Today I am going to talk about a old but famous suspense and horrible movie by Steven Spielberg -- Jaws.
From official poster we can see a shark. This movie is related to the shark, but actually this movie is about a killer shark. After it released to the public, the audience of American beach was reduce a lot, because Jaws affect audience point of view to the sea. Some viewers of the Jaws called the killer shark”The teeth of the sea” and jn movie, Hooper called the shark”Eating Machine”. And this powerful the scene during/after Eating Machine eating was scared the viewers because the scene is bloody.

Hooper(Richard Dreyfuss and fisher Quint(Robert Shaw) become a team, the goal is kill the shark to stop it attack. In the last, Brody use gun shut the oxygen bottle hold in its mouth, the blast killed the shark. I think the most scared action scene is when Quint is eating by the shark, he use the tools he can use to attack shark but we still look at Quint a little a little eating by the shark. And I think this is most bloody scene in Jaws. For build up and highlight suspense and scared feeling Steven Spielberg use some elements help to build up and highlight these feelings. Elements 1: Camera shots I think the most important shots in movie Jaws is point of view, it makes these shark more real, it can let audiences and viewers to believe there is a real shark swimming in the water. There are other shots like close up, long shot, extreme long shot, wide shot...etc. Elements 2: Camera angles I think there are 3 angles using in Jaws, they are high view, low view and neutral view. Low view always use when the shark swim up from the deep sea to catch the people in sea surface. High view was used in take the boat when shark is attacking it or take people in high view for example when they take shark was attacking Quint, they use angle high than neutral view. They use neutral angle in a lot of time. For example like taking people, or taking things...etc.. Elements 3: Sound effects Sound effects in jaws are very similar like the real sound. I can make the viewers believe this things is real, happen in real world. For example like the shark attack the cage of Hooper, the sound of shark crash the metal cage is same as the sound of crash the metal in real world. Elements 4: Music If we talk about the music of Jaws we must talk about one people -- John Williams.
John Williams was the music maker of the Jaws. Through pitches, rhythm and volume changes theme music highlight the horror feeling of horror movie(Jaws is a horror movie). In the opening scene when Chrissie is eating by the killer shark, the background was very scared, scared music combine with that horror scene is easy to show the horror feeling then let viewer to feel it.
Part 4: I think Jaws is a good horror movie, and the technique it use I think is in the top 10 that time, even top 1. Because actually they use a robert shark, but the movement is very similar as the real shark. And the mise - en - scene is good, especially is lighting, it is suit with the scene. Sound effects and music are show/highlight horror feeling. Editing make the scene/action Fluent and coherent, viewer will not feel anything strange. For me I think the only mistake that Jaws have is the scene effects is not same as the movie now so when I watch Jaws first I was feel a little strange.
If I need give a grade to Jaws, I will give it 9 out of 10. It has good music and sound effects can help scene build up suspense.Camera shots and angles can show the scene well. But just like what I said its scene effects/style is not same as the movie now and I can see camera/photographer in a little scene. So I give it

This technique makes the audience afraid of the shark, whenever the theme song is played the audience is to expect another horrific attack from the deadly shark, which adds a lot of suspense and build-up to the scences following. Jaws is a really movie about a lot of suspense. The reason I think that Jaws is a really good movie about building suspense is because of three main things. One of the things that has a lot of suspense is Sound. When Jaws, well the shark is under water and is about to attack something or someone the music starts getting loud. Another thing that is really good about building suspense is the Camera Angle. The reason I think the camera angle is good about building suspense is when the camera is on the boat and it's going with the waves it feels like you're really there. The last thing that really draws my attention in the movie that builds suspense is the picture. The reason that the this really draws my attention is because in the film when something bad or a big part of the movie is about to happen the lighting in the movie also makes it feel like you are really there are have a part of what's actually going on.

John Williams is the musician for Jaws, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, E.T and lots more. But there is a piece which everyone recognizes, and that is the theme from the movie Jaws. Imagine Jaws without the music. People would not feel scared; they would laugh at the plastic shark. And that is why music is one of the most important elements in cinema. John Williams in a late interview said this: “The music is part of a whole, which if I try as a composer to take that part of the whole, like in a concerto. Therefore, in Jaws, every time the daring melody comes out; the audience knows something bad is going to happen, and the music may anticipate a particular situation, but without the music overpowering the actors and sound effects.
