck being the common eider, which weighs up to six pounds. The biggest, most popular waterfowl, is the mallard drake. The female green-wing teal is the smallest duck in waterfowl, and can weigh as little as six ounces. Most ducks fly pretty fast with some ducks reaching 40-60 mph.
Pit Bulls are not the aggressive breed that everybody makes them out to be. I can understand why there are some people who think that pit-bulls are just mean, but if you get past the looks, they are just big babies.

The Florida Manatee’s popular marine species in the tropical environment of Florida are currently considered an “endangered species”. The ecology (the relationships between living organisms and their interactions with their natural or developed environment), for the manatee (trichechus manatus), requires and is generally restricted to the inland and coastal waters of peninsular Florida during the winter, when they shelter in and/or near warm-water springs, heated industrial effluents, and other warm water sites (as stated in Research Gate (1997) Hartman 1979, Lefebvre et al). The Florida (West Indian) Manatee, An Endangered Species, has no known predators other than humans; in the past, humans hunted
These penguins lived after the Castastrophic event “Cretaceuous” that demolished the dinosaurs and many other species. Based on the DNA analyses and avaiable evidence of modern birds, we think the modern bird- lineages, including penguins, some how managed to survive through the Cretaceuous. Also it’s not shocking these fossils were found in New Zeland. The South Pacific and Southern oceans were free of predatory mammals, had abundant food, and had space for Penguins to breed. But the Southern Pacific is not the only area where Penguins inhabit. Many of modern penguins “Aptrenodytes” are located in the Antarctic. Recenelty it was discovered that there was a over looked feature on the surface of the fossil penguins flipper bone. These grooves were easily missed because the look was similar to tendons and muscles in the same area. It was discovered that these grooves were blood vessels that make up a counter current heat exchanger called “humeral arterial plexus” which allows penguins to limit the heat loss through the flippers. Also it helped Penguins maintain their core body temperature in cold water allowing them to survive long journeys in the cold waters. Although Penguins have luckily been able develop these traits to survive the dramatic shifts in climate, the world population can not mistake their success as resilience towards global warming.

When the pink flamingo splashed into the fifties market it staked two major claims to boldness. First, it was a flamingo. Since the 1930s, vacationing Americans had been flocking to Florida and returning home with flamingo souvenirs. In the 1910s and 1920s, Miami Beach first grand hotel, The Flamingo, had made the bird synonymous with wealth and pizzazz. Later developers built hundreds of more modest hotels to cater to an eager middle class served by new train lines and in South Beach especially architects employ the playful Art Deco style, replete with bright pinks and flamingo motifs.

In the family of the Spheniscidae lie the Penguins. They are covered with feathers and are warm blooded animals. They are aquatic and birdlike animals. There are 18 different species of penguins, and 6 genera’s. The major species of Spheniscidae include the Emperor Penguin, King Penguin, Royal Penguin, and many more. This one category of Spheniscidae has 3 sub families. Palaeeudyptinae which are Giant Penguins, Paraptenodytinae which are Stout-footed Penguins, and Palaeospheniscinae which are Slender-footed Penguins. All species are differentiated by their looks, characteristics and the way they live. Scientists might confirm a 19th species called Eudyptula Albosignat, also known as the white flippered form of a fairy
Neck and beak – *The neck is long and felixble as a result bird is able to rotate its head for reaching food and can see all around. *The jaws are teethless and are produced into beak which are variously modified to pick up food, making nests and preening etc. Skin – *The skin of bird is loose which allows movement of the flight muscles. Limbs –*Forelimbs are modified into wings and are attached closer to center of gravity and farther from head than in other animals. *The wings act as propelling organs for flight. *Hand bones are small, fused, flattened and specialized to manipulate the flight
